If marketed as a comedy of any type it’d be one of those that is so laugh-track dependent that it would fail immediately on television.

really??? i’ve seen many moments in the demo that read as comical, moments with rainn as well. Like the moment with michael actually made me smirk a little, not a laugh but close to a chuckle at least lol. The whole demo gives off a very sitcom-y feel to me, but not in a bad way.
sidebar, i did not expect this much rainn denouncement. I don’t think they’re THAT bad, I think they have terrible communication skills especially for a lawyer lol and they come off inconsiderate but it doesn’t seem intentional. definitely a flawed individual but not the devil

Well, that could be just me; i mean, i’m simply taking the presented events more on a face value, and i find the story is at the very least compatible with such straightforward, soap opera approach. This isn’t to say there’s no scenes at all that are funny, just that i don’t think the game actively tries to be funny all the time, the way you’d get with a sitcom. Regardless of intentions it’s been entertaining so far.
I agree with Rainn opinion btw, while they definitely fucked up this seems more like cluelessness than malice to me (and i think the author mentioned on tumblr their action are based on some sort of trauma) so… i choose to play my MC as more shellshocked and sad than pissed off about the whole thing. At least for the time being.

FINALLY a thread for this game!! 
Tbh I played through a lot of different routes since the demo was updated just to get a feel of who my mc would romance.
My favourite route atm is having a bartender mc who is ex’s with M whilst crushing on atlas lol. There is a scene where mc can cut their hand and mason helps them & atlas sees and yeah it’s just funny
Anyways yeah so far I’m enjoying the game and my mc being single and getting revenge on rainn. Can’t wait to kiss a RO in front of him

I don’t know about you guys, but my MC is going to chew Rainn out the next time she sees him because she asked if there was someone else, she believed him when he said no, and now, two days after he dumped her, he’s seemingly going out on a date and making goo goo eyes at a new person after ending a three year relationship in one of the worst ways possible. Like, what the hell Rainn??? I don’t know, maybe MC is an unreliable narrator, but the description of that scene made my heart hurt. Poor MC. (She did flip him the bird

I want to give Rainn the benefit of the doubt and believe they believed there wasn’t an other person they were interested and even if there was, from the demo and Tumblr, it’s very clear that there was more than one reason for why Rainn thought a breakup was needed. But damn if it doesn’t hurt both me and my MC! Who goes out on a date two or three days after ending a three year relationship??? And okay, maybe it wasn’t actually a date but there is something going on and I don’t like it.

I fell in love with this game right from when I played just the demo. I think there are reasons behind Rainn’s actions. If they intended to break up with MC, they wouldn’t wait until MC was there. They could have abandoned MC with just a message like “we’re done.” Why would they set their phone background as a picture of them and MC together if they no longer had feelings? Because they didn’t have time to change it? We’re only playing based on MC’s perception and it’s just the first chapter of the game. It’s too early to say for certain, but Rainn’s actions, indeed, from an outsider’s perspective, are unforgivable.
Besides R, the love interests that attract me are Cal and A. Cal because they’re already in a relationship. I mean, how can you develop feelings for a character who already has a partner, how will that route develop so that players don’t feel like they’re interfering with or destroying someone else’s relationship, and how will their actions be appropriate in the context and setting of the story. As for A, it’s simply the “I’ll make you believe in love again” type, and above all, I like a challenge

Honestly, I think that relationship is going to collapse on its own. While everything seems perfect on the surface, there are issues beneath like jealousy, clinginess, etc. I think C loves their partner but is also maybe tired of them in some aspects? Maybe tired isn’t the word but the whole “Coming over every night for three weeks.” thing makes it seem like T is clingy and inconsiderate of C and their roomates, while C is a pushover when it comes to the relationship because they want to keep the peace. But on its own, it might end naturally without MC being (too much of) a homewrecker.

Am I right to think that the author said that this was in like a comedy show episodic way like New Girl if so then the trope of a partner being seeing with another person (usually long distance relative or obsure relationship) might be another case which would be sooooo fun

It’s so interesting to see all the different responses people are having to the cliffhanger… For me, I was actually glad to see Rainn be a jerk (potentially cheater) because hopefully that means my silly musician MC can get over him and focus her attention 100% on A.

What I really think about Rainn’s reaction at the end is that it’s probably a family member of some sorts and then saying what the fuck is probably realizing that the MC is in Apt 502.
Still an absolute shitty person though. You’ve been talking about having the MC move in from another state or country, the communication between those two was starting to fall out on Rainn’s part then that shitty reaction when the MC shows up when you’re around your elitist prick “friends” that probably would fuck you over for a promotion at the firm y’all working at. Then trying to offer their place for the MC to stay at for a while might had been a nice idea but it’s still an absolute dick move.
In conclusion, Rainn can go fuck themselves. They can have their little lawyer job and their life plan while I’m gonna go for A or M. At least they’d know how to treat their partner with respect

The what the fuck is written in manner which is used in the story to indicate MC’s thoughts. I think this is meant to be reaction to Rainn’s words which aren’t actually revealed. (until next ep, perhaps)
from the looks of what’s going on in the demo alone it seems like a situation where the MC might be doing Cal a favor by taking them away from their partner because they don’t seem to have a very healthy relationship? this is just what i’ve observed from the demo bc i haven’t checked out the tumblr yet. i think there’s probably going to have to be some “feeling like they’re interfering” and i don’t usually go for routes like that but……i love drama and i want that man. 
can i get a round of applause for pain and suffering?!? (crowd cheers loudly)
