I’ve never read it so I can’t say how similar it is to AMR
half sis/ro? ![]()
is complicated consider it like game of thrones with alabama all in that situation
Lets not forget the part where Tahlia baits a resistant mc with the children.
“You want to save innocents dont you?”
But yeup. Shes totally justified in anything she does. Totally.
Bah, too long again
No, the fact is that the mage killing the saintess saved his goddammed kingdom from certain destruction–and it likely wouldn’t have come to that had Ante not been out to destroy the mage from day one. Had the mage * not* done what they did, Leon wouldn’t have been around to murder the mage and this would all be a moot point.
Even Leon realizes this now. The point is that he didn’t try to figure out what was going on or take the time to actually investigate. He just flew off the handle and acted like one of the mindless peasants that screamed for the mage’s demise with no consideration for what the mage had done up until that point. Leon has a hell of a lot of power, and to go all Uncle Ben, with that power comes responsibility. He’s ill-equipped to deal with that responsibility because he doesn’t think before acting.
If she were competent, she wouldn’t have solely focused on destroying the mage, who was busting ass to help the kingdom. Were she competent, she wouldn’t have fucked everything up and made it impossible to save the kingdom without killing the saintess. So, no, she’s not competent. She’s a liability, one that Leon appears to value because… reasons. It amuses me that, with Ante, Leon can sit back and try to form a rational thought so as not to punish her for * her* crimes, but with the mage, he didn’t bother and just ordered her murder.
No, the mage is betrayed by what Leon did. Not sure why some people don’t get that. That I hate Leon as well is just me, as a reader, not liking that he’s such a weak, stupid piece of shit.
I misunderstood, then, sorry! And yeah, I’m going to try a run like that just for my own fun of seeing it all burn to the ground. I may have to play Nickelback while I do it…
Yeah, I really want my mage to kill Leon, but I don’t think she could do it. She could kill Ante without blinking, though. Too bad castrating the moron king isn’t an option, because I think my mage would go with that–stopping stupid from procreating seems like a good idea.
It would be fitting to play with his heart. But I think an appropriate way of dealing with him is to stick him on a stake an burn his ass to death. Or put a bag over his head and suffocate him–a more personal touch than burning at the stake. I have much harsher ideas, but would likely offend everyone with them. ![]()
What’s that old saying? Any publicity is good publicity? At least we’re talking about it, and everyone is pretty passionate about their stance, so–were I him–I’d take it as a compliment that people keep yammering about it, even if they’re all arguing opposite takes.
My guess, though, is that he’s too busy with the rewrite (and life) to be worried about the forum. Better that he lets us all discuss and keep up the interest, even with the negative views of certain characters, than for people to just forget about it.
Go over to Defiled Hearts. Marcus killed the MC’s father, and is a RO (one whose path I can’t fucking resist playing), so it gets heated.
Thalia’s a piece of shit, too. The only thing she has going for her where my MC is concerned is that she hasn’t burned her at the stake. Yet.
I’ve never watched game of thrones…
war for the west, ok it goes like this our mc dad f-ed a unknown woman for reason that was never mention and from that union came along our older half sister we didn’t know and was appointed our spymaster by our dad to protect us but along the way in that story we had sex with her and our half sis is secretly part of a triad that wanna destroy us to create they own kingdom and after a final battle in the book we learn she did all sort of stuff to lead us to posistion of a king that is uncontested without any rivals
Oh, easy execution.
See edit"/ about making it so we’re uncontested.
Oh not easy execution
Maybe I am Leon.
well atleast we had plot armour in war of the west but we strip of our plot armour thinking we are in the clear in the mage reborn

I mean hurting someone to secretly help them is still a betrayal when you can’t communicate about it. It’s not like they had a precedent for magically forced to not talk about the problem.
Nvm going gremlin mode and hiding away for three months after killing their sister, and suddenly killing the person their sis captured. We were sus as heck and would be. And then our response ranges from actively acting evil to asking for belief with nothing to show for it and looking manipulative.
And after all that if Leon stalled he’d look corrupt with the only excuse being his and his friends guts
Randomly, Screw uncle Ben. Awful line.
Besides then we should be saving everyone regardless considering the super ancient secret Arcadians magic we got.
I mean you can still/also go and circumcise ante. I mean that’s not a hard stop but she probably wouldn’t want to at that point.
Anyways I’m gonna have a conversation with her before I decide what to do. Leaning towards just burning her being done with it though.
Thanks for the explanation. I don’t see similarities to MC’s relationship with Leon… But it’s also quite … hm, good material for fiery discussions, I suppose.
Same here ![]()
I have much more sympathy for him than for Leon. I don’t know, maybe it’s the writing style and humor. Maybe we just spend a lot of time with Marcus, the ‘everyday life’ scenes are more developed than in AMR. I’m not really that mad at him for what he did (although my MC is) he’s too funny and charming… in strange way but he is.
Btw, it’s “Param”. Panam is the country from The Hunger Games.
why do i find this funny when I haven’t watch all the hunger games but just saw a bit of it
Nah, there’s a difference. Leon took the power by taking the throne. The mage was born with abilities. They have a responsibility not to harm, but they’re no more obligated to help anyone than tall people are obligated to help me get something from a high shelf in a store. It’s nice if they offer, but usually I’ve already climbed up the shelves to get what I want before that can happen.
I think that may be it. From a reader’s perspective, I never really warmed to Leon. He’s just kind of a big stupid doofus who has a cool sword. My mage obviously warmed toward him from spending time with him, but we never really saw that much. With Marcus, he’s always around. And he’s kind of a likeable guy. And I love his niece. ![]()
I think another thing that helps Marcus be a more sympathetic character is that he wasn’t friends with the MC first. All the bad shit happened first, and now we’re getting to know him and the MC is getting to know him. That’s kind of a flip to the AMR script, where we got to know Leon before he killed the mage.
All I kept thinking of was PanAm airlines. I don’t even know if they’re around anymore.
I mean going by that Leon was born into power. And got the throne by circumstance.
And by the Raimi films the whole point was hammered home, by Peter, not stopping a guy, with no obligation and it would be helping a guy who actively screwed him over. Not sure how it goes in the comics.
I’m just saying I would totally help all Panera bread, since obviously not everyone is guilty of celebrating and even those that did had a good excuse.
I thought that too. It’s painful. So fucking painful when he was like I love you, promise me you’ll come back and then…
Even if I forgave him and let him live, I don’t see how this relationship would work again.
Marcus was random guy, one of the Roman soldiers. They were all the same to MC.
I mean, everyone is obligated to help one another to the best of their abilities.
Well, acts of kindness, including helping others in need, are encouraged, not obligated. You’re free to ignore ungrateful bastards who take others’ kindness for granted.
The latter thing is completely separate from the former. The former is nonsense.
Well I’ve entrenched myself as y’all have in the same way, all I can do is wait for the update and wait for our sides to come to blows.
Good job to the author cuz sometimes it feels like we read completely different books. But I know Leon will make param great again. Neet to get MPGA hats,
