Also I hope it’s not rude but like what’s your writing style? Do you write stuff on the fly as ideas come to you randomly or do you have it mapped out and are only tweaking and adding bits here and there?
You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to and I hope it’s not too personal.

Actually it’s a somewhat complex process: First I imagine a scene I want to add like a theater scene where the curtain opens etc. Let’s take as an example the horseback ride with the boys at Netherfield Park, it’s a short scene at sight, but before writing it as I please or as ideas come to mind, I have to corroborate and search for information for example what types of horses were used in 1811 and more specifically for this type of rides around the property, then I have to research how the MC would be dressed if I want to mention it in the scene - which I do in the demo - I have to look up how a forest would look in autumn, what trees existed at the time since the English elm if I’m not mistaken was extinct due to a plague from the Netherlands but that happened after 1811, basically although I’d like to write whatever comes to mind first I have to search for the correct information so as not to commit anachronisms with the game’s date. Sometimes I do all this on the go although it’s a bit difficult and I depend completely on the internet since I don’t live in England, and I don’t live in a temperate country, I’ve never experienced autumn and that’s why I fantasize about it thinking it’s a scenario from another world, when some people who live in it find it completely normal, anyway I write all the dialogue in a Notepad draft, and then I do the clean version and copy it to Vscode, which is where I program, then I run test with CSIDE to see if the demo gives any errors. Although I also have a lot of information copied and saved in Notebook, I also have to be constantly checking the variables to integrate them into the text, it is complex and slow work at least, to have the level of interactivity and detail that Autumn Winds can offer.

Although I have an affinity or I’m quite good at remembering history topics so it’s not as complicated as it seems, although I’m terrible at math.

this error triggers at the end of the skill point section and i cant continue

I just checked the demo files and I’m not getting any error. But that error if I’m not mistaken is quite common in CoG demos, I recommend that you clear the cache and unnecessary data from your browser then try to play again or save and see if it works, if not send me a screenshot of the part that generated the error.

Also I forgot to ask about something else. I can’t seem to access the character, estate or history options in the stats menu. Is it a bug or something you just haven’t implemented yet? Because it just returns me straight to the main story.

Yes, that part hasn’t been implemented yet.

Sorry that I keep on asking but will having ancestral heraldry have a significant impact later along the chapters? And do we still get to select our hall and park because because with the dragon option it just shows unknown there.

sorry, I didn’t mean the first one, but the third: “In the window, you catch the reflection of a fair-skinned gentleman. He appears to be…”

If the MC has the ancestral dynasty, the changes will be in their ancestral home in Leicestershire. This will be specified later in their house, name, appearance, etc. I didn’t include this because that route’s dynasty history was very long.

Oh yes, the age - if you try to write a word the input won’t accept it, it will only accept numbers. I still need to make some changes to that whole customization part, explaining some things better, and giving more options.

@Garagos Btw, I’ve been waiting for you to ask about hideous ugly MC options ever since this posted up! What happened to everyone’s favourite regency quasimodo gent MC Sebastian Wrexford? :face_savoring_food:

I love this but when you have time (if you ever get time), if you want, you could create other interesting easter eggs for the other dynasties? Otherwise, it seems imbalanced with only the Dragon route have more details. Could have other appearance combinations associated with certain coats of arms, other backgrounds + family history etc

Yes, I thought about adding the full beauty spectrum. Actually, I considered situations with a clumsy and ridiculous MC who wins over the ladies with his personality, but then I scrapped it. If you look at my code in detail, you’ll notice that the most important and most used variable, if I’m not mistaken, is attractiveness. Taking into account the MC’s beauty for each situation—including ugliness—and creating multiple reactions and perspectives was very complicated, though you could also say that’s a skill issue on my part. Regarding the easter eggs, I can see quite a few, especially with the lions. A good MC always pays his debts.

Nah actually I like the current levels of attractiveness that you have. It may also be because I can’t imagine an ugly jane austen male lead.
Also, will we finally be meeting the Bennet sisters in the next update?

Yes, I thought I had already mentioned it, but in the next part the MC meets the Bennets, and the dancing mechanic gets unlocked, which I’m working on along with some improvements to the parts that are already public.

I’m not ordinarily a lover of cringe but I can’t wait to meet Collins and Lady Catherine in-game. If you can shoehorn in a visit to Rosings somewhere along the arc that would be exquisite.

Are the shades of Ashworth to be thus polluted?!

Never read the book, but this is pretty good so far. Some of the stats seem a little out of place so I’m curious to see how it all fits together.

I am very intrigued! Like some other commenters, I just do not think I’ll be able to bring myself to romance a Bennet. That said Caroline and Georgina both seem very interesting ROs! Not entirely what strategy I would pick for stats, I am never a huge fan of them…
