Crème de la Crème Discussion and Romance Guide (Spoilers Within)

@HarrisPS It’s mostly clear to me what stats each choices belong to there is just one which confuse me: At the Philosophy part of the exams I really don’t get which stat the choices check. I tend to pick the second option since the wording involves “blindsiding” I thought that would be tied to intrigue, but sometimes it works other times it doesn’t so I have to assume it checks some other stat? Well even when I fail that I still always get an A+ for the exam results, but still it kinda bothers me when I can’t do the exams perfectly, tho at least when I fail it I let Delacroix have some success too which seems to me as something she rarely gets anywhere else than at Children of Hecate activities.

Over on the Guns of Infinity thread, players have posted play through stats and descriptions of their MC’s. So, I took the liberty of doing that in the form of a wedding announcement

Wedding Announcement in the Fenburg Chronicle

Mr. Rupert Van Rossum weds Miss Patrice Delacroix

— In a small beach community in the the Hartwells, recent Gessner University graduate and competitive lacrosse player, Rupert Van Rossum and bewitching beauty, Patrice Delacroix, exchanged vows in a private gathering of family and close friends, The groom wore a simple tuxedo from Claud Perrier, while bride wore a dusty rose and black patina gown with a sheer bodice, gunmetal embroidery, black velvet bow, with a family heirloom necklace. Maxine Van Meyer was the maid of honor. Zuri Gonzales was the best woman. Other attendees include Miss Dalca, Head Teacher at Gallatin; Mrs. Eugenia Hartman-Renaldt; Miss Winifred Crawford; Miss Blaise Marechal; and Master Karson, Groundskeeper at Archambault.

The couple plan on honeymooning for two months in Zaledo visiting historic castles and secluded beach resorts. Upon their return to Westerlin the Van Rossums plan on refurbishing and residing at Archenlader Hall, which they purchased at a bargain price because it was once rumored to be haunted. Van Rossum plans on working at the Ministry of Trade. When this reporter asked about the improbability of the match, the lovely bride responded with a mischievous grin, “You see I cast a curse on him that he would love me always…”

Status that matter to Van Rossum

86% relationship with Delacroix

Gallatin defeated Archambault in lacrosse and sports day

Exam/coursework grades: A+/A

Accepted at Gessner University

Lady Renaldt sacked as head teacher at Gallatin

Archambault gained a narrow 52-48 victory in the Creme de la Creme competition

@Cari-san These are the stats for that particular bit:

-We’ll steamroll the opposition (Domineering)
-We’ll argue imaginatively (Progressive)
-Piggyback on the others’ points making it look like they’re my own (Intrigue)
-Support in the background (Accommodating)

Still, nice work on getting that A+ even without acing that part of the exams!

@Pauly51 That’s amazing!!! I looove that dress too :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Question

Is there anyway for Blaise to not get taken to the mines? I romanced them but I only got to see them again in the end and our relationship seemed rushed

Nope. Blaise getting taken happens no matter what, since he was going to get sent to the mine’s due to his aunt selling him out. Him trying to pin the theft of the necklace on the MC just gave Renaldt a convenient excuse for his sudden disappearance.

I finished the game and liked it very much. Will it be a sequel?

@HarrisPS hasn’t confirmed a sequel, but is playing around with the idea of one

I thought that was more of a new game set in the same world with a new mc? So it wouldn’t be a direct sequel, unless she has a major change of heart.
I must say, in contrast to Cari who wants an upgrade in starting social status I do like the chance of maybe being the “Karson of Archambault” or maybe, moving away from the school setting, a role where the mc can ascend more on their own and truly be be a self-made (wo)man by the end, if we wish.

I don’t think there should be a direct sequel, there are numorous endings and many potential relationship ranging from engagement and discretion relationship. It would make life very hard for @HarrisPS, to carry over these epilogue relationship to sequel, some CoG tried to do that but had generally create dissatisfaction when certain relationship route didn’t manage to continue with satisfactory continuity… example if we engage with Rosario the marriage with the prince/princess and future life of Royal Family already deserve a single title of its own,if we continue discretion scandalous relation with Delacroix , the path will be further expand …

Yes that’s pretty much how I feel at the moment! If I was to pitch something in the same setting it would likely be thematically linked rather than the same MC. I’d likely reference major things the Creme MC did, though, if they made significant changes to the world in a playthrough.

You could do a game on the Archambault side; maybe with the same storyline as CDLC but from the perspective of a new MC with Rosario, Auguste, Florin, and maybe a few new characters as classmates, or a completely new story.

wow that’s a great idea

Is it possible you could write the next game as a joint project with @FayI and combine your strengths? Or does CoG not allow multiple author offerings due to more difficult royalties?

Does it have an m/m option? That would make me really excited about it, as Asteroid Run was one of the better games of this year too with a very cute ro.

The Eagle’s Heir and Stronghold are joint projects, as are All World Pro Wrestling and Demon Mark. I imagine it would be fine from that standpoint. Fay talked about it a little while back actually, we did collaborate on some creative projects back in the day.

The major questions would be a) whether our timing could sync up since she’s working on a Heart’s Choice game right now, b) the time management/organisation of the whole thing and c) most importantly, whether we could come up with an idea we were both really into! We have major overlap of things we like playing, and similar design approaches, but I would never have wanted to write Asteroid Run and she would never have wanted to write Creme de la Creme. So it would be a case of figuring out something we’d both be excited enough about for a long-term project.

What Hannah said! We have quite different genre and content interests, but if we did ever think of something that hit the spot for both of us, that would be pretty dang awesome.

Can someone tell me how our Gallatin roomates look like? Did male Max had cornrows?

How about Creme de la Creme-verse set in the future? Where technology advenced but social structure more or less stayed the same with a working class aristocrats who do the political maneuvering?

Edit: @idonotlikeusernames Fayl’s HC game is listed under gender variant on the upcoming HCs thread so I assume that means it includes m/m romances too.

I shan’t go into too much detail here, but yes, my HC has variable gender for PC and love interests (m, f, nb). More info to come in the future in its own thread!

On the topic of Crème sequels, I want to see everything about the setting - it’s a shame Hannah only has to much time to write!
