Bigger bug the fake romance for Ceto isn’t an option despite me having the stats for it
Can you check values of ceto_romance and ceto_fake_flirt variables in that play through? I’d guess the option is hidden because the romance score was raised from 0 with some “honest” flirt option at earlier point.
I went ahead and simplified the romance code in those scenes, hopefully that should clear out any bugs.
1 and true, her first fake romance option rise the romance stat
Hmm this is weird then, these values should pass through the second half of the conditional and the option should appear. Maybe that’s nesting issue, it seems that selectable_if etc are tabbed one level too far to the right.
In any case, hopefully the simplified version will resolve that.
So… was Gaius a spy? Or was he the same as a Prefect that was loyal but also had a conscience and refused to kill a child? Or did he actually just fail and Victoria simply escaped him?
I just know I’m gonna end up regretting more decisions…
I am gonna be honest, having to choose between spending time with her or Julia (especially romancing Julia) is an extremely hard decision. I fear she may not trust my Prefect enough although she has certainly been given confidence…
The last stat boost choice after you-know-what happens seems to have all but one of it’s choices boost the wrong stats. (The +1 rhetoric gives you warfare, the +1 warfare gives you economics etc)
Only the scholarship +1 actually gives you scholarship like it should.
Yeah…I’m screwed. I have imperial favor at 108 and legionary at 76…everyone else is sub 25 lmao…I hope some praetorian guards and legions can help me…(I’m just some random warlord omg).
any advice on how to not be this fucked?
If you haven’t sided with either the Legate or the Consul formally, then it’s possible to power-balance the two. Appoint Ceto to the council, let the Verans help enforce security in Kyro, and redistribute grain to the people (preferably with the reduced grain levy on Seyet).
At the same time, you can use the Legate to help you uncover the identity of your poisoner, to keep 20 barbarian favor there. It is possible to have both barbarian and senatorial favor above 55 at the end of Chapter IV, although your military favor will be around 25. If you want to balance that faction as well,.only one can be in the 50s and the other two will be in the 40s, as far as I’m aware.
Stayed up till 5am last night playing this and I’m obsessed!!
I loved playing as a Lady Jessica from Dune type character who originally got close to Julia for the Sorceresses but fell in genuine love with her. She is willing to follow Julia to the ends of the Earth (even if that involves killing Scilla’s heirs)
She loves Augusta like her own daughter and is training her to be a Sorceress. She taught her to be a Tyrant but may regret it as Augusta is only copying her mother rather than forming her own opinions as her own person so far so I may change it to Paragon in another playthrough and see.
Amazing game I’m going to be obsessed with this for now on.
Fixed that! Also did a minor rewrite of Tyrant Augusta’s moment after sleeping on it, she’s colder and calmer rather than as fiery as her mother now, as much as she might seek to emulate her. Figured that might fit her character better, might tweak it further later.
That will be revealed in due time.
Just finished playing the new chapter and I just wanna say…
OH SHIT OH FUCK SHIT’S HITTING THE FAN
I might be fried lol. Every time it doesn’t give me a chance not to side with one of them formally but I’ll try my best ig
After another playthrough of the latest chapter, I must express my most heartfelt wishes to the Galeri family in this festive season
Ending the cycle of violence always seems so easy until they murder the woman you love.
Those are some pretty high reputation stats. How did you get them? I tried balancing, but that just meant none of my stats reached 50.

decisions that i remember making.
be in love with empress. it helps with imperial favor but guts your public favor
you need rhetoric 3 at start it gives best outcome in first chapter on legate senator debate about holy fire. and rhetoric is needed to make up with emperor if you are cucking him ![]()
i don’t mentor Aguste and always get skill point also if you choose idealism it gets you +5 mob
when Augusta judges cases i let her decide first 2 and then help senate on third.
then get high economy if you want legates support or rhetoric for senate(im not sure about senate) i always go with legate. DONT make alliance with either of them just talk as empress representative
you need 5 economy to solve every crisis without problem it gives very good bonusses.
i always tax province its very good for your support(it currently dose not have any negative consequence’s but will most likely have in future )
take catos deal and then use her man to crush gungs.
make up with emperor.
to succeed investigation you need 3 points. DONT shame praetorians i dont know when these happens but dont do it. its better to use resources to get clues rather then going to faction and spending imperil favor.
if you have high soldiering getting imperial favor is very easy.
i personally went with alliance in last chapter.
DONT recite prayer it just decreases your impearl favor ![]()
there is new goddess variable is last chapter which can change depending on your actions at least i think there is ![]()
i dont really know what Scholarship and Subterfuge really do so can’t give exact recommendations
i don’t think there are checks for 6 or 7 in stats so you would have been better served in having one more stat on 4. at least at these point in game.
if you neglect co-empress in first time it also gives one more stat point ![]()
The choice to make an alliance isn’t the first choice of the game, where you decide whether or not to provide the foederati with the Holy Fire. It’s at the end of the first chapter where you have to go to either the Legate or the Consul and have to talk to one of them. Don’t choose the option to make a personal alliance (Actually, $Character, I think I could help you…) or something to that effect.
Just wanna say this is a great WIP and I am eagerly looking for more after blindly playing through this once today. Did anyone play the game on steam, Age of Decadence here? I felt like the author took some inspiration from it, which if it happens to be the case is amazing as I love that game. To anyone who likes RPGs with heavy dialogue and action I recommend giving it a try! The setting is survival in a post-apocalyptic world in the remnant states of the not-Roman! Empire
Also, spoilers, but regarding the sorcery and more fantastical elements at first I totally thought the Goddess and magic and all were Lovecraftian or alien in nature now I think it’s some super advanced AI that released the virus/plague and destroyed the former civilizations ages ago
Good god… things were going so well for a sec there… everything was coming up Prefect… Well! Time to draft up some new schemes
as soon as the Goddess lets me out of this frightening hole
