Personally, in the og I never wanted the throne. My MC is happy to fight and protect his brother, fights to keep his siblings together, and dreams of marrying/annoying Daemir.
Honestly, I felt letting Freya be with the pirate could potentially turn the pirates into our allies. Maybe a naval branch like Cryzhentia suggests.

That one I spared her after the cough event but not sure if she going to have happy ending because well her lover is the enemy, it may come to that.
I do manage to turn her to viewing my side more favorably she’s now torn choosing side at least how it’s going in old story.
As for ending it’s not yet written so it can be as anyone guess.
If I am going for fair route I would demand some sort of reparation because of the cough after sparing her, I mean she killed people those would want some sort of closure.

Curious how Astryn is going to be handled considering last time, she committed a full on war crime. Multiple actually.
It did get me a daughter in the end though. So that’s something.

Honestly the only thing I recognize is only from the first book, I am not reading the second WIP that much, I think only read before confronting the rebellion.
Still not giving my opinion yet about the rewrite since I am still halfway reading but so far I think this rewrite is on the positive note, the is a lot more involved.

I must say it’s hard choice now to disregard Nicholas and his sassy remarks, in old story he is not that charming the revamped version though I would say author is having great success.
Not sure is Nicholas like Freya? Or Atheris? I would approve his relationship with Atheris is there is a way to play match make between this two?

All my siblings annoy me. How realistic. One is vile and a bully, one is airheaded and naive almost to the point of being too stupid to live and the other, well I have so many words to describe Richard and very few of them are positive.
Anyway, Xavier my beloved, I’ve come back to you. Hopefully I can get Nicholas as well.

Well it certainly looks like that, Rhivenia itself remind me of Iron throne like the kingdom do have some sort of Lord paramount although they do keep their traditional title, Rhivenia in old story have like 4 large vassal as part of it the city we’re in is in between of those 4 probably in the center, Lena is one of those vassal, not sure now is Lena kingdom a vassal, a tributary or just independent allies.

I wouldn’t call freya naive or stupid, she’s just a sensitive and kind person that has actual faith in goodness. She’s a refreshing character to me in this story. Everyone else seems bloodthirsty and selfish.

Atheris
Atheris is not a bully never seen Atheris bullying much of people, she is just aggressive and easily provoked the type that fight fire with fire, throw snarky remark at her and she spit back with equal if not more venom, she’s from what I gather is loyal to the cause and doesn’t mind to get her hand dirty just like Mother the type you want as spymaster. (keep her happy and she will feed you with crucial information and hints)
Freya
Freya is not airhead, she is actually smart but naive I do agree on that, Freya is like Disney princess she doesn’t like when people getting hurt, overall kind person, if you want seneschal Freya is your no 1 candidates, Freya probably one with not much to offer not known if her relationship with ex pirate will be a boon (since the official story from original is not there yet), there is an option to marrying her for troops and gold support, but she will hate you forever
Richard
Richard is glory hound, he like getting praised and really like to increase his prestige his problem is he is afraid if he is losing to MC, he and his mother going to get exiled, if MC address this problem there will be no opposition from him and don’t take Clara he is just smitten by her, gaining Richard support will cement MC’s rule and provide stability. (at least in old story)
Other Family member
As for two mother, MC’s mom really love MC it just she is willing to do anything to ensure her child have a chance even if those involve in playing dirty, Richard Mom while she’s having a problem with MC’s mom is not really antagonistic toward MC, overall she is actually afraid of MC banishing her and Richard if MC win the throne.

And might be wildly wrong but on the part where Atheris, Freya and MC had that love talk and Atheris said she could not fathom falling in love, it read as very ace coded and would align well with her clash with Freya and not being able to understand her, besides the whole pirate trade and all

Can Freya not be both things? That naivete and…well…selfishness is what makes her character interesting. She sees the good in people, yes. But the pleasures in life, whether that be a forbidden romance or artistic pursuits are what she is basically addicted to.

It’s a shame they only want to marry the heir. Because that would bring Nicolas and Atheris together. Since the throne will be mine.

I haven’t finished the demo, and even though it is obviously better, the writing style is still the same and it very…bland. Instead of a story. Both demos (although it seems like this demo is slightly better) feel like the written version of what we are supposed to be imagining while reading the story than actually…just reading the story and immersing ourselves.
That is the best way I can describe it. Regardless of whether their first language is english or not, writing scenes does not have to be so formulaic and rudimentary.

If you mean the one that’s been released under HG, I find it harder to not make him king in that one.
