Yes, Blood of the Living. If I remember correctly.
Yep! Tentative title Blood of the Living, but it may just end up being Fields of Asphodel II for clarity haha.
I quite like the tentative name for the sequel. It has a nice ring to it
This game will be released next Thursday, September 5th!
You can play the first three chapters here for free today: Fields of Asphodel
I’m seriously so excited for this game - it looks amazing!
Yay, and congrats! I can’t wait to play the finished/official version!
Yay! And congrats to the author!
The WIP version was one of the most beautifully written ChoiceScript games I’ve had the pleasure to play, and I’m thrilled that the final version is almost here. Just a few more days to wait!
I just saw the release date now as I’ve been off in IRL land for a few months. SO EXCITED!!
Great news @Jaybirdy !
You are doing great; we believe in you!
OMG September 5th, I’m so excited! I can’t wait.
This is so good!
Game is live on steam
“Choice of Games is a feminist, egalitarian, sex-positive company. All CoG games allow you to choose your character’s gender and sexual orientation.”
Not all Hosted Games allow you to pick gender or orientation, but these are the overall community and company values. Unless something is gender-locked, pronoun choices are almost certain to be part of the game.
COG and about 80% of it’s authors are some degree of leftist and has been so since the start of the company. I’m confused why others are so confused about this. There are other IF places more closer to your views why complain about them here where people like me and many others supported this kind of “political viewpoint”?
I am so curious why people feel the need to come in and tell authors to rewrite their game to fit their personal political views.
The author of this game is nonbinary. It’s not their “political viewpoint,” it’s their life. It would wear on them to feel obliged to cater to the preferences of people who don’t respect them. They would have a harder time enjoying their own game if they didn’t feel welcome in its world.
As for the immersion, if you can accept the existence of Greek gods, you can accept the existence of people who fall outside your narrow ideas about gender. Especially because people who fall outside your narrow ideas about gender actually exist.
Authors have the right to tell stories in a way that reflects their own views. You don’t have to agree, you don’t even have to like it, but you have no business demanding they write something that suits your views instead.
I love this game. I played it early into its demo release. It’s really up there on my bucket list. Definitely gonna get it when I have the time to play it!
I loved the demo and I’m so excited to see this finally released; fully fleshed out and edited, it’s an absolute delight. Such a wonderful cast of characters
And I just have to add that the way Hades is written just makes me feel so seen.
double hidden for light spoiler that might not even be in the game anymore bc I haven't gotten that far in the final version lol
When he sees pc fidget/stim and says “oh, you also?” Yes bebe me also. Vibe.
edit: @Ren_Daylust email CoG support, this has been happening to a few people in a few games (and may be platform specific I think?) and they’ve just been asking people to email them
