When you are a pup, you’ll want to #Explore the surrounding lands.
The second time you do this, you should get the chance to burgle the house.

Just wanted to say I read the demo and loved it! I have a soft spot for the more “game-y” ChoiceScript games. Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy (hopefully soon!) I have to ask, though, why are your orcs so GREEN?
Perhaps the only question that really matters.
Alas, I am not up to the task.
Some say it is the nature of walking cabbages.
Some say it is so they can hide in the bushes and ambush the plumptious halflings.
Or, maybe they are generally queasy from stuffing too much plumtiousness into their bellies.
Maybe because Krog is a jealous god?
They seldom ponder the nature of their green; it just is, and therefore it must be good. Although I’m sure the shamans will indulge in many a loony-whisper to explain it far better than I.
I am honoured you have noticed my game, @Kate27 ! It is a broad adventure where the hero isn’t quite who we usually expect… indeed, hero may mean something different here. I’m happy you enjoyed the orc parenting simulator bit, haha. Aletheia Knights suggested it should be called Orcer Ego (like the game Alter Ego).
There is an in-canon (sort of) cheat mode in the Western Hills. If you climb to the top of the mountains and speak to the old lady, she can help. This isn’t necessary, but it allows someone to explore without worrying about stat checks as much- just in case, as long as we survive orc childhood.
I really enjoyed making Green. When/if you come back to it, I hope you continue to enjoy it too.
Or maybe you based your Arbit Orcs on typical orc stereotypes (No offense)
To be fair, im fairly sure a lot of inspiration for his orcs came from Warhammer Fantasy, down to the vegetable/fungus reproduction method. And im pretty sure they were one of if not the first to propagate the image of orcs as big green chunguses. Which then passed fown to Warcraft, which then propagate everywhere else.
All orcs, in the modern fantasy form, of course, derive from Tolkien, though they can be traced back further to stuff like Beowulf, where they get mashed up with goblins and fell spirits in general. Warhammer forms a major part of the primordial vapours which created my orcs. I didn’t want orcs that were the same as humans ‘except for being green’. Warhammer-style orcs are very funny, too.
Among various old D&D and Tolkien-inspired artists (long after LOTR was published but before Warhammer Fantasy Battles), orcs were depicted as green, but Warhammer certainly popularised it. ‘Babies found in cabbage patches’ come from various folklore traditions, and rising from the ‘ashes’ is a common trope which I used literally for my own take on mushrooms and spores. Also, cabbages are most commonly green… so it makes sense for my orcs to be green since their baborcs are extremely cabbagey.
My orcs are barbarian football hooligans, for sure.
Consider my orcs a mashup from all over the place, from movies, memes, books, art, and all that jazz—I think I’ve said this lots of times back in the early days of this game. However, the orcs I know best are the Warhammer ones, so they probably snuck into the final rendition a bit more than the others.
I also feel like that you also based your orcs on the Warcraft Series
There are red cabbages! That actually are purple (or blue if boiled or acidified). So there’s a ground for a DLC/sidestory (written in super flowery, pompous, adverb-ladden style) about snobby and spicy red offshoot of green boys. ![]()
Ha! You know, as soon as I wrote the green cabbage sentence, I thought, 'What would purple baborc orcs be like?" There are ample possibilities for a story here!
I do mention purple orcs during the Dark Lord/Demon route. Here, it is a curse (or a sickness) of immeasurable embarrassment to the green gits. But the world has unexplored places, where purple (even blue) orcs may abound.
(The horror, boiling and acidifying poor baborcs!!! I’m sure it’d raise a guffaw or two around the firepit.)
This image disgusts me to an inherent level for reasons i do not know.
