thanks for recommending, i enjoyed this so far! the customization is great, it reminds me of “zorlok”. it also seems like the author has a plan to make every customization actually matter. that’s something a lot of stories lack.
It does worry me somewhat that it has the option for multiple optional mental health diagnosis. That will be so much effort to portray properly, so it’s a bit of a red flag for the game never getting finished.
I thought I like customization so much that the more the better, but now I discovered that there is a limit for me. Some options even embarrassed me (Genitals… come on, I don’t need that level of detail ).
Anyway, I’ll keep an eye on this wip. I can’t resist winged MCs.
lol i can see why some might think that’s too much customization! not gonna lie, the boob size selection made me giggle a little bit. but i can also see that genital customization can be used for more detailed spicy scenes (something i’m interested in).
9 ROs and this level of customization? I don’t see how it doesn’t fizzle out once variables get super complicated or take until 2030 to be finished.
You should check their other WIP “The Six That Thrive” which is now 5 chapters long, and has approximately the same level of customization, but the number of ROs is smaller ( 5, so far, I think ).
It has been some time since I last made a run of it, so don’t take everything at face value not to forget that there might have been changes. To be honest it didn’t quite manage to grab my attention for long, there are many block of texts ( well for me it felt that way ) with little to no player involvement. I did like the synopsis, and I am all over detailed character customization ( the fact that The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes : An affair of the heart is one of my favourite IFs ) but if it ends up being just some small flavour text or worse not mentioned, I don’t see the point going through all of that, but I have noticed that the height of the MC was pointed out by Dante when he lifts us up.
Personally, I didn’t feel like our choices matter much, and when we finally get to interact with the RO that has bee introduced so far ( Dante ), the choices feel bland, and not dependant on your personality, you know those block of choices that you have to check to learn about the character or the lore in order to advance in the story ( I mean i understand that sometimes they are needed to show that the MC is the one seeking information but if these are the only choices by which we interact with characters it feels like there is no player agency ).
Another thing I dislike the most in IFs made in twine are the choices we make while reading ( not the ones that make you “ turn the page “ ), the choices that change by clicking on them, ( aside from those that determine the colour of your hair, eyes, the length of your hair… )
Because most of the time they mean nothing, they have no impact whatsoever on the text, since the direct response to that choice which is immediately in the next paragraph doesn’t change with the choice you make, not forgetting the fact that when you restart the game and would rather skip the chapters you already went through, there is a big chance you would miss to check those.
Little nitpick of mine is when we get to chose the localization of scars in IFs or piercings and then they don’t ever get mentioned again ( I understand that to some it helps them better visualize their MCs, but i would like the option to skip those if they are irrelevant to the story ) the only IF that I know of where scars weren’t even part of the character customization but where brought up, is Fallen Hero. I liked how we get to tease Herald about liking scars and bringing his hand over to touch them.

After The End
Playing someone abandoned by some prince who liked another woman? Oh joy
I’m complaining because for ages there hasn’t been any WIP on itch*io that would impress me. Almost all the IFs I love are (or were originally) on Dashingdon. Hm…
I read the demo and honestly I thought it was fantastic it’s a sad origin story for an MC that will become something much greater I think. After meeting the Prince and his new betrothed, they wholeheartedly deserve each other while we get a lucky escape with someone who genuinely loves us. Plus if we pursue the brother imagine the chaos!
Honestly, I’ve played too many games where MC always gets the biggest shit - you’re a bastard and everyone hates you, you’ve been framed for a crime and everyone wants to kill you, your friend/lover betrayed you and killed you, you’re an experiment and you have no right to call yourself a human, you are a singer and no one cares about your singing, because drama is better, you’re kind of a Horror the Chosen One must destroy, you are rejected by your royal fiancé…
I’m already tired of it.
He isn’t a ro, and this plot is quite famous, actually in manga, manhwas, otome games, etc.
This won’t convince me because I hate otome games
Even as short as it was, that was better than I expected. Getting to tell off the bitch was so satisfying.

The Lightning Thief
Man, isn’t that author juggling like 4 different WIPs now (technically 3, I think one got cancelled since the tumblr page is gone. Edit nevermind it’s 5 WIPs, two got deactivated on tumblr) with none of them past two chapters? I really like their writing and I’ve already succumbed to TCS and WLB from their works, and no doubt a self indulgent PJO game would grip my heart. It’s just… genuinely no hate at all to the author but more of a why? It doesn’t inspire much confidence as a fan wanting to follow
Honestly, most Tumblr authors have more than one IF. I guess they can’t keep their attention on one thing for long.
Its a shame, this autor havent uptaded no wip in what… 2 or 3 years? And just get more n more wips as time goes on :T
He said that both WIPs (WLB and TCS) would be updated soon, one probably at the end of the month… But, yeah, I’ve already learned not to take such assurances too seriously.
The more info section said that the author is writing it with two other people, one of them being the author of Zorlok… which also hasn’t been updated for almost two years.
When I tried to access it, it said that a password was required to view it. I don’t know if I’m the only with this problem and whether anyone here knows the password.
