Few I hope. I don’t really care for games with too many random death scenes, but that seems to be becoming a trend amongst hosted games.
I can usually deal with death scenes if it’s because I created a failure because of my choices.
Naked, forced into marriage, peeped on by a old man, ditched by my ‘best friend’. Got to go on a adventure with a muscle elf and a flirty Goblin. 10/10 would plot to kill a wizard again.
1/10 - IGN too many pastries not enough pervy wizards to kill.
okay, in all honesty, I just checked out the update, and when bandits were mentioned I expected a fight of some sort, while an exploding bandit was somewhat of a fight, I wasn’t prepared for a lake party.
By the way, I like the way different characters effect conversation.
I like it…Hope to see more of it soon!
Im waiting for the moment some poor npc to say somthing about my character, and i just zap their armor off and laugh. )
Oh, they laughed at my bald, naked fat man. But soon he shall have his revenge! Especially on his parents who never even went looking for him!
What happens if you look for your parents?
Oh my, this is fun. I really like the dialogue, it’s witty and flows naturally. Party banter is always my favourite part of any RPG!
I have to say the thread title really does this game a diservice - I took it a face-value, because there are indeed many typical fantasy adventure WIPs on this forum. Kinda shame if other people will overlook it because of that!
@Zane_Hiam
So i got sleep deprevation and read though the comments and it lead me to do some fan art…
ROflolmao and some other characters so I have twenty.
Man…
That wizard must have been very lonely.
He partly reminds me of peter griffin.
Just needs more hair and glasses.
I was gonna do four differnt versions two male ,two female. But i got tired
- Kerwain, His chivalrous attitude and selfless desire to protect the MC is very endearing.
- The old wizard, bit I don’t hate him. I just prefer the other characters.
- There should always be an option to say something, but those options and/or the expression of those options should be colored by his disposition. (e.g. have a bitter MC say “fuck off” while a snarky one would say “Yes if pigs begin to fly” and a kind MC would say “No”.)
- A stat bar that keeps track of your approval and relationship status (e.g. acquaintance, friend, best friend, boyfriend) with each relevant character.
My gosh, has it really been 442 days? According to the warning about necro-posting, it has! Where does life go?
Shut up, Doug. Nobody asked you.
An update is imminent. I haven’t posted it yet, but I wanted to at least tell you what I have done in… so many days as this!
- You can now choose from any response, regardless of your initial disposition (meaning you can say something snarky even if you’re bitter). I think that’s good because people say things out of character all the time. There is, of course, a benefit to staying in character… or is it the other way around? Or is it neither? Or BOTH? No. No, it’s not both.
- I’ve rewritten some of the scenes, namely the forest scene. Your companions will play a larger role in that part of the story now. Kerwain in particular!
- I’ve removed Lish from the story. And then I put her back in. I’ve made up my mind: she’s here to stay.
- Characters were removed to make a set party! Woohoo! Then I put them back in. I did. I like the idea of a variable party too much. I like that you can choose your companions on your adventure. It’s more work for me, but I’m going to do it. Principles or whatever. Probably pigheadedness. Which is terrible since I don’t eat pork. Or maybe good because I won’t eat my own head?
- OMG Ghinty was getting shorted (and not just because she’s a goblin). I typo’d a single variable (why are computers so picky?!) and a lot of her dialogue was completely unavailable as a result before. Wow. That has been fixed.
- AAANNNDDDD Finnur had a similar problem as above. I was checking for “finnur” instead of “Finnur” and he was a lot more quiet than he should have been (although he’s still fairly quiet).
- The next scene, the camp scene, is almost-ish done. This is the first night you spend with your chosen companions and it gets a little… a lot… a lot more than a little… a good amount anyway… wait, what was I saying?
A big thank you to everyone enjoying the story. It’s the reason I write. Some people say you have to write for yourself, but I like writing for others. I like writing for you.
The update will be live hopefully by the end of the weekend. Keep your toes crossed. ![]()
Yay, I loved this WiP so far, and hoped that’d you be back! And plus with dropbox being finicky and stuff you’re the hero we need!
And the variable party will probably take a lot of time, but I haven’t seen it in many other WiP’s so it could be awesome. And probably have like a replayability level of 11/10
Also I found a bug (I guess?)
If some dweeb (like definitely not me) spammed the call out to Calor button the game glitches and is unplayable. But then again who would spam the button (not me, duh, only some moron would do something like that)
Also when Finnur joins halfway Oferi doesnt include him in the people she’ll talk to (at the current end of the game
I’m a bit confused on who the ROs are, could anyone tell me who they are?
I think almost everyone is an RO at this point, maybe except from the woman who wants you to do the job and her husbqnd.
But any party memebers chosen should be romancable. I think.
Well, when I went through one of the characters said that finnur was unremarkable or they couldn’t get him to talk to them or something like that.
