Regarding the MC’s abilities and the Trait system, here’s a bit of clarification:
The MC’s Prowess: You can think of the MC as a versatile genius or a ‘prodigy.’ They are naturally gifted across the board, but being a genius doesn’t mean they are inherently ‘better’ or more powerful than the seasoned veterans you’ll encounter. In this world, talent is one thing, but experience and survival in a place like New Hope are another entirely.
The Trait System in Part 1: Currently, in Part 1, your chosen Trait (Hunter, Medic, Strategist, etc.) acts more as a ‘flavor’ system. It will change specific lines of dialogue and describe your actions differently during combat scenes to reflect your chosen expertise. It’s meant to add immersion and let you ‘roleplay’ your preferred combat style.
As the story progresses into Part 2, these traits will carry much more weight and lead to more significant branching paths. Thank you for asking! (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
[UPDATE] 30/03/2026 | Chapter 5: The Price of a Soul Attention, Mercenaries!
The tactical synchronization is complete! Chapter 5 of The New Hope is officially deployed. We’re moving from the mystery of the island straight into the scorched streets of Monavia. Buckle up, because the “warm-up” is officially over!
What’s New?
Chapter 5 is now live! ٩(๑>◡<๑)۶
The Iron Beast Awakens: Experience the raw power of the NH-IFV-9. Take a seat inside New Hope’s proprietary armored carrier, complete with 360-degree HUDs and enough 75mm firepower to make any coup leader rethink their life choices.
Tactical Briefing: Meet Captain Alex Sargent and Lieutenant Anthony Morgan as they outline the mission to capture General Vojin Golubović. It’s a surgical strike in a city that’s actively bleeding.
The Ghost in the High-Rise: A quiet street, a sudden crack, and a life on the line. Face your first encounter with an elite sniper. Will you be the Hunter, the Ghost, or perhaps the Medic who defies the odds?
Choices with Consequences: This update introduces our first major branching outcome. Depending on your Trait, a brother-in-arms might live to see another day… or become a memory represented by a single, cold dog tag. (Bring tissues, just in case. TwT)
A Note on Deployment Schedule (Real-world Intel): Up until now, I’ve been aiming for an update every 1 to 3 days. However, the mission parameters in the real world are getting a bit more complex! (ᵕ—ᴗ—)
From now on, updates might take a little longer (likely every 3 to 7 days) as I focus on making the narrative even more intense and the tactical choices more meaningful. Quality over quantity, right? I want to make sure every “click” feels like a life-or-death decision!
Bug Reports & Comms: If you find any glitches in the HUD, awkward phrasing (my AI co-pilot and I are still polishing our gears! (ᵕ—ᴗ—), or logic errors, please report them to the command center immediately.
Thank you for supporting The New Hope. Whether you’re a Private in Helen’s squad or a veteran observing from the sidelines, your feedback is what keeps this engine running! (૭ 。•̀ ᵕ •́。 )૭
[UPDATE] 03/04/2026 | Chapter 6: Echoes of the Eclipse
Attention, Mercenaries!
The tactical situation has escalated beyond all projections! Chapter 6 of The New Hope is now officially deployed. If you thought the streets of Monavia were tough, wait until you step inside the corridors of power. The “warm-up” isn’t just over—it’s been incinerated! ٩(๑>◡<๑)๖
What’s New?
Chapter 6 is LIVE!: The mission to City Hall reaches its heart-pounding conclusion.
The Breach of City Hall: Experience high-intensity urban warfare as you lead the combined squads of New Hope into the General’s stronghold.
Trait-Specific Mastery: This chapter features our most complex “Trait Actions” yet!
Are you a Genius calculating the mechanical lag of a B-80A’s turret?
A Ghost engaging in high-speed CQC with a phantom?
Or a Leader guiding your team through a storm of lead? Your chosen path now defines the very flow of the battlefield! (૭ 。•̀ ᵕ •́。 )૭
Echoes of the Past: The shadows have a name. Encounter the Eclipse Falcon—a Tier 1 threat that leaves more than just physical scars. This update introduces the “Invisible Blade” technology. (Watch your vitals, it’s not a flesh wound! ⚆ _ ⚆)
The Ouroboros Evolves: Witness the turning point for the squad. From PMC Operators to Ouroboros Elite. The mission parameters have gone from local coup to global shadow war.
