But I don’t want their little game to change my MC’s personality though. I can also just imagine the chaos that would ensue since my MC will have plenty of friends:
MC defies the gods and decides not to kill his opponent.
Ares commands his children to kill the MC off for defying the gods while he prepares his own spear.
Calypso wouldn’t know what to do since she may or may not have a thing for Lavei.
Athena, Hades, and Demeter rush to strike Ares before he can do anything.
Adonis, Aeson, and Saint jump to defend Lavei since his death would mean Aeson’s as well.
Hephaestus and Aphrodite start readying to help Ares.
Zeus prepares to smite everyone to stop all out war.
I sent it mainly for the sense of grandeur and finality that I feel it conveys (: (and whilst it may ultimately be a redundant point, that’s Rohie’s call to make I guess, for all intents and purposes the story does take place in today’s time xD)
Actually that’s a thing I’ve been meaning to ask @Rohie. It’s not unusual for Zeus and Poseidon to have affairs. But Hades/Persephone? ((barring that one myth or two)) → the implication in the lunch sequence has at least Hades going around iykwim :))
I’m all for the dismantling of the trials. Or at least the removing the rule that has you kill people.
And, if we’re going to have a rivalry with Aeson – presuming he doesn’t do anything to push my MC’s buttons – I want an option for my MC to be like “since when were we rivals???” in the most sincere and honest way :))
Squarelyblue is asking if Aeson will declare us his rival and if so whether we will be able to respond with a confused outburst given the fact that the MC does not feel any animosity or competitiveness toward him.
For example, “Since when were we rivals??”
@Scorpio00 nailed it. I’m sorry for the confusion but yeah, option to be friendly at least to everyone :)) (I’m very…vanilla I guess when I play, like likely to take the most diplomatic route until someone really pushes the buttons – GOOD IS NOT NICE)
Two things.
First of all, gods having overlapping jurisdictions were hardly unknown, secondly,
the ancient Greeks didn't think of magic as one thing but several things.
Apollo- Patron of the Oracle at Delphi, his songs "the hymns of Apollo" were powerful
magic, and Orpheus' magic music makes him one of the premiere magicians in Greek myth.
So magic is magic, but sometimes it's also music.
Pythagoras and Empedocles were also seen as powerful magicians, their occult
power stemming from their brilliant mastery of science, philosophy, and mathematics,
you know, Athena stuff.
Yes sure, but my point was that there was already a goddess whose domain is specified as magic and witchcraft.
Everything a god do can be seen as magic, and science can be seen as a form of magic by uneducated peoples, but Magic with a capital M is Hecate’s property so even if there is other form of magic, true sorcery belongs to Hecate. At least that’s my point of view but I understand your point being that she’s not the only one who do magic.
I’ve made a plot altering decision: ignore the scene with Hades kids in it. Yep. Forget it. You never saw them. It never happened.
If you can’t ignore it, just imagine that it was some illusion the MC had, some weird side affect from Olympian air or whatever.
From now on, Hades only had tw(one) kid(s), and you might be (one of) them. I just thought realized I put my foot in my mouth by doing the whole high-school-clique thing when in my notes I clear wrote that Hades has ONE (cough, or two,) kid(s).
Like a cliffhanger; the plot thickens, you ARE SUCH A TEASE. Now for the long wait for the next update my mind lost in the abundance of what ifs…almost tempted to do a FF XD. Almost
