I’m not talking about you specifically

it did but when it ended it created so many demons that people found inspiration in that belly of the beast which made people just asking for more from something that did not give rise to peace but more wars

the age of nuclear warfare was born, which gave births to bombs that were just not supposed to ever exist but it did

Just to blow your mind, WW2 is technically still ongoing between Japan and Russia as they never had a formal peace treaty. Right now, it’s just a dispute over who owns Hokkaido

It also lead to an era where the mutually assured destruction meant that there have been no conflicts of that scale since.

Just because there are more wars doesn’t mean nothing gets solved. There’s always more wars but that doesn’t mean it’s all one big war.

bruh how are you casually just explaining wars while ignoring the consequences thst follows, like no offence taken :face_with_monocle: u are just stating the benefits of war but not looking at is uglier side

No I know the ugly side. No need to restate it. I just maintain it is still very often necessary. Pacifism isn’t usually viable. All cases of it succeeding had other groups being more violent so the powers that be decided to listen to the peaceful ones to placate the people.

It’s like Orwell said, “Those who abjure violence can only do so because others are committing it on their behalf.”

You state the ugly side of war but you haven’t offered viable alternatives besides “just isolate on the floating island and leave whoever doesn’t fit”.

bruhhh is not that pacifism does not work is because we human beings never strove to achieve peace but to conquer and if there was just a bit of people working for peace they get killed off

If your method of achieving peace only gets you killed and fails to change the status quo, it’s time for a new method.

Nah if the new method only leads to more death because is just too easy, then i will like to follow the rough path to peace

It’s only a path to peace if it works. Which it does not.

and that is what makes peace what trying for because it is diffcult and the most diffcult things are the ones that bear the greatest reward

That makes no sense. You never actually get the peace. You try for peace and die, you said so yourself.

Err… Guys, y’all might wanna start a seperate discussion thread for your war discussion that isn’t directly related to AMR topic.

Summary

I mean, saying that you need everyone to follow pacifism for it to work just mean it doesn’t work until we get convienant mind control. Which doesn’t sound worth it.

Anyway as I don’t believe you owe anyone to accept your death, I’d happily justify a war for survival.

Honestly WW2 is a really good example since it was just a lot of countries got dragged into it. And Japan and Germany were really gross in it. Which inspired grossness in turn. Like WW2 is probably the worst example of we shouldn’t fight in the first place. Pacifism just means you’re accepting death in a way like that

.

Anyway mage wise since we have good standing in Panam I don’t think a war is necessary for our survival. Minus if they complain about us rising from the death. Morally though probably side with Arcadia, and try to get rid of Thalia. In character probably side with Panam due to friends and drag Y over.

hmmm i never get the peace i want true but the same goes for war, atleast with peace u can tame the beast for some years before it rampages again and cause destruction

Your whole scenario is that the group of pacifists get killed. It is unlikely that they will actually “tame the beast”. Most likely the war goes on as normal.
