I’m really curious to see a poll about everyone’s favourite character by the end of this IF. I have a feeling Julia will take the lead (pretty sure she’s Nr. 1 now anyhow), but future chapters might radically change how people see her, or any other character for that matter.
And again, I know I said it the previous chapter too, but we’re only at Chapter IV out of XIV. My God. So much happened already in the story, and I have a feeling every future chapter will only increase the stakes (besides the ones Julia will use during her BBQ)
Oh yes, speaking of stakes, does Iudia employ crucifixion as a form of punishment? Or, I suppose, other societies like Pharia or Hadat?
Am I the only one who always seems to convince Titus to leave? I don’t think living with a wife who hates you, a “daughter” who doesn’t care about you, and your wife’s lover who at best feels sorry for you is a good future, so I hope he finds the happiness elsewhere.
Yeah, from reading the comments, y’all really don’t know what’s going to go down. It’ll be interesting, I’ll say that haha.
They do, though Julia isn’t much of a fan of it. She’s less of a torturous punishment person and more of a just kill them and put their head on a spike to make an example out of them.

Who is your favorite character thus far in Shattered Eagle?
I don’t like picking favorites, but if I had to, it would be hard-fought between Julia and Augusta. Augusta is currently limited by her youth, but she has so much potential. Julia is an excellent character all around.
But in the end much like my own avatars, I find myself more willing to believe in Augusta’s future.
None of the above, despite anything nothing of substantial relationship can be named here beside temporary alliance of convenient because of goal alignment.
From straight woman point of view I didn’t see any character worth courting here ( although I did every route in the end I have no favorite character )
Like I said previously everything is transactional, it’s really a turn off in relationship building even if there is “romance” Choice I can’t help but feel like my MC is being used for other party agenda which I don’t like, I feel picking random handsome slave somewhere and be done with it is better idea than with this cast of snake character.
Overall I gave this 8/10 for politics and skullduggery but 2/10 when it comes to relationship.
Pretty much the same for me. For the prefect who is working on molding Augusta to follow their lead there’s additional incentive here, to keep such external influences at bay, but even on other routes i can’t help but feel a clean break and a fresh start elsewhere is ultimately better for Titus.
I’m not one to usually do live commentary, but Holy Sweet Mary, Augusta is DOMINATING the opposition.

Kust finished the latest update. Thank you so much for this. Titus is dead and it me and Julia against the world. Wish i would hsve poisoned him myself. Maybe my next play through. A question, is there a way to keep in the good graces of Julia and Augusta as we prepare to go north to war, or will we have to pick one side or the other?
I might do that sometime later haha, it seems like there are some clear favorites!
Whether you can maintain a good relationship with both depends on the choices you’ve made. A Paragon Augusta is now thoroughly at odds with Julia, a Puppet Augusta will have earned the disdain of her mother, and if Augusta has been betrothed she may have opinions about that too.
I’m not surprised Augusta became many of our favorites. Who can’t help but root for the kiddo? Plus — she gets an arc directly influenced by the player.
If she were excluded from the poll, I’d probably vote for Consentia.
This is a good point. Augusta is a very customizable character, and in IF it’s satisfying for a reader to feel that their choices have impact. Her personality, actions, relationship to the MC (possibly a parental figure or an actual parent), relationship to her family, skills (what the MC decided to have her specialize in the first chapter will have an impact later on), and even potentially her appearance are all player-determinant.
It’s a little funny that actual ROs are being outpolled by a 13 year old who the reader is made to interact with many times, I don’t think that happens a lot in this medium haha.
