Thats because I have different dialouge in place for bi/gay orientantions as well as aro/hetero ones, I changed this months ago from choices with 8 things to choose from… which seemes too much for me. Still not 100% happy with it, but I have no better idea and like that much better.
However there should still be a choice there! Will see to that in the next update!
I think it’s nice having different options appear based on if you’re gay/straight/asexual etc.
It’s just that from my experiments, it seems like it’s currently not possible to play as a male who stays straight, as even when picking only non-flirty dialogue with Chase you eventually wind up at this scene.
Were the first two options turn you Bi, and the last actually changes you to be asexual instead of leaving it as is, as the next scene with Astoria turned into the platonic version.
Hey @Schrodinger , I noticed this. Idk if I’m understanding wrong, but it seems to be assuming that I suddenly like girls here. I’m playing as a male, Gay MC.
Thanks, I still need to write almost everything for the routes that rejected Droznik but avoided the punishment, or who got together with him, this will take a bit!
playing this game as queer is the only way ever because woah I love being able to be a repressed gay guy in a private school, very nostalgic. love the vibes and the plot. I’ve always love cult/dark academia WIPs but most of them are abandoned. great job with this one chase is so good for the MC
I just learnt that “shitting birds”, which the MC can say at one point, can mean birds that give bad luck, so now I’m wondering if the MC is trying to cast a curse on Chase
I’m not sure of the origins of the belief myself, but there is a certain logic to it. Wild birds are scared of people, ergo they stay far away. Somehow getting pooped on by one would be an unusual turn of fortune, so there may be some good to go with the bad. If nothing else, it would be rather funny.
Its a silly supersition.
And for who: for example Germany, my own country. It has begun in the 17th century.
You can be so thankful that I am not forcing your MC to smear bird shit in their face, that was also a superstition.
Google is your friend, I am too lazy to dig into other countries…
Tbh many birds have been living with us since centuries, pigeons have also been pets since hundreds of years, and crows, ravens and seagulls are used to us.
It is more of a see something good in something bad “oh damn a bird shat on me, at least it brings luck” “but…” “it. brings. luck!”
Lol perhaps but then i consider it more a annoyance unless its in a funny situation then a laugh but defintly can see it why it would be that way for people and other places.
Love this story, and most of your other WIPs. The worldbuilding around the Divine Flock is really fun and thought-provoking to play through. I love the all-encompassing bird motif, especially in names and such throughout. It adds a layer of symbolism and almost whimsy to the entire thing?
I also wanted to say that, for me personally, I appreciated that the story doesn’t shy away from discussions of gender, sexuality, homophobia. While I’m sure it’s a turn-off for some people, having the sexuality of the main character be meaningful feels really impactful.
All in all, it’s a really unique story/concept that scratches an itch in my brain.
Have to agree with @karaknal, while I wouldn’t want it to be every CoG story, seeing a story where the sexuality of your protagonist genuinely impacts the narrative is great. The CoG guidelines of basically “no homophobia” really stifles the stories that you can tell and every now and then seeing a story that deals with homophobia is actually a good experience.
I am starting to feel like I may have a thing for self loathing MCs. First it was “I, The Forgotten One” now I’ve discovered this and went full in on self loathing. I may have issues.
