In the demo you are presented with the childhood of the heirs of Rhivenia,your character has in his/her hands the possibility to win the crown if they are chosen by the mysterious sword that is deeply related to the Kingdoms religion(Namherys,Lord of the Sword) and of which we those who played the whole game do not know much about,Kingship can only be achieved if your Leadership stat is high.
Your father is King Charles who murdered his siblings during the War if the Three Brothers after they refused to accept his rulership(and practices polygamy having two Queens),even Prince Francis who was too nice for his own good and supported him during the succession crisis,his lover flees Rhivenia and finds refuge on a foreign land,they say that if you let seeds grow you can expect a big verdant miracle,that’s exactly what you you will find on the finale game when your dear cousin(Francis’ son) shows up with huge amount of plot armour for classic revenge.
You train with your instructor Sir Arnold(archery matters more than swordsmanship on book 1 remember that),attend lessons with the Advisor of Rhivenia Gerard,read on the library about in game lore and get to know your sisters Atherys and Freya(the first who is ambitious and wants the Throne,the other who likes to paint and has a fascination with ships) as well as your half sibling Richard -son of King Charles and his other wife,Queen Isabelle/who doesn’t come from a noble background in contrast to Queen Alvena your mother/-(Richard is deeply hated around here,play and find out why),attend two political meetings one at your very castle which ends with a hostage Prince Xavier and the slaying of his kingly father as well as meeting your vassals the Everans of which only a pair of twins remains alive(yes you can romance both)
Queen Isabelle’s brother appears on the castle,Matteo of Poleria,which brings ill tidings as despite the friendly man he comes bearing old grudges against your not so dear father,his visit marks the countdown until King Charles’ death and the sword choosing the new King that could be you the player or your siblings(three Endings for the demo,your sis Freya cannot be Queen,we have checked-she is not on the code- plus confirmed by NutellaQueen ).
