Oh I meant the asking about their sex at birth is intrusive, I can see the coin flip remark is definitely a denial of their self.
Anyway hope you’re doing well, whereever you are!

Why are there two Laconnes?
Apologies if anyone’s already pointed this out, I was looking at the map trying to trace where the rebellion had been and potentially where it could go when I noticed that.
If I recall correctly, it used to be one large forest. Then the Hegemony happened.
Edit:
Found it in the game 1 thread. I was half right at least.
Ah, I see, I took it as being a particular settlement - upon rereading the intro to Uprising I can see that there’s a reference to the forest of Laconne. I read that as being the forest surrounding Laconne moreso than a forest named Laconne but I can definitely see the other interpretation. Thanks for clarifying.
You can actually see where it used to connect on the map, there’s a little trail of stumps between the two.
Good spot, I guessed that had something to do with it.
On another note, what was the population and population breakdown of Rim Square before the failed Harrowing?
There’s a guess but I’m not sure how accurate it is.
Helots: 350
Yeomen: 150
Merchants: 10
Alastors: 70
Diakons: 15
Ecclesiast: 1
Aristocrats: 25
I was wondering, is the whole thing with the city continually getting populated, only to be wiped out inspired by Mass Effect?
Did you get to the end of the demo?
The hegemony sends armies to attack the settlement every few decades if there is a possibility of on organized society to form beyond the ward based out of the city, since the hegemony woun’t tolerate rivaling powerstructures
I’ve actually not yet played Mass Effect.
Aren’t abhumans reliant on Hegemony food? If so, why they are so keen to act against it? Wouldn’t they suffer greatly when Hegemony collapses?
I think Cerlotta is maybe confusing “luxury” foodstuffs that are nice to have with having enough to survive on there. The Abhumans have a much lower population, their own magic that they probably can and do turn to agricultural needs if that should prove necessary and their own continent. I think they could get by if the Hegemony collapses. For example in Roman times we could get by fine without cocoa and potatoes, I think something like that is more likely to happen to the abhumans if trade collapses, not that they will suffer the same kinds of famines or population collapse the overpopulated former Hegemony territories will.
But about that scroll Ganelon gave to mage mc and what Cerlotta said about it: does this mean Gan has theurge parents or is that connection more distant like maybe one of his parents or grandparents had theurge parents? Of course even in the latter case given the greatly enhanced lifespans of theurges they could still be alive too.
@Havenstone part of me is curious if you can be like Cao Cao from the Three Kingdoms period. Merely a “Prime Minister” of the Han over the new Thautmarch.
I suspect that Sarcifer envisages himself in the Prime Minister (Cao Cao style) role with the MC as figurehead Thaumatarch.
Maybe the Diadoch’s consort could be possible?
Obviously, most of the followers would be livid with any of these options.
As a helot you won’t likely be a proper consort but more of a concubine and sex toy, so in effect you’d be re-enslaving yourself. No boy is possibly worth that, but that is just my mc.
Has it ever been hinted at just how exactly a romance with Phaedra would even begin? Like, why would the Thaumatarch’s heir betray or ruin the Hegemony?
Would the MC be the one to “flip” sides here and join the future Thaumatarch in reforming/upholding the Hegemony?
On what do you base such reasoning? I don’t think there has been anything hinting that helot MC would end up as “sex toy”, on contrary Havie hinted that Diadoch will like compassionate MCs more, which would indicate some more genuine personality and possible relationship.
I actually can’t wait to play this, once I’ve cleared up some spare time. I’m incredibly behind on all my favorite COGs.
Do you know where Havenstone said that? I just remember a sneak peak in which the Diadoch/e and MC are presumably doing erotic foreplay, and them being a talented theurge and noted “reformer” and follower of Sarcifer (believing the status quo is unsustainable, though no idea how they intend to change that)
