Thanks…but I don’t think it’s something you can choose and try something else (at least for me).
I’m not sure I even understand “experience it from a more personal viewpoint”. You mean make MC that would have same gender, my appearance features and a similar personality and imagine it’s me?
I didn’t mean to imply it’s as simple as flipping a switch. I can see how that might be confusing. What I meant by “personal viewpoint” wasn’t necessarily about making the main character a carbon copy of you.
What I was trying to suggest was less about that and more about trying to see the world through their eyes, feeling their emotions as if they were your own, seeing things from their perspective in certain situations they might find themselves in. It’s more about immersion, really. Not just getting immersived in the story, but personally with the protagonist as well on an emotional basis.
But hey, everyone connects to stories in their own way, so if your approach works for you, and if what I suggested doesn’t resonate with you, that’s totally fine—everyone engages with stories differently. 
I’d rather not when I think of Sidestep and all other traumatized MCs xD
But hey, being distant doesn’t mean I’m indifferent and don’t care about the character I’m playing.
I feel a lot of emotions. I can be sad or angry. I can feel satisfaction when MC wins or is an asshole to someone they don’t like. I can feel protective towards them. Sometimes they scare me when I choose the “evil” options. Sometimes they make me laugh. Sometimes I think they are damn attractive and I could have a crush on them…
I guess the discussion has gone too far into perspective topic instead of focusing on this WIP

I don’t know if it’s just me, but the ending left a bad taste in my mouth. L gets mad because MC doesn’t want to be a killer? Seriously? 
I’m not going to do what they want just because they saved MC’s life (by the way it’s annoying that MC is such a weakling… I hope it changes).
For me, I won’t abandon them given the risk they put themselves in to save my life but I also won’t kill innocents for them either just so that we can continue living to kill more innocents. The fact they themselves drew the line at children ( if not innocents ) gives my character hope though.
Well I just follow my guardian for now since I don’t have power basically, I am not joining them assassin though.
I try not to be that much combative sinxe they save MC life, I probably will try to influence the partner to change.
Maybe just assassinate the bad guy?
Slight progress update:
I’m expecting to release more content over the next two weeks or so (I’m going on a sudden trip this upcoming weekend, so I’m shooting for the 21st-22nd). I am working on a part in the prologue, adding in something of a flashback of when the PC got captured to give the reader more insight on the situation and determine who Liam/Lyra is to the PC. This will give you a chance to establish a little more personality, figure out what kind of fighter you are/how you handle being attacked, and see a little more about the world. I initially intended for this to be a small tidbit to help answer questions, but it turned into a 10k word ordeal not including code (might be more once I’m finished), so I ended up spending more time on this than intended.
Long story short, this upcoming update will at the very least include additional sections to the prologue. I’m shooting for Chapter 1 to be released as well, but I’m still messing around with the code/branching, so we’ll see. This story is very much a rough draft with a general outline, so I am open to critiques/suggestions (is there a spot you think is a good opportunity to add something, does something not flow quite right, etc).

The weirdest part — even stranger than the flying skateboards — were the amount of people I saw with the familiar golden hue in dark, violet eyes. These were moreso the middle-aged and elderly, people dressed in casual, but obviously expensively made clothing.
The wealthy.
Both men and women of this group contained clear, clean skin and pristine-white teeth, where the women went for sharper jawlines and high cheekbones and the men just a more broad, squared jaw. They had different shades of skin, different types of hair. Some had their eyebrows clipped at an angle, others straight, and some none at all.
But somehow, they all looked almost the exact fucking same. As if the angels only had one model to add cosmetics to.
