It just doesn’t bother me that much. Our goals are the same, brought back to life to fight for a cause the MC believes in, reunited with Eli, expanding magical knowledge, finally finding home and heritage
So yeah the MC is an attack dog but I actually like the shift from hero to assasin

I much liked our previous life. And even if i wanted to like this life there was always that underlying tension, like you know if your loyalty wavers then tahlia will not go easy on you, you are still a prisoner even if you like it. So yes that kind of reminder doesnt sit well with me and never makes me comfortable.
@Edgewen one of my mcs just wants to be done with manipulations and tricks and wants to go back to aunt bess. She just wants to go home.

I also asked the author about freedom in this world and he said not one of these nations is a bastion of freedom. While Arcadia is more authoritarian, the rest are similar and follow a strict hierarchy. And if other rulers had ‘big brother’ powers like Thalia they would rule and run things the same way she does. Leon being the only exception

Which is fair, but Arcadia seems to be this weird sore spot we’re meant to sort out. We’re resurrected over Mireil, Tahlia is outright blackmailing us, and to top it all off, Raegusa shows up with some agency-removing “all arcadians must live” nonsense. Dont get me wrong, given the opportunity my MC would try to move mountains for peace, but right now in the section of the story it feels like we’re trapped from every angle.
Thats actually what makes me most uncomfortable about it all, i think. I get an IF game has limits and i get theres a need to push the narrative, but the way its done and been kickstarted is by outright removing the character’s agency.

I am sympathetic to Arcadians but not Arcadia. Arcadia as it exists is something I can never support under any circumstances. And Thalia, Falco, and everyone like them are the sum total of everything I hate about it.

I see a lot of us are on the ‘murder Leon’ spectrum but I will continue holding out for a peaceful compromise ending. Except for Tahlia. No pact with slavers.

This doesn’t seem to be a popular opinion but my mc doesn’t blame leon and doesn’t want to get either of the brothers killed. there doesn’t seem to be an opportunity to save the brothers without going against anyone I really hope there’s a way my mc can create peace.

It’s weird that I want both a peaceful ending and a nuke ending. I suspect that I have a split personality, lol. And I can’t even make myself feel betrayed by Leon’s decision. I don’t know if it’s because the game starts at the end, or if I just like Leon.

Believe it or not, back when Book 1 was a demo, a LOT of people were defending Leon’s action. If you scroll back to like 1000-2000 comments on this thread, there is a lot of debate on the subject and both sides have good points.
@AdelSad Don’t worry, everyone secretly wants a Nuke Ending for a sole basic reason that its a Nuke Ending.

I liked leon until he killed mc. But still the side story mellowed my anger as he was going through a pretty rough time and will blame himself for the rest of his life. Also his relations with the other two are pretty strained. But I cant fully forgive him so I am just waiting for the reunion to happen and then trying to decide how my mc will react.

E would be on your side no matter what I’m hopeing Y can be convinced because of what happened with there cousin and I can make F fall in love with me. creating a revolution of some sort because the only one standing in the way of peace is Tahlia without outright saying no to her.
