BREACH: The Archangel Job - (Released! | Discussion) New Discord

Can we have the option to just shoot Megan house ourselves because I really wanted to shoot her for some reason.

(On a side note this and fallen hero are my favourite series they are neck to neck, good job @MichaelMaxwell this is just amazing!)

Ooh boy! I just got back from a whole lot of mess! Sorry for the absence… but I’m guessing you’re all unfortunately used to it…

Time to reply!

Token error.

Apparently the game thinks whenever you buy that suit it gives you the regular suit instead…

FIXED!

Typo, fixed!

That a seriously good continuity error find. Awesome job!

Another good find! Thank you!

… Also this is what I mean when I sometimes have absolutely no idea what I’m writing half the time.

I’d wake up the next day not knowing what I wrote last night    … I think I may have some memory problems…

As for the first question: You’re going to need have a small compact pistol with as little accessories as possible. I’ve raised the requirements so you can have a good enough compact sidearm and pass it through. You’ll also have to go through the incognito check, so there’s that… as for the Don tackling… that choice was not supposed to be there…

FIXED!

As for the second question… you will be reunited with the kitten when you arrive at Greg’s church… and apparently the game doesn’t register it, so FIXED! You should now be reunited with her as soon as you arrive at Greg’s church!

In which chapter did you change this? And could you send me the variable list from the show stats screen?

This… is a discussion I’ve had with Ben numerous of times…

Ben would say yes, I would say no… the MC is whatever you as the reader decides they would be. If they’re a cold blooded killer, be my guest, if they’re a kind vigilante, by all means, go right ahead.

But the one thing the MC can’t do, is kill a main NPC from the FBI and the Archangels faction, due to a number of reasons, most of which are spoilers for the next game. Long story short, if Megan were to die, I need Michael to be the killer.

Another reason is that I’ll need to both write in a scene for you the MC shoots Megan instead of Michael, and code in the the specific outcomes and alter a couple of the existing story arcs. I’m also going to have to rewrite a few future scenes both in this game, and in the next.

Ben, is apparently okay with this… I am not… I value not having headaches… I’m sorry

P.S.: Please add spoilers. Thanks!

Thank you very much! It makes me happy to know that this game, even though it’s been quite a long and painful journey, it may be worth it…

But I want to tackle him ! Just kidding, it doesn’t really matter to me if I tackle him or not. My question now is; if that choice wasn’t supposed to be there, then why is it there?

As I’ve said…

When I looked into the codes, it was just there, a choice with an empty consequence, nothing written beneath it. Just… a choice. I decided that drunk me apparently wrote about it and forgot to write anything for it so I decided to trash it when I realized that The Don is too far away for you to try and tackle.

I am glad you put lot of work and time in to Breach

Well, if you want, you can have that if our agility were high enough, we could almost catch up to the Don while also dodging the bullets his bodyguard will be shooting at us, but then have that we don’t notice Sorez disengaging from Gabriel and goes to tackle us to the ground until it’s too late. From there have that the bodyguards stop shooting at us (because they don’t want to accidentally hit Sorez) and continue to run with the Don. Meanwhile, the MC and Sorez’s fight could basically be a ā€œcopy and pasteā€ from the choice to help Gabriel (the one where we chose to tackle Sorez)… speaking of that scene; how is it that the headbutt Sorez gave us affects us at all? We are wearing a bullet proof mask! If anything the headbutt should have made it easier for us to win!

And on the topic of Sorez, I think it was a bit of a missed opportunity to just basically kill him off in the explosion of the warehouse. Why not tie him up, bring him with us (blind folded, obviously), and then interrogate/torture him for information later?

heya. Minor mistakes here, but every bit counts, right?

Summary

This should be: Reville cuts her off

And then…

Ended should be end, how should be capitalized.

Very minor, could be my own error. But…

image

I believe that the ā€œofā€ should be lowercase. Or maybe just call him the police chief.

And…

image

Joy, a last name, should be capitalized.

image

Recent should be lowercase.

Final one for now…

Something about the structure seems off, as if Revile was asked a question in between these two paragraphs.

And a note on commas. There seem to be far too many that signify the end of paragraphs. Then again, I could be wrong.

Anyways, that was all.

