Don’t want to speak for the author here and I might be talking out of my ass since it’s been over a year since I first played the IF, but I’m actually getting the feeling the reason why we became a vigilante won’t actually be minor at all, which would be a good reason for making it a set one if so. Though as usual if our MC has to do something no matter what, it would be a good idea to let us choose how to feel about it at least, as it gives back some agency.
Anyways, I’m not sure if I’ve commented in this IF before but super excited for the update. I played it when it first released over a year ago (or on December? I don’t remember lol) and I haven’t been able to get it out of my head since, been checking the tumblr at least once a week since. I admit I’m a little more partial to worlds where superheroing is already established as another facet of society, but you can’t go wrong with playing as potentially the first (and perhaps only) superhero, especially when you nail the vibes so well. There’s always something fun and engaging about seeing a hero come into their own and having to figure everything out with no help, gives it a very scrappy sort of vibe. Reminds me of the Nolan Batman movies and ESPECIALLY the Raimi Spider-Man movies.
