A Mage Reborn, Book Two (WIP) - UPDATED April 5th, 2025 | Book One Released!

I’m gonna actually disagree with the people saying it’s unlikely.

I think Leon is capable of acknowledging when people have been wronged - even when he’s (or his country’s) the one that’s wronged them.

I agree that it might depend on the relationship MC has with Leon (& maybe even how dedicated to Tahlia’s cause MC is/how powerful Tahlia is at that point, because let’s be honest… Tahlia is very “scorched earth” “we are superior” & I don’t think any leader, in good conscience, could give Tahlia any more power because she can’t be trusted).

— now that I think about it for like five additional seconds, I think the biggest concern for Leon would be how powerful Tahlia is/would be able to become if he did so (assuming that any people that were in that land prior to it being annexed could be relocated as opposed to completely displaced, I suppose)

I sort of agree with bric;
The Moonvein chapter showed pretty clearly he cares about Arcadians, and Leon seems to always want to save and help people, he operated the White Fangs without taking payment from their employers and frequently taking on the “impossible” jobs, and his leadership during the war with Salantir.

The ‘sort of’ is in the how of it all. If stupid Thalia has her stupid way and burns Param to the ground, he’ll die before giving her anything, because she’s evil. If the MC or someone asked him to do it, if Arcadia protested and tried diplomacy with him, I think he would be open to it. IDK if he could do it, but I am pretty sure he would be ok with it, and would certainly understand the merits of it.

I…would have to say it would likely be impossible. Even if Leon did decide to give the former territories back would it even matter? you got to figure it’s been quite some time since Param conquered Arcadia and during all that time how much of that land is actually filled with people who identify as “Arcadian” and on top of that how many of those people are Jovian and would rather stay with the state whose religion backs it. Furthermore the land itself is kind of secondary to what the actual issue is between Arcadia and everyone else, being that whenever the issue is brought up it immediately devolves to “us vs. them”. So who’s not to say that in 2 years the world teams up again to smack down Arcadia and Param would ultimately lose land that they had held for quite some time and invested into. If he did try to go through with it he would probably lose the entire kingdom.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that it wouldn’t probably matter as Thalia’s goal is not reclamation of land, it’s the total annihalation of the institutions that destroyed Arcadia that being the royal family of Param and the Jovian Church.

Who died and made her queen? I want land, and to rediscover our awesome magic. The church can stay, I didn’t change religions.

I mean…all the other arcadians? She, by everything shown so far, has a firm grasp on the remnant Arcadian civilization as a de facto dictator who can even mind police all the members of her country. Kind of hard for her not to be queen at that point…

Edit: I guess technically speaking she isn’t the queen, she would just be the pope in all but name, a temporal leader who acts as a representative of the Ishvak faith that commands the militant arm of their church.

I didn’t vote for her.

I think he might do until, inevitably, Ante and the other higher ups tell him it’s a bad idea. Then he’s stuck between a rock and a hard place. Let MC down again or stop a possible rebellion.

I’ve always wondered what happened to Silcur and the baron after the moonvein plague incident. Was he really killed like he said he’d be?

The baron isn’t really mentioned after they all get back to the capital the war started shortly after but my thought is he didn’t survive his time in cells with the salantir and sister running things. Though perhaps something else happened lol it’s one of those mysterious yet to be resolved if ever it gets mentioned in game or other wise.

Not sure there’s even a concept of voting in this world yet. But I’m sure Thalia will take your suggestion and put it in the suggestion box (it’s the garbage can)

Does this looks like a democracy to you?

Arcadians: can we please have an elected not power-hungry leader who will respect the privacy of our thoughts and will not create an authoritarian police state pls?

Tahlia:

Maybe not officially, but she’ll see where ignoring my opinions gets her.

Imagine if we could get rid of her by voting. I doubt she’d take it well.

Anyone can be deposed by majority rule if you give the majority weapons.

Good luck with that and far as I’m aware the options we currently will have essentially will boil down to nuking one side or the other or both sides lol

I’m surprised Tahlia didn’t use Mireil as MC’s opponent on the day off. That would have been a crazy test for MC.

I believe that she came to the conclusion that there a high chance that MC will use their phantasma and hurt themself even more. Mireil is top-tier mage after all + personal reasons. Too much risk for that useless test.