Edit: like 10 minutes later…

this:

Should just be scream

I’ve been playing COG and IF games for years, and I have to say BREACH: The Archangel Job is some of the most fun I have ever had playing a game, and is undoubtedly my new favorite. Sorry Slammed! you’ll always have a special place in my heart!

Anyway, other than the disappointment of the game ending, I noticed a bug close to the end.

I wanted to see if during the fight with Gabriel, Rook and Bishop if I could actually kill them… and well, I did. Even though, how is it possible that I relate to both Bishop’s childish immaturities and Rook’s mature, ā€œI’m tired of this shitā€ eyerolling nature. But yeah, Gabriel shot Bishop and I shot Rook, the text made it seem as though they were dead and Luna was mine! But then, in that scene in Gregory’s Glorious Goods where you are going out to hang out with everyone, there is an option to hang out with Rook and Bishop, and even try to beat them in chess. Now, I’m all for forgive and forget, but I feel somehow that that wasn’t meant to happen.

… Wow… t-that is a damn good idea!

Again, that is a really good idea! Wow, if I had enough money I’d hire you for ideas

As for the other suggestion, I already have an interrogation planned… but I think I can put something in from the suggestion. Thanks!

Mhm! Like I said, so long ago Nitpicking is encouraged!

Also, FIXED!

Coding error… FIXED!

Oh wow! Thank you! I’m so sorry that this game is such under slow development, but I can assure you, I WILL finish this game!

Rook: Immortality, bitches! Hah!

Coding error… FIXED!

… I wonder how many people actually ended up killing Rook and Bishop… I’ll put that in the next post with the polls for Gabriel’s suspects

Sorry for breaking this up into two posts but, another issue with the Bishop/Rook bit

After you kill the two best characters, and you take Luna(which movie is that gun from btw? I can’t seem to remember, but I refuse to google it! And I remember the barrels could spread, which was cool as heck.) but game still keeps referring to your own secondaries that you had before. I dual weilded the FN Sevens, and I even sold one to see if that would switch Luna to my only secondary but that didn’t work? So can there be like an option where you decide to either keep and use Luna and get rid of your other secondaries or get rid of Luna? Plus, does Using Luna give extra intimidation stats? I feel like I’d personally soil myself if someone pointed a gun with two barrels in my face. I can barely keep my underwear dry when someone points a gun with one barrel in my facešŸ˜‚.

Also, will we ever get to rob the small bank? I just feel like Kiadan got better missions than us. Assassinations and robbing an armored car?! Cool as hell. Especially the armored car, reminds me of The Town, and bank robbery is the ultimate heist movie/game trope. Pretty please?

And, can we buy Mouse a present? Like we did for Hayne, buying the rifle? Mouse was almost drooling over that Aria diamond ring, and I thought we’d atleast get a chance to offer it to her after the heist. Or regift Gabi’s necklace, like the true scumbag that we are. I wouldn’t mind a section in Gregory’s shop that was dedicated only to gifts, like guns, jewelry, a hacking kit. I dunno, money is my love language lol. Or can we atleast take Mouse shooting since she said she has never fired a real gun? Mouse deserves the world, let me give it to her.

And more nitpicking. If Gabriel’s sister founded the Archangels, wouldn’t she be a Michael? Are there more than one Michaels? Since Gabriel did say that they are working independent of the Canada chapter of the Archangels? Or is there a God? Who oversees all Archangel Operations? Is that a spoiler? Are you annoyed with the amount of questions I’m asking? Will we ever be able to spar with Gabriel with some probably DC:40 rolls because Gabriel is our true Archangel Messiah?

