It will be like with Ripper’s Plague. We tried to keep the thread open but mod closed it anyway ![]()
Yeah, please don’t do that. From the forum FAQ:
The author will post an update when they’re ready. Until then, just keep sending feedback. ![]()
Usually never :v I hope this wip doesn’t end up dead like most wips. This is the only good story about music I know.
I think this needs to be locked. The author hasn’t posted in 2 years now, and there isn’t any real “discussion” happening. I saw this appear many months ago, played it and left thoughtful feedback because I thought this was an active WIP, and I kinda resent being deceived like that. It takes one quick message from an author to unlock a thread, so all of this is unnecessary.
I’m happy to leave the thread open to enable discussion of the WIP to happen; if the contentless posts keep happening, then it’ll be locked. @BeadyEye if you’d prefer it to be closed, just drop me or the moderator inbox a message ![]()
Did you mean 2 months?
No, I mean it’s been 2 years since the author has posted anything on this site. All of the posts since are from people just trying to keep the thread alive.
The last time the author Beadyeye wrote in here was 20th June 2023.
Sorry for bumping the subject/thread. I love this story so much and didn’t want it to close.
Huh, you’re right, but at the top it says two years. I’m guessing that means THAT post was two years from the one prior? If so, I apologize, as this isn’t as bad as I thought it was.
The message at the top means that specific post was the authors first post in two years. So they said something in 2021 and didn’t say anything else until opening this thread in 2023. Admittedly it does seem pretty dead though.
I just think that personally threads shouldn’t be “bumped” as it may trick other users who await updates or who think that there is an active discussion going on about said game.
If you want to keep a thread active maybe start a discussion on the game/characters/plot etc.
Just happened to me. Got excited thinking there is a new update.
Oooooooh, are you back, author?
if yes, then HOORRAY ![]()

I noticed the demo up on cogdemos just a few mintues ago. Not sure where it would compare to dashingdon length yet lol but the fact its on cogdemos is a win. ![]()
Welcome back, everyone!
For over 2 years I pretty much disappeared without clarity about the future of this WIP, but let me tell you; It will change starting from today.
I guess the obvious question to some of you would be; Where the hell have I been?
And to be honest… I’ve not gone anywhere, there was nothing necessarily major that stopped me from updating the story. But I just stopped.
I can give many reasons as to why I stopped; I was sort of burnt out by the concept that I had (and still have) for the chapter 5 of this story… All of a sudden, it just felt… so long, so endless, so unnecessarily complicated. That led me to resentment about my quality as a writer, made me questioning myself about whether or not I can deliver this story, and ultimately, that led me to quietly disappear without a trace. And I just got on with life.
But even then, this story has always been in the back of my mind. I knew exactly what I want to tell, but the prospect to actually write shook me, basically I was looking for all the possible reasons why I should stop instead of simply telling myself; Sit down and work.
And that went on for two years.
If I’m being honest? I was just being a lazy, procrastinating brat for avoiding to write.
So the mere skeleton that I’d written for chapter 5 was always there, but I didn’t dare to actually do something about it. Until I sat down last month.
And I just write, and write.
Ultimately, I’ve managed to finish the first route of the chapter 5, the Fuel route (the club, remember?), which has been an absolute boogey chapter for me. That chapter alone had about 120 something thousands of words in it.
I’ve managed to start the first act of chapter 6 as well, which is a long time coming.
But with that being said, if I’d learned anything from writing chapter 5; I ain’t updating per new chapter anymore, I’m gonna update per “act” in a chapter now. Which means the updates should be a lot more frequent from here onwards, instead of following the stupid vanity in me of giving one big chapter per update, just to end up annoyed at myself.
As for the content, the chapter 5 will see our MC, Tom, and Gia navigating through the last stage of their stay in Manchester, with a brand new song, an unexpected deal being made, and of course more interactions with the characters. Chapter 6 will follow the aftermath of the band’s journey, now that they’re back home, and another unexpected guest who comes knocking to MC’s door.
The stats page might be a bit messy and untouched for now, but that would be slowly ironed out once I get going with slowly finishing off the other route for chapter 4-5, and of course updating you with the chapter 6 acts at the same time.
As usual, errors, typos, and odd wordings or phrases, you can just give your feedback here, and I’ll try to get to it immediately.
Last but not least, I want to say thank you to those who sent me kind and supportive messages, asking for the continuation of the story. Trust me when I say that I read them all, it’s just that I was too much of a coward to actually address what was going on.
I wouldn’t blame anyone if they don’t believe that I’m gonna finish this story out of fear that I’m just gonna dip for another two years. But I can say this much; I’m in a much better head space currently, and I’m in the mood to deliver a good story.
That much I know.
Cheers everyone!
I’m superhappy to have you back, @BeadyEye and I loved and love your story, the characters and everything in-between
Welcome back, we missed you ![]()
This is great news! I really missed this one!
i love this wip and i am so glad its back
Oh my goodness I loved this story so much, it’s one of the few stories I wished came over from dashingdon. The relationship between the ex-friends?? Especially when you’re pining for them AND the new manager guy?? It was just chefs kiss. I’m so happy you’re back writing! Can’t wait to check this out again after work ![]()
