When I shoot and kill the Vietnamese who was running away, the game tells that the squad feels a sense of respect for my action but I don’t see the relationship bar of any character increasing, is this intentional?

Yes! It’s intentional. Some members of the squad respect it, some don’t, the change in relationship (as of right now) isn’t usually enough to tip it into one way or the other, but brings it close.

@RedizE How will character development of your teammates develop? Could it get to the point to which someone like Roach may end up changing his aggressive attitude to something else?

I thought this game is very interesting and we don’t have enough historical war games. But I was wondering why a squad leader, why not someone like a platoon sergeant to allow a bit more scope and more characters. This might be me misunderstanding of how you want to develop this game but I could see it being hard to make the player feel like there in control of the story if there just a squad leader. Other than that I think this game is super interesting and original in its ideas and setting, keep it up.

I have considered making the PC a Platoon Leader instead - it’s still early stages so it’s easy to change stuff around. Great suggestion!

Exactly - Depending on your attitude towards them, how much they trust you, depending on who’s alive, who you trust to make decisions, the outcome of decisions, etc, can ultimately change your teammates.

Does that mean that you may be able to calm Roach’s temper and wish for action for example?

I think that’s the right thing to do since the story really gives off that “fresh lieutenant” vibe rather than a sgt.