And am I the only one that kinda feels useless at times? Like Michael is taking on an army of guards, Gabriel is taking down 7 FBI agents unarmed, Raquel is being her silent, cat loving badass self, Kaidan is taking down four guards in two seconds in his own legendary gunslinging way, while our MC is just kinda there. Picking off the scraps of whoever is lucky enough to not face the fearsome foursome. I just feel like, I dunno, maybe it’s hero envy, but the MC doesn’t truly matter. You lead a team of skilled people who’d probably be fine without your help anyhow. The most badassness and ā€œwow I’m coolā€ I felt in the game was when you shot at Rook and he seemingly died. because you felt like, ā€œOh wow, I just took down a skilled killer,ā€ but then the game just moved on and the only true acknowledgement of your actions was Luna being your secondary while also not being your secondary and that nice Lady’s daughter probably ending up dead in some ditch with a needle in her arm. Again, I loved the game, proved by the fact that I played it to fruition about five different times, but it’s most because of the story, the fact that not many people successfully protray this genre on IF games, and the characters are just so likeable. Not like the Infinity Series where you feel like, ā€œWow, this regiment is dependent on me. I have importance! I fail, this war/battle is lost and people die.ā€ In this, you mess up, you probably get shot or something and your Ramiel or one of the fearsome Foursome cleans up your mess for you and we move on. You’re an above average guy/girl surrounded by true masters. The story revolves around you, but it isn’t truly about you. Just my two cents and me being nitpicky, as I said, enjoyed the game alot and I’m looking forward to the next update.

Ah yes, I’ve been trying to fix the fact that the game won’t register Rook’s pistol as an actual weapon. I’ve managed to get it to work but it sometimes won’t work… this is due to the fact that the gun has two barrels and acts as if you’re dual wielding the thing…

… which brings to mind how Ben managed to even allow you to choose to dual wield the gun that already has two barrels…

Hopefully, I’ve fixed this…

As for when it came from, I actually got the inspiration from the movie Green hornet. The double barrel desert eagle is fun and all but I figured something more realistic would fit the game’s tone (Says the guy who puts magical baseball bats that turn enemies into dust into the game…)

The Arsenal Double Barrel 1911… also known as Luna.

… And yes, Luna actually does give you a very slight intimidation boost… in fact just for that comment, I think I’ll up the intimidation modifier!

Yes. You will be able to rob the small bank… not only that, in the second part of chapter 4, and sometime after the start of chapter 5, you’ll get to assassinate and possibly even kidnap people if you choose to do so…

… Boy this is gonna be a lot of work. But It’s so gonna be worth it!

Awweee~

Yes. You can buy every hangout members in the game a present to both boost your relationship with them, and also boost their performance when on missions. It just so happens that each character has different points in their hangouts where you can buy them presents. For Anna and Hayne, you can buy them presents at their first ever hangout. For Charlie, his second. For Carly, her third. And so on and so forth. Each person has their own story arch, and character development, so have patience!

As for the gift shop section of Gregory’s Glorious Goods, this was once a thing, but I decided to scrap it due to the fact that I wanted people to go through each of the hangouts to upgrade and improve their crew members.

Money can’t buy true relationships!

Rook: But it can buy you some company!~ ... And a jet ski, and a minigun, and a whole lot of other fun stuff!

Oh don’t worry, Mouse’ll get her true test of a real firearm later in the game… :smirk:

Nope. Gabriels came first…

Yes…

Depends on who you ask…

Yes…

Nope! Keep them coming if you want!

Gabriel is only human, and he can die… albeit he’s very stubborn at being dead. Raquel is the only reason he’s alive. Without her, he’s as good as dead.

But a 1 vs 1 sparring session with Gabriel would be feasible. With the right mindset, and the right tactics you can beat Gabriel in an unarmed battle. Many would think he’s an amazing hand to hand fighter… he’s not. Compared to Michael, he’s incredibly weak. (As seen when Gabriel can’t break the reinforced glass, but Michael can) Gabriel’s advantage is always the fact that he’s unpredictable and fast thinking. Always one step ahead in a fight.

Rook can easily beat Gabriel in a 1 vs 1 due to his speed and stamina. Bishop can beat Gabriel in a 1 vs 1 due to his endurance and constitution.

… Give Gabriel a firearm, on the other hand, and he’ll even out the playing field.

Aaah, yes… fear not, for this is intentional.

The fact that Rook’s bravado was his downfall was a debate me and Ben had a few times. With the fact that you as a character never truly get to kill much of the main characters as much as you ā€œget themā€ killed is a toll which we intentionally wish to put on the MC…

Killing Rook does have it’s consequences…

Oh dayumn! Thank you very much! I honestly feel tired after just going after two run-throughs of my own game

Thank you very much! This game is so hard to develop due to the fact that I write in a ā€œwhat ifā€ basis. And every actions don’t always have consequences, but they do have different paths. Not every choice matters… but none of the choices are just a filler.