Emotional Beats: Spend a quiet moment in the medical bay with Riko. Even in a world of iron and gunpowder, some things can’t be repaired with a medkit. (ᵕ—ᴗ—)
Bug Reports & Comms: If you find any glitches in the HUD, awkward phrasing (my AI co-pilot and I are still polishing our gears!), or logic errors in the Trait branches, please report them to the command center immediately.
Thank you for supporting The New Hope. Whether you’re a Private just starting out or a veteran who’s survived Wazibar, your feedback is what keeps this engine running!
While I’m deep in the ‘think tank’ planning the upcoming chapters, I’ve decided to start rolling out detailed character profiles—covering everything from their visual designs to their deeper backstories.
I think I might have said I’d save this for later (my memory is a bit hazy, honestly! TwT), but the roster is getting so huge that I’m starting to worry about mixing up their specific quirks or personalities. So, I’m taking the liberty of putting these together now to keep the lore consistent—and so you guys can help keep me in check if I ever stray from a character’s true nature! (๑>ᴗ<๑)
I have officially initiated a complete overhaul of the story, rewriting the entire narrative from ground zero.
As of now, Chapter 1 is fully completed. However, since the narrative has not yet reached the milestone of the previous version, I have decided not to replace the main link just yet. Instead, I have deployed a Testing Version (or a ‘Trial Run,’ if you prefer) for those who wish to experience the new direction and provide early feedback.
While I have poured a great deal of preparation into this rewrite, no mission is entirely without its flaws. If you encounter any bugs, narrative inconsistencies, or ‘glitches in the system,’ please report them immediately. Your tactical intel is vital to making this project the best it can be.
I am planning to support multiple languages for this project and am looking for collaborators to help with the translation process. If you are interested in assisting, please feel free to contact me via Private Message (PM).
Hello everyone, SUB reporting in with a status update.
I am pleased to announce that Chapter 2 has been fully completed and successfully deployed to the Testing Version.
For those of you eager to see how the narrative unfolds, the doors are open. You can dive into the new content now to get a head start on the story, or if you prefer a more seamless experience, you may choose to wait until the rewrite is polished enough to officially replace the legacy version.
Either way, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your continued support and for standing by me throughout this journey. It is your encouragement that keeps this mission moving forward.

Has it been three days? Two? Or maybe four? Honestly, I’ve lost track of time because Chapter 3 is officially mission-ready!
I previously mentioned that this second rewrite might not be finished for another month or two, but as the new narrative is rapidly catching up to the legacy version, I find myself both thrilled and a little “guilty.” It seems I’ve broken my promise of a slow rollout once again—I simply got too caught up in the writing flow and couldn’t stop! My apologies for being faster than scheduled.
What's new in Chapter 3? (Spoilers!)
Chapter 3 dives into a crucial flashback, revealing the history behind why Spencer and Viper Squad are already experienced with Power Armor technology.
Additionally, this update introduces three new characters along with their respective status windows. You and your two partners will also embark on your first mission as unofficial PMC Operators!

I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you for continuing to follow and support my work. It truly means the world to me.
Hi, please don’t take this as actual critique or a formal suggestion it’s more of a personal preference. For me, the opening felt a bit too long, not in terms of pacing or anything like that, but because the MC appears quite late. From my personal perspective, I would prefer the MC to show up earlier (though this is just my own preference, and it’s completely up to you whether to change it).
As a first-time reader, I also found the opening a bit too cryptic..? There’s a lot of information that I, as someone who hasn’t played the older version (I assume people who have might have a different experience?), honestly couldn’t understand. I’m not sure if that’s due to my knowledge base or my English level.
Overall, this is a very distinctive and well-styled work. I’m looking forward to your future updates =)
Thank you for reading my work. I am deeply grateful.
Actually, this rewrite of my work attempts to clarify information, including flashbacks, to explain what happened. You don’t really need to have read the old story to understand this, because I’ve completely cleaned things up and this is new information.
However, it seems your lack of understanding is my mistake in trying to convey it clearly. Don’t blame yourself; the fault isn’t yours, but mine for explaining it in a way that others couldn’t understand.
Anyway, since this second rewrite won’t replace the old one anytime soon, I may take some time to revise or add information to older chapters. Thank you for your feedback.
