ā€¦Letā€™s just adopt a bunch of street orphans, easy way to get a few heirs and children without some of the not so nice side effects of reproduction and bearing childrenā€¦and it would royally piss off the king.

Two should be sufficient, I like adopting orphans right from the streets, or at least I would if that were ever a possibility in any of the rulership games, if only to show the stuck-up aristocracy that rulers, or at least competent administrators are made, not born.
Still I donā€™t really need more than the heir and the spare. So unless Iā€™m playing an uncharacteristically philanthropic and altruistic heā€™d probably still limit it to two or maybe three bright youngsters at most.
