I want to see Mrs Bennett reaction learning that one of her daughters become a duchess
Them nerves will spike up!!
That is totally possible with the correct stats as one option in the ending subplot. Since the crown is busy with continental Europe, the regent is forced to acquiesce to the Red Dragon MC’s demands. Like an MC making his demands known during the House of Lords session scene. That would be an interesting Easter egg route for a red dragon MC.
Haha, thanks. ![]()
What do you think would be each Bennett sisters favourite thing about fully stats maxed out Marquis MC and why? And what would be your favourite thing about them if you were with them?
I would say that even though Jane would appreciate any quality in the MC, she would be most attracted to an MC who is handsome, charismatic, and kind or humble. Elizabeth would be attracted to a charismatic, sarcastic, or intelligent one. Mary would be fine with anything as long as he isn’t classist or rude, and even more so if he is intelligent or serious, or both. The two youngest would definitely want someone handsome and charismatic like Wickham.
I’m very excited to see what happens when a Marquess who chooses to hide his identity gets unmasked. Fireworks in Chapter 2, perhaps?
Also, have you considered implementing a path for a MC marquess of average handsomeness or poor charisma where our character is nervous of being taken advantage of by a potential RO? Young and with a recently departed father, he may feel nervous about upholding such a legacy and feel that he must defend it.
Everyone would realize the day after the assembly, so more than fireworks, would it be gunpowder?
The charisma statistic doesn’t exist as such, there is Eloquence. It levels to 3 normally if you choose it very low at the beginning of the game, since I realized I didn’t want to make a Collins 2.0. So it wouldn’t be a path as such; it would be more of a resource that Darcy and Bingley’s sisters would use to prevent any romance, Darcy out of concern and Bingley’s sisters due to their snobbery.
I also wonder if Caroline would be the one to spill the beans (especially if she has developed a crush on Marquess!MC).
Speaking of Caroline, will there be a one-sided love route for her, with her crushing hopelessly on an MC that is too polite to firmly reject her?
I also wonder what the Bennet girls will think of an MC that kept his true stature secret for humble and/or kind reasons rather than classist or serious ones. As much as I want to wait for Georgiana so that all the canon couples get their happily ever afters (and Georgiana gets a matchless match), I wonder what you will do with Jane and I am excited to play that route (since you said Bingley/Georgiana end up together if MC courts Jane, I feel less bad about wooing her).
Also, for custom names, it would be nice if we could choose if our lineage was Celtic or not, instead of a custom name defaulting to a Celtic name. Even though the Targaryen or Lannister families would be very powerful and more than capable of being Dragons/Lions of the East
Caroline spill the beans about the Marquis’ title? No, those would be the servants at Netherfield, who would talk among lower-class families, and the news would spread to the gentry class in Meryton, promoted by gossiping matrons eager for a good marriage. As for her route, hmm, maybe at the beginning of both paths, but the only path where I see that passing is in Gentry. The marquis has no need to marry, especially not her if he doesn’t love her.
I’m also excited about Jane’s route. I always found it a bit bittersweet that Austen didn’t develop it much beyond them falling madly, almost fantastically in love. Now let’s focus on Elizabeth and Darcy.
The variable in the custom name was only to allow the dragon’s path to the Marquess, which is something technical behind the scenes, but since you mention it, I’ll see if I can create an option to specify whether the name is Celtic or Anglo-Saxon… Well, I think English for that era.
Ok. I added three origins for the MC family, based on the three most important groups in the history of the island. I checked it and there are no errors. Also, in a future update, I will have to add Norman surnames, but that’s fine.
Interesting. Will all three possible Marquess dynasties have unique stories? Especially since one can opt into the Marquess’s line being especially august.
Yes, although they are not limited to the Marquis route, but also the Gentry route. It should also be noted that the only exaggerated and extravagant routes, so to speak, are the Easter eggs, the dragon route for the Marquis, and the griffin route for the Gentry.
Of course, I still need to write those stories and add them, as I am currently busy planning the dance’s if statements and their different possibilities, so they will not be included in the next update.
I usually name my marq as Maximus and imagine it’s an old holdout roman family from the last isle legion.
That sounds like an epic origin for a dynasty.
Reminds me of (Vinland Saga) Askeladd, lol.
While it would be amazing to have an epic Roman-holdout family backstory for the Marquess, I don’t think it should be a priority. You can always go back and add it after the main story is done, if you like.
I wasn’t particularly drawn to Jane Austen’s work, but after playing the demo, I felt a desire to delve into the world of Pride and Prejudice ![]()
Oh, I’m fascinated by the customization and especially how people react to it! Well done ![]()
If you’d mind asking, will we have more opportunities to customize our MC?
I was thinking how cool it would be to choose the character’s voice type, or even have an accent depending on the lineage you chose ![]()
Will you go back and add what the dynasty is to the default names that don’t give the celticdynasty tag?
I’m glad you liked the customization options and their interactivity in the demo. And that it brings you closer to the original novel and Austen’s work. The truth is that I planned to add singing as one of the options in Netherfield, but I decided against it at the time. I might bring the option back for the next chapter, giving the MC more personality and customization.
Are you referring to assigning them the Anglo-Saxon dynasty variable? Yes, I have to do that with the addition of Norman surnames. I haven’t done it yet because there is still no specific content that requires that variable. As I said, I am focusing on the mechanics and content of the dance. I will add the content on surnames and family histories later.
