I decided to create a new thread for my game, but an error message appeared, saying that I can’t embed media in a post.
The thing is, when creating an old thread, this error message didn’t pop up, and so I was able to embed images (9 of them, to be exact). What might be the problem? I have a Basic trust level, so I should be able to.
It seems that I confused the default discourse trust level settings with how it functions on COG forums.
↑ this is different from this ↓
In the upper link, it clearly states that:
Users at trust level 1 can…
Use all core Discourse functions; all new user restrictions are removed
Send PMs
Upload images and attachments if enabled ←
Edit wiki posts
Flag posts
Mute other users
But in the Users Trust Level on the COG forum, it states:
Once a user sticks around long enough to read a bit, we trust them enough to unlock most forum features.
You can get to trust level 1 by…
entering at least 5 topics.
reading at least 30 posts.
spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts.
Alternatively, you’ll start at trust level 1 if you’re invited to the forums by another user.
At trust level 1 you can…
use more of the forum’s main functions.
upload attachments. ← Nothing about images
edit wiki posts.
flag posts.
post without moderation approval (after your initial post).
In addition, for the first 24 hours after creating your account, you’ll only be able to post 25 messages, and create 3 topics.
Level 1 users cannot post to the off-topic category.
I also found that your first post goes without moderation approval, so maybe that’s why you’re able to embed images in your first post but not all the next ones. (until you gain the trust level of a member)
Everything probably works as intended, so I should just post the new thread without images for the time being.
