That art is incredible. I don’t tend to truck with anime style art often but that’s a masterwork. Well sought.
Forsake all reason, choose total violence.
We do what needs to be done for the motherland.
Wait, wait. So, book one is coming in august, yes?
I saw someone mention that anything after the execution is book 2(?)
Does that mean, when the game goes up for sale its only gonna cover up to the execution?
The mc robes must be from during their brief courtier phase because normally the mc doesn’t have things that nice…although the metal boots seem a bit impractical.
Yes at this time
Yes anything after execution is part of book 2.
No idea on this one and has me curious to see how it transitions from one to other but the answer I suspect is yes.
Personally, I was thinking we could blow up the capital of Param with a big ass magic spell powered by a human sacrifice.
both will be released as one game/book if I remember correctly, you can say book 1 with execution is like prolougue or intro, then book 2 is the “main event”
Book 1 is coming out now in August. The first book will end with the exoneration scene
Book 2 begins after that and it’s still ongoing
Disclaimer! I really like this story, the characters, the world, the whole package. Please note that criticism is the highest form of flattery and don’t at me
I feel that book one has too many timeskips, especially the war that lasted 2 years. I understand that it is essentially a prequel and its purpose is to take us to book two but It still feels kind of weird.
Something so important for the worldbuilding and for the characters and it is resolved pretty fast from a reader’s perspective. We are basically told that the war started, then we are told that it’s hard, then we are told that we are winning and then go to the final battle. With some last-minute developments (possible romance, set up Ante`s suspicion.)
Historically castle sieges lasted for weeks up to months even, and taking into consideration that
( if I remember correctly) all major settlements were captured by the enemy, reclaiming them across the whole country at marching speed while recruiting new soldiers and gathering supplies would take more than 2 years. I know there are magical abilities and devices but that goes for invading forces as well as defenders. I think the invasion should have been localized to the capital and key positions surrounding it, keeping the narrative more focused and also giving testament to the enemies’ abilities to be able to defend one position for so long. And speaking of long, the war goes for too long.
Sister said she was planning this invasion for 10 years ( i think? ) so it’s probable that she required minimal preparations on location once she got the Saintess before she could cast the spell.
It would be good to have some events during war time, if not batallistic scenes then maybe some character moments because I feel like everything was paused for the war to happen and Sister to prepare her spell (except meybe Leon who got some development) and there is an opportunity here to be utilized.
For example to give some legitimate reasons for Ante to be suspicious of MC. When MC is in the dungeon Leon tells them that Ante was reporting MCs suspicious behavior but I as a reader can
t figure out what she could possibly be reporting. During the war, 2 years were pretty much skipped, and depending on MC`s actions during that time there could be plenty of stuff that she could misinterpret or find suspicious, but as far as we know MC was doing their best to help the war effort, even to the detriment to their own health.
How different would the scene in the dungeon go if MC had found out from Leon that Ante was observing them for those 2 whole years and even before that on King Julius’s command. As readers, we could guess what stuff we did while thinking that no one was watching that could possibly put us in a bad light. Not necessarily bad stuff, but from the colored perspective of Ante being super suspicious of MC and somewhat distorting the events.
As it is I don’t think the payoff of Ante`s suspicion resulting in Leon’s disbelief in MC leading to the pyre is properly set up.
Also it would be nice to see Ante’s reaction to learning the truth. As someone directly involved and very invested in MCs death and whose intervention possibly led to time running out for dispelling Sister
s spell resulting in the Saintess`s death I think she shouldn’t be omitted in the epilogue.
Also also, depending on how things were resolved with the plague, it would be nice to have MC acknowledge similarities in their situation to that of the Baron who also did a bad for the greater good, or Leon saying MC sounds just like him and not mean it as a compliment. There’s a neat little parallel here. And some more opportunity for MC to ponder if it was even worth it.
Also also also, ( I like hard magic systems so this one is just for me ) how do those mana circuits work? Are they physical? Like a second nervous system or a bloodstream? And how does one develop and train them? Are there some exercises to do or just knowledge about magic is enough to increase proficiency in their use?
Also x 4 in book 1 Eli uses some magical cage on Sister that she can’t get out of but then in book 2 demo she doesn’t use it even once. I mean the psycho siblings here since she was unfit for battle the first time we meet her. Giving powers to characters is a very cerfull business since you have to keep in mind all of their capabilities and Eli`s cage seems like an instant win.
Well, that was long. It was a while since I last read the demo so I may be remembering wrong or maybe all this stuff is already added to the final version soo… that’s that.
I could be wrong, but wasn’t it because of that spell that they died?
I think they died out of scene, its just that the spell left them out of mana meaning they couldnt do much to stop Sister after she broke the spell
I thought they died from using the phanstam or whatever it’s called and in the state they was in, they couldn’t stand the power, not sure if im remembering right
oh that makes sense
Firstly when I say I am super excited for this game, that is an understatement. After playing and replaying the demo you currently have multiple times, I can tell the replayability of this game is really well thought out ! I can see myself replaying this game over and over again much like I do with Hero of Daria series (my first love).
The really enjoy the writing style as well, it made me feel genuine connections with the characters, especially my RO - the sadness I felt at a certain point . Cant wait to see more from you !
if i remember correctly Eli made the cage first, then Sister sent her goons after Mc, and they get rid of them. Then Eli told MC to run and used Self-Destruct and it was super effective. I didn’t get the sense that the cage spell killed them
nice cool picture.
ok so i know the male in the picture is gonna be the protagonist but who is gonna be the female in the picture?. in the game.
both are possible protags.