This game is so big I sometimes stumble and forget what I wrote the night before, let alone months or even years ago.

That… wow… Y-You just broke down exactly what I’m trying to do…

The game does put you down below, it starts you in a prologue where you actually do some damage and have power over simple things… but then you’re thrown into a world where everyone else is much more capable and knows so much more than they’d let you know. Slowly and surely, you’re given your own time with the heists and missions later in the game…

Sure you get to break open jewelry stores and hack ATMs without even raising an alarm… but Gabriel and Michael brought you along to go through the single most deadliest infiltration and exfil of your entire life, going up through an entire tower that wants to kill you, and then back down again…

The game makes you feel as if you’re the king of the small fries, and even smacks you across the face to tell you just how much you’re not ready for this world in Chapter 4…

But this is why Chapter 4 and 5 is so hard for me to write, because it’s where you as the MC will truly shine, as the pressure starts taking a toll on the trio, with Gabriel starting to lose his edge, to Michael slowly grinding the relationship friction between him and Gabriel, and Raquel, broken after the loss of her family, and Kaidan gone to set up the premise for the next game… you as the MC, are the only one left…

Chapter 4 and 5 will be very hard on you, but it’s going to be absolutely rewarding…

Good luck!

Thank you! Oh boy, I still remember my first thread… that died right quick  and now this one’s reached over 2k posts… oh how time flies in 3 years…

EDIT: … Jesus, that’s a long reply

I’m glad people are enjoying the ring designs we made. And I agree, Mouse deserves everything we can give her, she’s so cute!

Because sometimes, shooting someone twice, just isn’t enough.

Yes! It was the Green Hornet! Kato! My karate kicking son! I loved that movie. I have the DVD somewhere and I’d go watch it but uh…its 2018 and I have no idea where to find a DVD player. My PS4? Maybe? Is it on Netflix? I’ll have to check.

The outfit’s outfit doesn’t stand a chance!

I mean Money did bring Rook and Bishop into our lives, so it has it’s uses.

Oh? If that’s the case…have we already met Gabe’s sister? Because I think I know who it is…and this maybe be a half court jumper, but there was a certain scene with a certain someone in a certain place that didn’t sit right with me. And that’s as vague as I can get without saying who it is. But it’s nice to know that Gabe’s brother is adjusting to life well and has followed in his footsteps. Again, shot in the dark, but I feel like I’m right on this, I can feel it!

I mean, he did take down Kaz in a fight and that’s our resident tank! I mean, he beat up dudes in an allayway, ran back to the octogan and still won his fight! What a beast! And well, he probably was full of Bravado going into the fight, thinking he could easily overpower little Gabe, but it was still no small feat.

Ah the Tragic Hero. Et tu GabĆØ?

Well the fact that this is planned, and this feeling of futility is not accidental, but intentional somehow made me even more excited for the future updates of this game. And I was already clutching my phone, wishing the game was already out for me to enjoy and devote weeks of my life to. I truly enjoy this game and cannot wait for what happens next.

And I feel like as writers, you guys don’t get enough appreciation for what you do. You take your time to sit down and develop games like this for us, and create a world that the rest of us could only imagine, and allow us to make something of that world with truly amazing writing, competely likeable characters( I mean really, I don’t think there has been one character that was introduced and I thought, ā€œEh, let’s hurry up and get past this person.ā€ Even the Don’s Step-Brother. He was entertaining and I felt a bit bad when he died, even when Gabe told us what he did, I kinda chuckled to myself and thought, ā€œYeah that seems like something our boy would do.ā€) and a truly immersive plot. So, on behalf of everyone on this thread, I wanna say thanks to you and the others who’ve made this game what it is. You guys are the true archangels.

Wow that was sappy. Raquel would be ashamed of me.

Oh yeah, I expect these same beautiful ring designs when Mouse decides to make me the happiest Hardened Criminal in the world as asks me to marry heršŸ˜‚.

There’s been questions as to why Rook and Bishop, who are later to be revealed as good friends with Michael and Gabriel, willing to kill Gabriel, and why Gabriel was willing to kill his own former teammate the he has little to no quarrel with.

