Choice of Rebels Part 1 WIP thread

Oh no, the Christmas rush leading to horribly unfulfilling endings that ruin the need to buy the sequels… oh no… :scream:

I am Happy for you… Now I am scared for poor Evil Gandhi alone in the forest with 30 brutes and some Lacoste fancy weapons hidden somewhere. And having to wait another 3 years to know how the battle ended… YOU ARE CRUEL HAVIE

4 months, Mara. Well, we hope.

Havie, might drop an offering or two to the Old God that XOR comes out good, sells well, and you get enough sleep.

The battle will be resolved this game. That’s not the cliffhanger.

Mara, it could be worse. We’re friends with the author here. It’s not like you have to wait for three years with no updates or spoilers or opportunities to change the book or game to your liking, like everyone else has to in normal circumstances! We’re lucky!

And I can keep pestering Haven.

Oh? It seems I’m the only one being spoil’t then!

My current aching question is where and when are the “boar” for which were forged the boar-spears. Boar spears. Double-edged, long-bladed, crescented “boar spears”: spears that obviously aren’t built to kill boar.

-leans forward in anticipation- where are they, Havie, when do I see the Giant Hairy Blood Pigs™

Hear, hear![quote=“Bagelthief, post:4942, topic:1601”]

Maybe the Hegemony just picks the tusks out of huge boars? Or maybe it’s a nickname for a big spear. But that sounds like a Halassur thing, maybe?

No

It’s

Better

Boar stuff is the Mutant hounds with weird name that hount people through relentless pursuit connected to their masters.

Is a beautiful poke cat with poison ? And love being cuddle? I LOVE KITTENS :heart_eyes_cat:

Sorry, Mara! Nope, sadly.

My own cat Bee is snuggling with me as I type this!.. I’m afraid boars are, unfortunately(?), just another type of Plektoi.

I’m only letting this one out because you could have probably deduced it anyway from educating yourself in medieval weaponry! I’m not letting anything else out about the next game, so don’t try me. :persevere:

How many words do you have now and how many do you think you’ll be looking at when you finish?

So how many chapters will be in this?

It’s almost time to finally buy the game… I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. Fingers crossed for it to be on Steam. Now, for a strange question… any thoughts on offering a guide as DLC, as Heroes Rise did?

The short answer is four (4).
the long answer, well…

Again, I assume this is still accurate for the most part.

@Havenstone May I say how much I like the new Chapter 2? The struggle for survival gives a wonderfully gritty and compelling start to the game. I have to admit I struggled a bit on my first couple of attempts… until I started thinking about what people in my rebels’ position would actually want from their leader, rather than just treating them like chess pieces.

I ran into something that looked like a bug. My rebellion had 0 sick, and I’d still allocated 1 mile to look after anyone who fell ill. However, when the theurge attacked I was told that I hadn’t allocated enough miles to the sick, and lost 47 outlaws (which pretty much wiped out my rebellion for that game).

Also, if you’re a noble, how do you get to keep your family sword?
