I’m about 20k into Chapter 11 at current! I had a minor dental surgery in June which slowed me down a bit while recovering. (all went well, just hard to write when recuperating). CH11 involves quite a bit of action which as you may have realised by now, tends to take longer than other chapters. I’m happy with how it’s shaping up, but there’s still a good bit of work to be done.
In terms of updates, I’m probably not going to divide CH11 in half, at least not the action segment. There’s some stuff that comes after the battle that I’m considering dividing (and part of that could potentially even be its own short CH12).

Hey. Might I ask for a probably serious spoiler? Will I be able to kill Catalyst? Because I’m seriously not playing this if I won’t be allowed. I mean, I want to lovingly blanket the whole Coven with white phosphorus, but I’d settle for Catalyst alone if I must.

I wanted to have some ‘powers are strange’ elements both so it wasn’t from a storytelling standpoint blatantly obvious that something was off with Dime but also to have powers that are less pretty and clean, and actually affect people. Kay’s alluded to it some already but having less ‘attractive’ powers is a genuine disadvantage in some circles.
But also in general I agree, it’s fun to have characters who aren’t just perfect in appearance.

Yeah I agree, I’ve had really aggressive MCs with uncontrollable mutations and they still can’t completely commit to scaring the people. They get a flashback to the Experiment and how it traumatized them
Are you picking the option and then Dime recoils a bit from it, or is the option greyed out entirely?
You need very low expressive. I might tweak this to make it slightly more forgiving (should probably be a bit more in line with some of the other stoic checks), maybe add in a check for the hidden violence stat.
It’s intended to be likely for Dime to flinch out, because the teen says something that really specifically presses one of their buttons, but it probably shouldn’t be harder to hold back there than it is to shake off getting bullied by a ghost friend.

The early release is now out for the Coven level on patreon! I’ve gone back and added skip functionality for the previous two chapters, so you can jump quickly all the way to the new stuff if you want. I’ve also made a couple of tweaks to some earlier scenes to smooth out a couple of checks. (Also, you can now freeze up when Beth’s asking what happened to you!)
This is a split chapter; we’ve got the first two thirds of the action stuff, and the rest will be in the next update along with some of the denouement. Depending on your choices it’s actually possible for the action to end in this present update, so I didn’t think this was the worst way to divide this up.
+~30k words, bringing us to about 386k!