This is will be later revealed in Rook’s hangout when he reveals more information about The Cartels, and how they’ve actually got both Rook and Bishop in a stranglehold.

In normal circumstance, the would just laugh it off and call it day, forgive and forget, but Rook and Bishop were actually forced into this bounty hunt… something the all-knowing Gabriel doesn’t know, which caused Rook his life.

Had Gabriel known that, he would’ve tried to talk things down, since fighting Rook at close quarters with Bishop on over watch would mean death for Gabriel… which, in the end, was technically true if not for the fact that Raquel was there

Oh wow… I never really realized how much people really enjoy this game. It feels like everyday, I’m surprised by the amount of people who actually read and enjoy the game…

Wow… alrighty then, thank you!

Jesus, I’ve been getting a lot of these compliments lately, I feel like I should work on the game more. And so I SHALL!

Rook: You still have work to do...

AFTER WORK, I SHALL!

… Funny enough, The Don’s step-brother is actually based after a person I absolutely hate and is constantly annoyed by. Which was why it was somewhat of a relief to write his torture scene . He was designed to be hated so that you as the MC don’t feel bad about torturing him later

Wow, thank you so very much, I have absolutely no idea what to say… I feel like I should have a speech or something. Those who’ve made this game what it is is everyone in this thread. Everything from the cameo NPCs to the ridiculous weapon designs (The baseball bat the turns people into dust, the handheld chainsaw, the toilet armour, and so much more) are all suggestions given by people here who’ve contributed so much to the game… even when they don’t intend to.

… especially when they don’t intend to.

Be careful about what joke suggestions you give, because they may or may not be brought into the game

Raquel: ....

Ah yes, the romance endings… I’m so excited to write them whenever I finish Chapter 5. Some of them are ridiculous, others are either very sad or very happy… so many endings… so many things to write…

… WHERE’S MY COFFEE?!

Rook: Doctor says you're not allowed to drink coffee anymore, remember?

Oh right… WHERE’S MY APPLE JUICE?!

Hey, if you suddenly decide to start paying me, I’m not going to say no :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:. All joking aside, it honestly just feels good for me to get some of these ideas out of my head, whether they get used or not (admittedly it feels better when they do get use).

In one of my playthroughs, I did… but not my main one (I find Rook too entertaining to kill). Oh, speaking of Rook, I forgot to say this before, but I actually like that you have him occasionally speaking Spanish! It actually makes it so much easier for me to give him a Spanish accent… although, it seems to lean heavily towards Mexican…

Speaking of Rook (again), for some reason I can’t hangout with him before the Velvet Cuts heist… it’s grayed out…

C-can we buy Gabriel a gift :flushed:?

So speaking of Gabriels and Michaels and all the other Archangels, are there going to be any Lucifers?

I just kind of assumed that the reason he was so ā€œweakā€ in that scene was because he was sick…

Speaking of that scene; before the smoke cleared out, @MichaelMaxwell you made it a point to point out that Gabriel’s mask came flying out of the ā€œbattle groundā€. My question is, as we are leaving the warehouse, is it possible to have my MC pick the mask up and take it with her? And then, when she finally meets up with Gabriel in the hospital, gives him his mask back? I know he won’t put it on while in the hospital (for obvious reasons cough the cops cough). I just thought… I don’t know… that it would be nice to just give it back to him… even though he probably has many others just like it…

Wait what? Noooooooooooooooo, not Gabriel :scream:!

Here’s another question that kind of breaks my heart to ask, but can we give the kitten to Raquel? I know Raquel doesn’t like the fact that I took the kitten. And honestly, in the scene where Gabriel reveals that her pride are all killed off, I always tell her that one of them survived. I know that she doesn’t like it, and that she looks like she’s about to kill me, but the reason why I tell her about the surviving kitten is more to give her a form of hope. By her reaction (and the fact that her stats doesn’t change), I doubt it gives her much hope. I just feel so bad for her. I know what it feels like to lose a furry loved one, but not to the extent that Raquel lost. The pain I felt, Raquel probably feels that pain times 100. I just kind of want to give her the kitten to at least help a little with her grieving.
