Friendly Finn I really like, shows he’s not as shallow as he seems on your first impression.
Asshole Finn… Let’s say my MC Red would like to give him a fist bump… to the face… with brass knuckles… at full speed. Red fell hard for him, and if he cuts off their visits because he was told to, she will be upset and very very mad
You’re being… pretty optimistic, @Nathan_Faxon (to put it mildly). At least that would be a somewhat legitimate reason. So no, that won’t be the reason.
Lucky you. Guess what I’m writing right now. (Not the only option, but one of them. Not completely sure about the others yet.) (No brass knuckles though. Not that our little super soldier’d need them.)
Now that’s an option I will choose without hesitation. Would it build up the suspicion bar if Red uses full strength and punches him through the observation window?
Basically what @Nathan_Faxon said goes for me as well.
When getting to know, it is all right of sorts, even ‘cute’, but as I believe I might have stated above somewhere, from the start he rubs me (figuratively, which is lucky for him) the wrong way. So if that will be worse, well, not punch or hurt or kill, but try to set up for minor accidents, or ‘pranks’ that will get him in trouble with the brass or something, that is what I’d like to do then.
In other words, you did create a good character if he can annoy even you while not being too bad when pursued.
Oh my gosh, I’m so glad this managed to make it to the top of the list again, hehe! I couldn’t for the life of me remember the name and I’d been looking to play it again. I think the last time I managed to play, the game cut off right after being locked in your cell after helping with the rebel situation and boy am I glad for what came after that.
So, @Cecilia_Rosewood, throw me a bone if you can, but if I decide that my poor ol’ MC Remy has feelings towards our dear Jason - which, let’s be real, considering the fact he’s the one that seems to have done the most to try and get him integrated into the crew/ship - and chooses to hold out a li’l hope for the future, will he get a chance? Poor Finn just isn’t his type and this whole relationship thing is just so confusing to him. Jason’s the only where it just makes sense to him. Otherwise, Remy’s going to end up becoming one hell of a creep, haha. He made the choice, not me.
Oh, while on that note, there was a li’l coding hiccup when Brown brought up the footage of Remy planting a smooch on the unsuspecting Jason. Instead of referring to Remy as “he”, the code for pronoun showed in it place.
Anyways, hope all is well~ You’ve got an awesome story with the huge potential for intrigue (which I love.)
@Nathan_Faxon That would’ve been a fine option if Finn had been able to survive such a thing (and yes, it would.)
…That’s a pretty good idea. I’ll see what I can do about it.
Short version, no. But your MC might still change his mind about the stalking Jason part when the other (100% available) male npc (Darius) shows up. (Just make sure to go help Finn or Xena in the hangar and save the pilot.) If not, well, then your MC is going to have a stalker of his own
Thanks for pointing that out. It should be fixed in the next update.
Just wanted to say. I loved reading through what is available right now(twice actually).
I think Empty Shell is a fine name for this, in the sense of that the MC starts off as an empty shell only to begin feeling and caring over the journey that is this novel.
I agree that the current title is a good description of what’s going on, but it just doesn’t sound right to me. Whenever I see it mentioned somewhere (which doesn’t happen often) I cringe and go 'Man, I really need to think of a better title than that. This one sounds awful.’ So yeah, I’m still looking for a better title.
I don’t think it sounds awful at all. The name is also exacly what caught my attention.
Now this is very subjective, but there are names I am more likely to click than others. Names for fantasy worlds, some sci fi directed and names that generally make me curious fit into my liking.
Empty Shell falls into the third, it made me curious.
Now to something that I think you may want to ask yourself. Do you dislike the name because it is not perfect enough because it is your own work or because it really is awful?
We tend to critizise our own work more than those of others. I like to draw, noticed it by how much others liked what I did and how ugly it looked through my own eyes.
Otherwise I would just suggest to wait until it is finished before picking a new name But that is just my opinion, still loved reading through it twice and am looking, quite a lot, forward to what is still to be added
Nah, it’s just awful I’m perfectly content with the titles to most of my other (smaller) projects, but this one just doesn’t want to cooperate for some reason Oh well. I guess I’ll have to wait 'till beta to change the name anyway, because otherwise no-one’d be able to find it anymore.
Oh, so that’s who that is… I was honestly wondering who that last fella on the list of people my MC knows is and why he had a higher affection level than Jason. /snickers/ Well, I think I ended up doing all those prerequisites you mentioned so… Yeah, maybe my poor guy will be able to move on if Darius does happen to see him as his ‘savior’. It’d definitely be a first for my guy - to be appreciated/admired in that way… If that is the case.
I hope that doesn’t mean they’d let a less than friendly MC be, uh, rather aggressive towards them. Don’t get me wrong, it’d be real interesting to explore, but I personally would just be all “Poor baby, I’ll keep the bad guys away.”
On the note of the name, I don’t know… I actually prefer the title “Nameless” that’s in the demo. It just… resonates with me more, especially considering the fact we’re likely to meet the big Them eventually, and our MC is nothing more than a number to them after all.
Cypher is my suggestion. Someone who has no real power in the present, may be under the control of others, and whose future is still to be determined is often referred to as a cypher or cipher. Combine this with the other meaning of cypher as a secret code or mystery, and I think it fits well.
oo, I actually want to second this suggestion. It reminds me of the Imperial Agent story line in Star Wars: The Old Republic where you gain the rank of Cipher and your overall objectives are espionage, infiltration, and assassination. So far… it seems pretty fitting.
