[WIP] Chains of Destiny: Book One (~716k words) - Last update: 2026/03/16

Oh wow, I didn’t know our sister Julia can romance Zenon. It’s been so long since I played this WIP, guess I need to catch up and replay it from the start:grin:

What are the differences in each route?

Hey, thank you for the offer! I’ll think about it.

Well, the only (rather small) hint about this subplot so far was in Chapter 2 Part 1, where Julia (if your Mc doesn’t have any romance progress with Zenon) blushes a little as Zenon pulls her away to let your Mc and their mother speak alone. So, this really is just the start of the subplot.

In Route 1, you arrive on time or earlier than expected (thanks to a certain recruit, if you unlock that option) and evacuate the villages without any problems. In Route 2, you arrive a little later than expected, and the evacuation is interrupted by news of a large force approaching the village, so you have to decide how to deal with the threat. In Route 3, you arrive way too late, and the village you first reach is already destroyed by enemy forces, making the whole evacuation a failure. Here, you’ll have to decide how to deal with the grim new “developments.”

I think our bodyguard is the Knight of War.

Well, that might make things awkward for my MC, considering I prefer playing a sub in relationships. Unless it’s only about how the house is handled, not so much the bedroom shenanigans.

Ah well, society can go bite itself.

I mean… while society might have its ‘opinions,’ your MC can always just decide they don’t give a damn about them. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

If there is one thing my MC is good at, it’s not giving a damn about society’s opinion. :squinting_face_with_tongue:

For some reason, the bodyguard gives me guardian angel vibes, maybe he is a avatar of one the gods and is accompanying mc to fulfill they destiny but will reason with us first like he did when optionally mc killed that dude and might possibly strike us down if he don’t like where we are heading and refuse to change from that path of destruction

I theorize, if you do the divinition card thing, that he’s what the Knight of War represents. (the avatar of Karas)

Honestly, that old man really annoyed me when he interfered with our MC going for vengeance and basically slapped us around the head and told us to get a grip.

No way this washed up knight is talking down to a rightfully enraged MC who was just kidnapped by a knock-off villain and saw their favourite guard die for them, and then on top of that he was hitting his employers heir. If I didn’t believe he’d be so important to the plot, I honestly would have made my MC see him as an enemy from then on lmao. Guy’s out of his gourd.

To be honest, I approved of Nemio actions, like take a moment, our mc was just child at that time in one day that knew loss, anger, sorrow and resentment but in all of that where was restraint, Yes our mc was valid to kill there enemies but the mc didn’t stop when they enemy was already dead but kept on doing it for various reasons in hatred and grief which were understandable but the other one satisfaction, that is the one, nemio had to step in, to knock some sense in, if in that part, mc optionally smile at they work, does that tell you mc will be a hero, a anti hero that knows right from wrong, or a anti hero who was young and smile that they think this how the world works and if so there are free to exact cruelty on those that have any connection to those that wrong the mc and finally and worst of all mc choosing to become a tyrant of a villain that will shape the world to there own vision with atrocities at there wake, heck that black Knight we saw in the mirror might have been the mc but much older that chose the path of villany since it was the future, I think, being a Knight of war, does that mean mc end wars or make wars for the right or wrong reason

Was going to say, my MC killed him and didn’t get a smack from what I remember. But he only did what he had to and no more.
