Lady Annabel is a lowborn woman from the poorest part of the White city. She followed the Imperial army as a camp follower in hopes of making coins for her family and this is where she met Otto. Rowan is her son.
You can talk to her more at Aaron’s birthday and ask her many things. I’m expanding the scene as we speak.

Love the new update! The writing is fantastic and the new naming conventions and other features that are distinct to characters from different regions really flesh out the world and story. Looking forward to the chapter 1 update!

Who is Lady Annabel and Rowan?
Will we have the opportunity to have romance/affairs with people beyond those we are married to?

If I understood it correctly he is adopted actually, Cedric is Eleanor’s son aka mom’s ex lady in waiting, Rowan the older one is presumably an adopted commoner into the Imperial family but there is obviously much more going for him.

In my opinion you should release, if something is wrong is better to deal with it the soon that is possible.
But I understand if people think is better to realise everything when is truly complete.

He’s our dad’s bastard from Lady Anabel. At some point it says something about how she was a camp follower while our dad was away at war. Otto legitimized him which is sort of like adoption for kids who normally wouldn’t be officially acknowledged by as a royals child.

I’m not fully confident on the order of when everyone was born but I believe it’s Aeron, Freya, Rowan, MC, Cedric, Lucie.
I mean Otto seems to jump on anyone that moves at this point and we have zero evidence of any friends he may have had.

I had that backwards too, maybe it needs to be clarified at some point in the text just who/which siblings are which. Also, which of them may be related to you outside of the sibling relationship, like Eleanor’s son (and how,) should possibly be put into the stats screen under family or character information. Who’s related more to whom could play a big part in how people play or strategise for this game.

Probably Cat will tackle all of that when he adds the Codex and a fast relationship tab into the game, it is nearly guaranteed and very useful as it is easy to be confused the bigger the cast(and families) grow.

I voted for release, but I think the most important thing is that you’re satisfied with your writing before you upload it, regardless of the word count. It really depends on how frequently you want feedback, it could either be for every full chapter or for a specific word count.

We can’t completely confirm Rowan is Otto’s bastard perphaps the thing is Annabelle and him became friends during the camp follower days and decided to support her, other possibility is for her having the kid with another noble and Otto deciding to step up someone like a dead friend(his true parentate hidden) etc.
Just keep an open mind normally when these kind of characters are introduced is with a false front and with a far more complex background that one could guess.
Edit:
At first glance he does but getting it on with Eleanor was a particular move to remove the MC’s grandfather Gaspard from the post of hand, probably pacting it with Eleanor’s brother Afric Goldstone who ended up as the new hand.
Here we could be seeing something of a kind, a deeper motive with a less clear outcome or he could just be a horndog(that he also is).

Is that in order? So Rowan is older than Cedric? I know Aeron is older than Freya and Freya is slightly older than MC (if Helga is telling the truth and nursed* MC,) is Rowan, or is he the same age?
*And speaking of, why the hell does she think that means anything to me? You’re my enemy just like Eleanor is because let’s face it, when the shit hits the fan, you’re putting your favoured spawn, whether A or F, in contention for the throne and throwing me to the wolves.

I will legit respect him more if he fathered Cedric to kick our grandfather out of the position of Hand and Rowan is secretly the child of some powerful familly or smth.
But if the truth is TLDR : Otto just horny.
I’m officially forbidding any of my wifes to name my future sons after him.
I knew I was right to name my MC Gaspard. The glee I had when my automatic inner response to our father “I hope he won’t ever be like him,” was
“No. I’ll be WORSE.” And cackled maniacally can’t be bought.

I mean Rowan is very unlikely to be popular with most of the nobles and he seems like a diehard Aeron supporter anyway. In past demos Freya seemed pretty upset at the thought of conflict and Lucie isn’t likely to make a push herself. Not sure where Cedric is gonna stand anymore. His family seem much more important now so they might puppet him if worse come to worst.
This is my inclination. He might be making some plays but I think he’s mostly doing the thinking with his second brain.

Yes. Normal emperors usually have a lot of children depending on the system. Good emperors have the same amount BUT only legitimized the bastards if their familly is powerful or they do not have a suitable heir.
Like a peasant woman ? C’mon dad 
If Rowan is really just that then at best it’s a waste of precious money (that is better spent on US) and at worst the empire will have an emperor that the nobilities will probably never accept or support if Rowan miraculously win.
As for Cedric I’m willing to give our father the tiniest benefit of the doubt that it really was to break our alliance with the Goldstone.

Legitimized bastards are useful if the mainline end up discredited, that way you get a rebellion to put that branch of the family in power instead of a rebellion to take out the whole dynasty.
