Of course, pointing out the hypocrisy of the gods is a good way to find yourself turned into a spider (among other fates).
Aracne doesn’t end so bad. And gods doesn’t have any problems with incest in old mythology. It was logical for ancient people that gods bloodline is a closed familiar stuff no others have so if you wanna god baby you need a familiar.
If only Oedipus and Jocasta had got that memo…
But yes, turning into a spider is probably one of the better “punishments” doled out.
Oedipus was no god so was not covered by the Zeus banging act. Greek pharaohs and Comodo was included in that act
Hence: hypocrisy. Whether that would apply to our MC, though, even if it weren’t for the “not real DNA” escape clause, is yet to be determined (I imagine Saint would be against any experimentation, though).
My saint is very pro investigation also the fact he bangs with Adonis helps that poliamory stuff
I imagine most Bearers would too.
We still don’t know how Demigods handle relationships in Olympus; there’s a good chance that they aren’t too keen of polyamory themselves and handle their relationships by human standards. Though at this point, who really knows (we certainly haven’t seen polyamory relationships between the Demigods; just normal pair couples).
Ironically, I actually see Adonis as one of the ones LEAST open to polyamory. If he really is genuinely nursing a deep crush for the first time (and if his moment of jealousy during the dance is any indication), he may be the most prone to jealousy due to being unused to experiencing the feeling often and would prefer having the Bearer to himself rather than deal with sharing them emotionally or physically with someone else.
ADONIS IS SLEEPING WITH AESON THERE IS ONLY ONE BED FOR BOTH IN THE ROOM ONE He also has sex with half of female population and flirt kiss you that’s poliamory in my book. We knew afrodite children’s flirt woth everyone. And there were partners in the dance
You know that people can sleep in the same bed without having sex, do you? And maybe there is just one bed because a) Aeson is at the time anyway away and b) maybe Adonis wasn’t always his roommate? Maybe he used to share a room with Saxon and now that he is dead and seemingly some other Seekers are also dead they just rearranged the rooms? By now we don’t have a given reason.
And sleeping around / having various one-night-stands is also not the same as having a relationship with someone. And having various sexual relationships in succesion is not automatically the same as a polyarmorous relationship. Friends with benefits is also a thing.
A polyamorous relationship normaly depends on the agreement of all involved people in the relationship as far as I’m aware of it. Everything else is still just cheating.
I also agree that Adonis seems like the type that would take a commited relationship rather serious. Just look at the stat screen and his jealous reactions when MC has a crush on him: That guy is obviously not used to honestly care romantically for someone else. He reacts so easily jealous, how should he be able to work out a _well-_functioning polyamorous relationship?
I’m not even sure he knows how to work out any romantic relationship in a well-functioning manner.
@Rohie has said Aeson room mate is Adonis. If you believe that they quit and put a bed in a room each time Aeson goes in the building is up to you . But believe that a child of afrodite banging woman he almost not know would sleep with Aeson without NEVER sex involved well I see it farfetched as hell … I used poliamory in the sense of freelance relationship not idea name in English to the free attachment and free sex
We still don’t know if Aeson also sleeps in that room; we only know he has some stuff in there (which he may do since Adonis possibly has more privacy than him). Don’t remember @Rohie saying they were roommates either; only that everyone in the dorms has a roommate (and that if they don’t it’s because something has happened to former roommate).
And we don’t know how physically intimate Adonis has been with others. Enough to make the Bearer blush and Saint smirk when he was hearing what went on in the room, but it could just have gone as far as seduction and making out. It’s hard to tell how far he went with the girl or anyone else for that matter since the interaction with the former was behind closed doors and we know very little about the latter
…You know, now that it’s been pointed out, we really haven’t seen him flirt with any males besides an interested Male Bearer, have we?
Considering Aphrodite is his mother and she chose him as her current favorite, I have doubts about that as well.
Though I have this mental picture that if the Goddess of Love does (half-jokingly) hit on the Bearer while Adonis has a crush on them, he may not say anything to her but he’ll be quick to have a possessive arm around them that pretty much screams “BACK OFF. MINE.” (once he comes to terms with the idea he like the Bearer in a way he’s not used to anyway. I see him being somewhat indecisive for a good while in the beginning).
I meant that it is possible that because of the recent losses they had (the possesed Seekers, you remember?) and because @Rohie also said that if someone has no roommate it is because something happende to said roommate that it could be possible that they rearranged the room mates.
