I was always more a fan of some stories where gold and metals were needed for consumption by dragons to keep their scales hard and healthy. Namely the dragon champion books. Made more sense then just greed for greed sake.
Hopefully we’ll be allowed to go all greed or have restraint. I feel like my MC would be more into hoarding knowledge and gems.

I picked white dragon with White feathered wings and power of lighting but a job healer I went with most gentle route i could i think my dragon he would good with our lover bois in our group

I love the trope because it actually differentiate humans from dragon, so instead of just roleplaying a dragon that might as well be shapeshifted from a level 20 wizard, we are playing a dragon that have different psychology from human.
it also gives the player a reason to be evil and destructive, instead of just chaotic stupid, now you can justify killing and robbing people because you are addicted to gold

Need to remember MC not just a “Dragon” They’re Ancient Dragon, it feel like they should set the standard here for other dragon to follow.
Also need to remember that Human is winning surely the old strategy of punch first question later doesn’t work there is a need to change probably radical change from animalistic to more reasonable because Human think dragon as animal they doesn’t believe that MC can talk.
Logically proving the dragon hunter cult is right by acting like mindless beast (kill on sight, murderhobo behavior, unrestrained violence, etc) doesn’t really good for us.
What drive the dragon slayer is an idea, you cannot kill idea the only way to deal with idea is to propose opposition to that idea or proving that idea is wrong.
I am more of fight when there is no other option but to fight, if not I’ll try to dismantle this supremacist organization by turning humans against each other recruit some for our cause, smear campaign and doing psyops like posing as dragon hunter and slaughter entire village leave some alive to throw mud in their name.

I have no issue of being wise and kind to Human that deserve such treatment but really if I am to choose violence that’s how I will do it.
I will put a mask of saintly sage while engaging in smear campaign in the shadow, dismantling this cult by divide and conquer not by facing it head on, why dirty our hand, sullied our name, being in spotlight to take the fall, risking our life, risking extinction, risking Human unite against us when you can pit one human against another, weaken them and destroy cult along with it.
Know thyself know thy enemy won hundreds battle.

We have power, use this power to sway others into our cause but at the same time undermine the dragon slayer, protect village from bandit, exterminate monster threaten a region, focus on building good name while evading the pursuit of dragon slayer, smear them as bunch of incompetent and failed hunter.

If there is no chaos, create chaos, use that gold we’re hoarding to good use, pay thugs and bandit to terrorized a place and swoop down to save the day winning over the support of population, world will not miss anything losing some crooks and lowlife.

We can try mitigate the chaos by also secretly working with the village we’re targeting, we need to sway some human to act as broker of information or we can get involved directly playing role of savior.

Need patience for doing all of this, it’s going to be slow process but this will uplift entire dragon kin if successful, cementing our image as protector rather than opposition, eventually you can have your own cult too considering we will grow stronger as we age.
As you can see It play directly to our power, ability and advantage a perfect elusive shadow, strengthen our own while undermining our enemies.
This Dragon slayer cult need to go if there is going to be chance of peace and I don’t think this cult will go down without a fight, eventually one way or another there will be confrontation.

Lol I don’t know how their love of gold makes them different than humans. Humans will literally murder or sell their family for gold in most fantasy stories I’ve seen and it has happened irl. Your view is good I just wish to see a new or slightly different vice more often.

That is the direction I went as well. A healer herbalist and potion maker, creating items to help save lives.

The Stormland is a murderhobo. It gives the Adventures guild/Dragon Slayers proof.
Meanwhile, as I hide, avoid confrontations as much as possible and avoid killing. Thus giving the scholar guild more proof.
We are varying, and everyone that keeps crossing paths with me feed the scholars guild. Which is the one that is vying to leave us alone. If forgot?

I kinda like the thought of the one Master going North. In order to kill the peaceful one because it breaks their whole, all dragons are monsters if the peaceful one continues that path.
Him going north to kill the violent types don’t really make the Dragon Slayers the villains as much to me. When looking at all the commoners’ perspectives alone and their ideas break away from ‘all dragons evil!’ As they are taught and believe.
It contradicts the ‘dragons are all monsters’. When one isn’t rampaging.
So yes, the Dragon Slayers ARE right if a vengeful dragon goes on a vengeance kick. If ask any common villager. Feeding the Dragon Slayers instead of trying to go against the grain built around Dragon Kin.
Vengeance? Nope, sorry, that is exactly what they WANT.

I aim for the wise, kind, defensive holy white dragon. I imagine I might even one day have to fight the southern murder dragon. My MC just wants to live his life in peace. He happily will fight to protect a friend or loved one, but if it’s in his own defense…he’d rather just run. G will probably need to save him from whatever mess he’s about to stumble into at this competition.
