I was just playing the game again when I saw and I was right in my theory that Clara doesn’t like him at all because this still shows up even if you aren’t trying to get with her.
Also Richard that is a really creepy thing to say to someone especially if you’re not even dating. 
this For Richard, it was a fun little journey. However, something was missing for Clara. Or someone.
“What will you do with the portrait?” Clara eyes the picture in Richard’s hand.
“Oh, I will hang it on the wall of my chamber,” he answers with a grin. Clara smiles widely. “It will feel nice to wake up to your face every morning.”
Clara’s smile disappears. For a moment, Richard wonders if his words were offensive. He doesn’t intend to hurt her in any way.
But when Clara’s lips curl up again, he lets out a sigh of relief. But he doesn’t notice how fake her smile is.
I don’t remember getting it before but in the playthrough, I’m doing now where I got it I don’t have a high relationship with Richard because I wanted Atheris to be queen so maybe that is why plus him not being king…? 
Also if Atheris is queen she will marry him off and after you can try to comfort him if you want but instead he gets mad and accuses you of liking Clara even if you are gay.
I’m playing with Atheris as queen for the first time and when I told everyone I let Xavier go Atheris doesn’t say anything to me about it or even punished me like come on Atheris of all people would do/say something.
I like that when Atheris finds the letters and tell everyone she doesn’t just say well guess he was bad along instead agrees there is more to the story than any of us know.
So Lena just said Atheris had to marry Xavier for them to have allies and she said no so I picked why don’t I marry Xavier instead and it still doesn’t work.
To be real it’s stupid that you can only have that damn queen as an ally if you marry her shouldn’t marrying her brother as king or prince work I mean either way she’s got a foot in our family and kingdom.
OMG again with Xavier sowing up when he shouldn’t.
“My people used to poison the flowers,” Xavier mumbles. “There’s a special poison to use on the plants. But I don’t think this flower is poisonous. Its colour would be slightly darker.”
Wait Wait! I just read the choices after this and how the hell is he with me I let him go free plus I took Jarean and Clara with me not him.
Why is Xavier with me instead of Jarean?
“Truly?” He lifts a brow. “I would’ve kissed you earlier if I’d known.”
“What did he say?” He cringes. “Was I too obvious?”
I’m confused here because I didn’t tell him Sir Arnold said anything.
We won’t know til book 2 which of those skills is better but to be honest you can still get a high skill in both of them.