And I say considering what we know about Adonis it’s rather far-fetched that he and Aeson would have sex with each other considering the strong divide Adonis draws between friends on one side and the people he “seduces” on the other. And that is only Adonis side of the deal.
Considering how awkward Calypso’s crush makes things between them and how focused Aeson is on his plans, I’m not sure how he would feel about such arrangement.
I don’t even think it’s so much because he is one of Aphrodite’s favorites, but moreso because of the kind of example she is. He pretty much called her love shallow when I remember right, it would be easy to assign the same shallowness to romantic love as a whole. He just doesn’t really trusts romantic love as far as I can tell. So he puts his honest care into the platonic relationships he cherishes.
And that’s why developing romantic feelings for MC leads him to say that he isn’t sure “what kind of friend” MC for him is. Because he truly starts to care, but that is not how it should be, because if it stops being shallow he no longer has control over the situation. (I really think I already worded that better once two thousand posts ago…But it’s too warm for me to think, so take the discount character analysis. Eh I worded what I mean better in that post.)
If you’re referring to a relationship where both sides are by mutual agreement allowed to mess around with whoever else they want to I think it’s referred to as an ‘open relationship’. If that’s not what you’re referring to I haven’t got a clue either

I didn’t notice any jealousy in him while playing. What did I miss? He was all buddy-buddy with my MC until she forcibly kissed him on the dancefloor. Then he just vanished like poof. Where did he have a jealous reaction?
Ask someone else to dance see how he reacts when MC is intersted in him in contrast how he reacts when MC is not interested. (Same for Callypso. Show interest in both and then ask Aeson and watch everyone silently suffer from the indecision of the Bearer)
Ah, you mean that aggravated look. But since both Calypso and Adonis have it, are you saying they are both the jealous type?
Ah, sorry just checked it again, only Adonis reacts jealous. (MC is the one reacting to both when they dance with someone else)
Yeah, we think the same. And the forced kiss scene with Adonis made me skipping entirely any romantic perspective with him. I don’t like dominating boys that force kissing you are jealous without reason and behaving like an ass.
He just banged random girl yesterday in my face… saying she was random will pokemon who appeared in his bed and he just had to catch them all. (Metaphor means nah she just was there)
He still flirt with everyone so I thought he is a flirty guy style Zevran or Isabella so he doesn’t mind… Jealous time
Adonis go lick a frosting cyanide column… ARE WE IN RELATIONSHIP? NO… THEN WHY YOU ARE KISSING ME AGAINST MY WILL…Oh he has to be glad is not real live because he would end with his jewels like a party tiara…
I always bring up fact Adonis is a Favorite of Aphrodite because I get the feeling they are the ones even more exposed to shallow displays of love and expected to take on such practices as examples of being the best of Aphrodite’s children (much like how firstborn children have high expectations placed on them at times and are expected to be an example to their younger siblings). The Favorite may be taught skills on how to be actively charming and what kind of actions will get someone smitten to them so they can achieve this and be able to seduce others easily. And to see that it not only works more than half the time, yet only experiencing shallow relationships because of it must be highly disheartening to the Favorite in particular, who may develop a low opinion toward romantic relationships after a while.
It’s clear being a Favorite isn’t a enjoyable experience for a good number of reasons, if Adonis expression to revealing this fact is anything to go by. He only seems his happiest when he’s discussing his forging projects (the Bearer certainly notes how he lights up and is eager to talk about it with them). And it’s my favorite part of interacting with him; when he talks about forging, because it always feels like those are the moments when he’s at his most honest.
Which ends up leading full circle to the conflict with the Bearer; for the (possibly) first time, Adonis has met someone who he not only enjoys being around as a friend, but also feels a interest in that is little similar to when he romantically pursues someone. But since he keeps his friendships and romantic conquests away from each other, he has no idea how he’s supposed to handle his interest toward the Bearer.
…It’s the MC that initiates the kiss…there is no forced kiss from him as far as I remember. You have to chose that option…Otherwise you just can say goodby or ask him about his hobby.
You hesitantly take his hand, and he turns his gaze onto you, his green eyes searching. There is an uncertainty in his gaze.
You don’t hesitate before leaning in. The feeling of the warmth of his lips on your own consumes your senses. His hand is warm on your cheek.
See? It’s the MC kissing Adonis, not Adonis kissing MC. That’s why he is running away from MC. Because they had the control during the scene. If somebody kissed someone else against their will it was the MC.
