A Mage Reborn, Book Two (WIP) - UPDATED April 5th, 2025 | Book One Released!

I am quite curious about how my ex friends and the love of my mcs life will feel when I turn up after they betrayed me;> also in the end do they like realize that what I was doing was to save the kingdom is that why he went into his room for a week and I got the title as hero?

yes.

Oh no, this demo made me feEL-

Can I just say I loved this? The plot and world-building is great, the characters are so lovable, and the angst hits hard. Though, there is a bit of an issues with Eli’s pronouns. I chose F!Eli, though in a few of the choices it refers to her as he/him. I believe it was in the flashback with the armlet and the rescue mission? Other than that, everything is really good and I’m looking forward to the next update!

I am so torn between romancing one of the White Fangs and telling them we probably won’t see each other again, because my MC fully expects to die on the quest… although not the way that it happened.

Ilya or Elia.
Hard to choose. Both have done a lot for mc when mc at their worst.

Somehow, that got posted on the wrong topic. This isn’t Mind Blind. :upside_down_face:

When you have had three hours of sleep for two days straight, I guess that’s what happens.

Hey I romanced Leon and I think I said to IIya once if she wanted to have fun - but nothing serious. Took all the Leon moments like a real Leon-stalker should and then enjoyed my well-earned prison time. Got the Leon-hates-your-guts now scene and then Illya tells me she loves me, and I’m like what? Ok, I love you too my friend…like I totally missed that because I never flirted with her like ever again but that one first fling ask of mine.

Then I get the remorse scene where she’s like “Wow, I loved him so much all our beautiful moments together…”. Ilya you literally saw how Leon and my MC reacted with each other when I searched for a counter-measure for the seal thingy. (The longing looks weren’t for show)

So my question is: Was that intended? Does IIya always love the MC when they flirt once? Is the MC irresistible?

Thanks for the great WIP I really liked it can’t wait to read more!

Came across this on Tumblr.

Funny thing to see this one listed there though. While our mage mc may have been noble by birth they have never really enjoyed that status as an adult except for a couple of days as Leon’s courtier bodyguard before all hell broke loose.
I am sure sister’s shadow reign will have made sure there is nothing of the mc’s mother or her noble house for us to reclaim and for my mc it is moot anyway since all of that belonged to a very different life before he died.
Speaking of dying our current status as a slave is of course the diametrical opposite to being nobility. :unamused:

All I am saying is do the guys who write these recommendations actually know the contents of what they are talking about because Mage Reborn only fits a very stretched technical definition of the mc being “nobility”. Mostly they have been a kidnapped torture subject, cleaning boy at an inn, adventurer, retainer/knight and now, on the low point, a slave in all but name.

But that post is about either MC being nobility or royal, or the game containing a romance with a royal, and Leon’s romance fits that bill?

I’d also say technically since the mc meets Leon as an adventurer and, at present, can only start the romance with him when they are fellow adventurers. It is true the romance can carry on after the revelation and even the mc’s death. Still…well maybe I hold different standards as for what counts. I also wouldn’t count the Alistair romance in DA:O as the dynamic there is also something between adventuring buddies first and foremost.

Anyway the mc themselves being born a noble is, I suspect, done mostly for author convenience, I imagine so they have a good education, table manners and can actually believably hold their own at court or in conversation with nobility and royalty. Still the mc is at the moment the opposite of any sort of “noble”.

Oh yeah, certainly, I don’t consider MC as a noble - just nobleborn.
It’s as you said - they were stripped of everything they had, as far as their nobility go, aside from the education, and since they were not a noble in Param, they didn’t have exactly that status there either, during the short period when they were Leon’s retainer - at least, I assume / the way I see it.
With that being said, they technically ARE a noble of Arcadia but eh, hard to see them as such for the moment, considering their status of prisonner / slave.

But I 100% consider Leon a royal - couldn’t even imagine anything else
I assume the people who made that recommendation were thinking about Leon being a prince rather than MC coming from a noble house. Especially since you learn about Leon relatively early - you do so prior to the half point of the Part One of Book One, so yeah, I think it’s safe to consider him to be a royal RO.

Indeed, of course my mc doesn’t want to be anything in Arcadia particularly since he’s not only a slave but soon to be a subject of renewed torture and this time inflicted by his best friend.
I hope our relationship with Eli can survive that…but given how much my mc loathes those experiments and those who perform them that may still be difficult even if he knows Eli is only the tool they are going to use to inflict further torture. :worried:

And, like I said before, for my mc he lost any claims to any sort of nobility the moment he died those things all belonged to someone else in a different life. He is quite literally nothing and nobody now. :unamused:

I only noticed this wip a week or two ago, and I’m glad I did. I always go for the female ros and ilya was a good ro (maybe it was just me but I couldn’t feel that spark). So many people drooling over the Leon romance and got curious. Though I don’t go for the m/m romance most of the time since it’s not my style, I decided to take a plunge and damn! It was really good especially the last scene where you can choose whether to be this story’s version of Itachi or not. I liked the itachi route but that line of seeing the sun one last time on the other route just hit different. I’m looking forward for the next update and I’ve saved up one save slot for elite romance hoping it goes just as great as the Leon one.(I hope ilya romance gets some more magnetism in future updates too)

Just thought it’d be fun to share one of my drafts for how I see Kote’s (who now goes by the name Crow) freshly obtained mask in my head.

Oh, nice!
I’d draw Leith’s too, but he hates the fact he has to wear a mask SO MUCH that I lack the motivation

Ouch, well my mc dislikes the mask options he is given too. Were it up to him he would just wear a lot of bandages on his face and go as the “burned man”. But it is one more thing he’s forced to do as a slave, even if he thinks the mask and dress up act is silly and pointless.

Oh but he loves his mask!
He just hates having to wear it!
He’s pragmatic in regards of things like that, so between the fact it’s really pretty and the usefuleness, he’d gladly keep it once that whole ordeal is over. You never know when you’ll need something like that.
It’s just that well, for someone as strongly pro-Param as he is, it’s infuriating to hide your face from your people. It’s like, being a prisoner and having the escape door right in front of you, but the mask is the chain atm, hiding him from potential rescuers.
