I go along with the narrative for its sake, assuming that my character was in fact taken with Rainn. But to be honest, Iāve never been a fan of people who are obsessed by their work. Me or my character couldnāt care less about how rich and successful that makes Rainn, if anything itās a turn-off.
So while Iād roleplay a character that genuinely grieves for the relationship, they are secretely very happy being able to pursue other relationships than being the side-hoe of someone married to their work. Lmao.
But Iām curious to see how the story will progress and how Rainn will develop over its course.

I donāt think itās so much success and riches powering Rainn, and more āitās something i wanted since i was literally 12ā. Most kids pick some careers they think would be fun at that age but eventually have to revise their lofty goals. Rainn never did, they seem to have this āi was born to do itā mindset and they stick with it. Though it evidently becomes too much for them, bringing them close to a break point.

Oh yeah of course, I think for Rainn it goes way deeper than mere material gain. I was referring more to the choice the MC has of feeling intimidated about being with someone like her, the MCās relationship towards it rather than Rainnās.

Normally when playing these games the way I roleplay is by taking whatever backstory they have for me and figuring out how Iād turn out with those changes. Like, if that happened Iād be more serious, if this happened Iād be more outgoing, etc. So if Iām told this is my best friend, Iāll treat them like they were my best friend, even if irl they probably wouldnāt be.
Unfortunately, me falling so hard for someone through a long distance relationship is unthinkable, since not only have I dumped people cause they moved away, Iāve also lost contact with friends after a month or two of slowly less interactions cause we couldnāt physically hang out.

I am curious as to how this will play out for an MC that is completely done with Rainnās shit. That bridge, to the MC, is completely burned. Does the story continue with Rainn trying to get you back for the entirety of the game? Does he hang around like a bad smell trying to ruin your new friend/relationships? If done well I could potentially see it as being cathartic, seeing Rainn grovel a bit, but if done poorly I could also see it being frustrating to the player (like some have expressed above about āgetting overā Rainn).

Oh man, this is the first time in a long while I audibly went āwait no not yet!ā At the end of a demo.
Thereās so much about this that I love that canāt fit into a coherent comment, but I had been in a bit of a reading slump recently and today I was fully immersed in the story that after every moment I was silently thinking ādonāt stop hereā.
I seriously cannot wait for more of this, I donāt even know who I want my mc to get with cause everyone is so well written, hell I even went in thinking āalright the person that dumped them is off the tableā but nope, not even them
