Does the writer intend to make the rest of the story public?
Richard will be left without Clara and without a throne because he is an idiot.
Neu MC even tolerated Richard, but after he challenged his own brother in a foreign kingdom, the tolerance ended. If he wanted a challenge, it would be done in our house.
My reaction is more sad than angry with the duel, part of me just want to grab and drag him to the corner so I can dig out why he did something so stupid (since my MC obviously doesn’t know the talk with his mother)
I think those 3 option is legacy from the old story, I do remember it was something similar, I picked language and I didn’t step forward during the hunt.
Same choice like back there in old story.
I didn’t pick the the hunt because I want to let Atheris and Richard to shine, but hey getting a rabbit is not so bad.
Huh? I feel like this is really rude, why are you telling an author how to write their story? How do you know the author doesn’t intend to go back and put in a stat for that option? Maybe the idea is to make the game a little challenging, it’s not anything new for a story to have choices like this.
That stat with the as yet empty choice could be building for something that will come into play later, even if it’s nothing that’s applicable here. Or it could be a choice stream that’s not written yet. This is a WIP, it’s a little early to take offence at a blank choice.
Isn’t the point of the public WIP to find out potential issues early? Going with this logic half of the feedback in all WIP threads on this forum shouldn’t be there, or delayed until the last minute, because who knows, maybe the author is already aware and intends to do something on their own, in the places people have found bugged or problematic.
I meant it more as in, you can expect this dude to get irrational if Freya doesn’t do as he pleases. Like, he has no qualms about murder. I can certainly see it happening. Doesn’t scream compatibility to me.
Freya is just another case of Revna in a different view. Revna is much mentally tougher than Freya but has the same moral compass, Revna lost her first love by her Brother killing him but she somehow moved on somewhat from it because of her mental fortitude.
Freya won’t be the same, she neither has the mental strength to live in the wild, nor the fortitude to let go.
I stand by Daemir’s mindset on this, when you are a royal you don’t have the luxury of freedom of choice. You are in a family who rules an entire kingdom, every thing you do has consequences. If other royal families see weakness, they will see it as an opportunity for conquest. And that doesn’t just affect you, and your family but the entire kingdom.
Freya is my most precious sibling. Her brother, my MC, will protect her. And if she wants to marry a pirate and he’s good to her, my MC will be there for them. Plus, he sees the chance to mend old rifts and obtain powerful allies.
What other weakness we’re talking here, in the old story invasion is imminent, poison spread trough castle many dead, treasury nearly empty because trying to buy the antidote, the is threat of civil war and if the situation is not dire enough there is faction forming supporting their own choice of heir, Matteo doing matteo things, everything is against you.
Situation already past point of hiding weaknesses it’s already laid bare for all to see.
Freya is not Revna and we’re not Daemyr, if Daemyr treated his sister like crap it is up to him but MC don’t need to do the same, if the pirate treated Freya like shiet and abusive towards her, he will not getting away, then again if it is truly happening it will be something for the future MC to deal with.
What could be worse than losing Freya trust? If we’re talking about pragmatism accepting the pirate only have potential future consequences like he is being abusive, executing him will have immediate consequences and make her hating you forever.
In my view even if the ex pirate truly abusive partner MC can bail Freya and Freya will learn something from her mistake, MC get to execute her lover and she doesn’t hate you for it.
I mean Freya ain’t exactly someone to be threatened of, she more or less has to fall in line or die trying not to.
As for the consequences, the most immediate consequence would be you losing faith with the people and many other royal families, if you allow freya to be with erwan.
You would be in a tough spot in all four directions, Francis’s son trying to usurp the crown, your own people hating your decisions, royal families negative criticisms and tougher negotiations in every point of the way for forming alliances. Let’s not forget, the people may even try to start a rebellion for other heirs.
Your first goal after becoming the king should’ve been to garner support and alliances as much as possible without trying to gamble on a risky alliance with the most hated group in the world being pirates and thieves at the moment.
Of course this is all pointless if you are not going for king route. Just the point is, letting Freya be with a pirate has immediate and future consequences both.
Not trying to say your way of playing through the story is wrong, just that it is 90% harder and riskier.
Just execute pirate and marry freya away or alliance.that’s her punishment for putting family and kingdom at risk and will serve as example for future generations.it will also bring support for war as well.
