Found this bug “Chapter10_Jiasei_3 line 788: No selectable options.” I do have the following options available: “I cast Thorn Labyrinth” and “I’ll let Yurui and Flyss do most of the legwork, supporting them with attack spells where I can.” but when i selected one of them i get that message.
We sure do get thrashed a lot. Feels like most fights end with the mc almost dying.
We’re washed…
Edit: alright it was a little funny that the moment I commented that even the game said
“How many times has it been now that you found yourself at the precipice of death?”
but no, really, it’s a bit much. I definitely don’t feel very strong or worth the revive.
I don’t think it’s that bad; a lot of the fights either have extenuating circumstances (like getting jumped) or have everybody almost dying. That and the generous glazing at least makes it clear that the world acknowledges you as strong.
Arent you kinda nerfed from the beginning of book 2 , you aint at full power
Pretty much. Thalia says early on in the story that it’s going to take a year for both her and MC to recover from MC being brought back to life.
That and MC’s mana ducts are fried after the whole “four phantasmas when normally you’re only supposed to have one” thing which should have crippled them for life far sooner and they’re also recovering from.
While I can accept not being at 100% of course, the number of almost deaths starts making it lose it’s impact. Like you don’t really feel the risk of dying, you know you won’t, you’ve already almost died three or four times so the stakes don’t really have the same weight as they would the first time.
It’s all well and good to be told I’m strong and to get glazed, but it’s a whole other matter to actually feel strong.
This isn’t to say I dislike the story of course, but the near deaths start to feel too frequent and I find myself not feeling invested because it’s already happened just a chapter ago by the time it happens again.
Hi hello, i just wanted to ask if anyone has been able to trigger the option to say you have a crush on yu to enter their romance path? or is that not available yet in the demo? i’ve been trying but i’ve only been able to trigger eli’s and flyss’s so far
I love the rewrite and the demo as a whole! AMR was I think the first IF I ever read and I love this story so much. I love how you’ve written Arcadia and the Arcadians, I can’t help but feel for them. The struggle they face just about everwhere on the continent is really compelling! I love how each of the significant Arcadian characters are written, particularly Thalia.
I just adore this world, and your writing as a whole. I feel like I can understand each character, and know why they are the way that they are. Even the characters I might disagree with, or that the Mc might disagree with. I love the mystery, characters, and the (many) struggles of the MC so much and how we can choose to respond to them! So thank you for putting so much effort into this story!
Can’t believe I’m falling for Yurui and Ilya at the same time smh
I got the option to do so just prior to the start of the Kantena mission. When MC is leaving the highcity after escorting the twins Renn and Ryna and their father to the highcity, Yu will approach the MC and discuss MC’s involvement with the Sabers/Thulrum. After the conversation ends, you can choose how MC feels about Yu.
Thank you so much for your kind words, everyone - I hope you enjoy the update!
As the others have said, phantasma are the gods you were forcibly contracted with as a child, which then resurfaced again during the escape-from-Sienan episode.
Yes, this is one of the most popularly-requested stances with regard to Book 2. I didn’t include it initially because I didn’t really know how to handle this specific stance downstream (I do know now, though!)
I’ll have a peek at this in the code - might be that I coded the conversation pathing incorrectly (to the best of my memory, this wasn’t intended to show if the MC didn’t internally resolve to pursue vengeance). Thanks for the catch!
Thanks for catching these as well! Agreed that there should be another way to raise this flag, I’ll look into it.
The Patreon demo is a couple of updates ahead of the public one, and consists largely of romance scenes with F, Yu, and Eli, along with a potential poly romance trigger with F and Yu.
Wrote this down in my bug report file for now, will investigate ahead of the next update! Thank you for the catch.
This is a fair point, and as a writer I could probably benefit from being less heavy-handed with the stakes of individual fights. Will keep this in mind in the future as the mage returns to full power. Although I will say that - as future chapters will reveal - from Tahlia’s POV, for a variety of different reasons, the mage is most definitely worth resurrecting.
As Nyahaha said, there is a way to raise the “I have a crush on Yu” flag. It happens quite late in the update, around the beginning of Chapter 10 I believe. Yu’s future romance scene will include slight variations around whether this crush-flag was raised (as will those of Eli and F).
Thank you for playing, and for your kind words! I’m glad you found the central conflict compelling. It’s been quite challenging to write the Arcadian faction, with all its conflicting interests, so to hear that the end product feels resonant is very rewarding to hear. I hope you’ll look forward to all the content still to come (including more Ilya and Yurui content, of course!)
Tell you the truth. I’m still glad i’m so around to witness how your story’s playing out, and it actually reminds me of an old anime, I used to watch of the king being a good individual, but going the most brutal and most unorthodox method for his own country it just reminds me of what the main character is now dealing with. Except my main character is not a slacker. Who has a lot of knowledge
Neat update. Always enjoyable.
For issues:
During the incident where the boy and his sister get kidnapped, I left the boy with Lhan, but the story scenes made it seem like I left him alone at my home.
Also, during Chapter 10, Yu references my character using the Earthsworn even though I gave it up and have Nyx instead.
Thank you so much!! i’ll try and replay chapter 11 again
Thank you so much as well!! i’ll also replay chapter 10, since i might have not raised the crush - flag variable (i play a pretty withdrawn and stoic mage)
Thank you - it’s been a long journey since 2021, and I’m flattered and privileged that you’ve chosen to stick around all the way through!
Thank you for playing, and also for catching these - will look into it ASAP, should be fixed ahead of the next update!
Looked into the files properly this time, and it actually happens at the beginning of Chapter 11 (sorry for the trouble! nyahaha had the right of it, it’s right before MC and co. departs for Kantena). The specific choice that triggers the flag is "…and incredibly attractive.', with the choice option presented as Yu waves goodbye to the mage. The conversation must end on a decent/good note for the choice to trigger (i.e., selecting the choice ‘I wondered how much longer I’d have to be subjected to this drivel’ earlier in the scene, will not trigger the choice).
You know I’m kinda curious now, is anybody else having a hard time deciding whether to keep Raegusa or to stick with their original Phantasma? On one hand, mastering spell and sword in equal measure with mastery of gravity is awesome and the utility sounds amazing; on the other hand, having a phantasma like Gweila and going all in on magical abilities dwarfing pretty much everyone is an amazing feeling, and I’m not sure if that’s worth giving up on close-range capabilities.
back in the world of arvanand for the first time since 2023! loving the new demo and BOY am i a big fan of the fact that by chapter 7, you go by a fake name and open an herb shop. the healthiest coping mechanism my mage has ever had by miles honestly
i think i actually like to imagine she’s really bad at it at first and it only stays open bc she gets favors from the diocese. learning not to hang her entire self-image and worth on the things she’s good at one baby step at a time
You can always keep a couple of saves! Working hard to make these builds feel distinct in the various combat scenes, so that the game could accommodate a fair amount of replays.
This is a really fun headcanon! If I weren’t already struggling with scale and QC, I’d be tempted to make this a possible option in-game x) Welcome back (again, it’s been a really long time!), and glad you’re enjoying the update!
Ah okok, noted, thank you again!!
