Oh gosh, I’m blind lol thank you so much
So, is the person marrying the MC among this list, or are they not even an available RO? because not going to lie, that’d be hilarious.
If you mean our spouse, they are not a RO. More about here:
Even more drama for the future, most excellent.
By the way, check out the blog if you want more details on the ROs – I’m doing individual sneak peeks on Fridays for the Bodyguard, the Advisor, and the Priest, in that order! This post outlines the schedule for those sneak peeks.
OH HELL YEAH. My MC and them are gonna be MLM/WLW solidarity.
This is a good game So far, I can’t wait for chapter 1.
my only Problem with the game is how the Duke Talks down to us like we are a common knight commander but in we fact a member of the royal family I think we should have the ability to remind him that he is of a lesser house, a lesser person, not am I royally but I am the leader of the king armies and the fact that he is in my camp Here I am only second to the king himself and I will be shown the proper respect from clarified Clark. Not That this would be important to the game just so I would like the option to remind him of his place.
But on the matter of the continuing Story I would like to see our character to lead a coterie of pro war veterans Who want to see Justice for all the blood the empire took So my character uses his position to make political and militarist allies who he promises, wealth influence, or just some respect to, It would be an interesting Take to overthrow empire from the Inside.
Good work so far!!!
Enjoyed it. The king and sis annoyed a bit mostly the king for saying defeating the champion was a mistake but it’s his fault for not informing anyone about peace treaty talks in the first place
Yeah I feel the same about not telling MC the plan and suddenly blame MC for that.
Thank you for your feedback!
The duke is definitely out of line with how he talks to the MC. There are a few options the MC can take that put him in his place, but one of the more satisfying options is limited to a MC with a high intimidating stat. I’m currently editing the prologue to accommodate a toggle for tone indicators; I may play around with the options more to give the MC more opportunities to express their inner thoughts, that aren’t just limited to being intimidating. I’m also strongly considering making the outcome differ depending on the stat instead of making the option’s availability dependent on the stat.
Sorry to randomly chime in here but I saw this and wanted to add that I think making the choice(s) is available is a good idea. Also, I’m not sure which choices affect the intimidation stat (I picked stoic options throughout and ended up 52% charming), but since this is still only the prologue and we’re still getting familiar with the character it may be worth considering changing the choice to one that alters our intimidation stat instead of testing it.
That’s a good point! The test was for the stat to be 55 since it is the prologue, but to be more fair, I might just either not have the test at all or include similar options for each of the other personality stats.
Thoughts on which would be the better route?
Personally, I think no test at all is probably the better choice at this point. Mainly because making new tests for every stat and trying to implement them here seems like more hassle than it’s worth. But also because, at least in my run, I only ended up with a single stat above 55 (Stoic, 59). The other stats changed by only 2% or not at all for ruthless/merciful, so I kinda feel like more opportunities to alter stats would be better than tests.
That said it comes down to what you’re feeling as the author. If you decide it’s worth it to make a test for every stat, then go for it man. Because if you have a test for each then the choice changes from “you can do this special thing if you happened to develop the right stat” to “you can do a different special thing depending on whichever stat you developed most”. And even this early in the story everyone should have at least one strong stat that they’d feel satisfied with.
tl;dr - no tests would easier, but tests for all should work well too.
The more I think about it, the more I think you’re right in your initial assessment that having no stat check in the prologue is preferable. It should really be more focused on building the character first – and allowing the player to figure out how the stats options are written.
Thanks again for your feedback and advice. This is why it’s so valuable to have early testers!
It’s seriously my pleasure! I’m getting to read an awesome story for free, so if offering feedback helps even a little then it’s the least I can do!
Loved the demo! Definitely keeping on eye out for updates!
Do we choose which is the gender of the Empress/Emperor, does it fit our MC sexual orientation or is it always opposite gender to our MC? Sorry to ask, I didn’t get it from the description.
I mean, since the person we’re set to marry is not a RO, the odds of them automatically switching to the MC’s orientations are low. My guess would be “always the opposite gender”, since that’s what makes the most sense for an arranged marriage, but I guess they could be a set character too.
In my run it’s automatically set to emperor, I guess it automatically set to opposite gender.
Either way it’s doesn’t matter much Emperor/Empress is not one of the RO.
I see, thanks for replying! I missed that there is an option with content warning in the beginning of the game.
