Yes I do like many aspect of the story, this is political oriented story which is rare find, I do like the male version of MC on how they claw on top from bottom, so far the story have twist and turn, the pacing is nice, the story itself is somewhat descriptive but some detail could do to improve this.
I am just responding to your allegation, if thatâs all then letâs put this to rest.
Iâm not going to comment on this particular thread of conversation except to say that I believe that all that can be said, has been said.
There is a path to cultivating a connection like that with Titus, but itâs mutually exclusive with romancing Julia. While you can reconcile with him in the latter scenario, heâs putting down his grudge for what he sees as for Augustaâs good. That doesnât mean he isnât still feeling sore and bitter deep down at the MC after his decade and half resentment.
Iâll fix that.
Eventually Augusta will lock into one of three personalities. A cold and calculating Tyrant, a kinder and more compassionate Paragon, or a pliant and weak Puppet. Even so, by managing her Trust and Willfulness stats, you can advise her to do something differently than what her personality might push her towards, so it wonât be an absolute âShe will always do this/act like this.â
As for her skills, the skill you choose for her to specialize in at Chapter I (Scholarship, Warfare, Economics, Rhetoric in the Library, or training her in combat in the Yard. Subterfuge may come laterâŚ) will have an impact on what Augusta might be able to accomplish later in the game.
On this note, will there ever be a chance to teach Augusta more than single skill? Both my multi-hat Prefect and my Long Live the Queen MC look and shake his head/weep, respectively.
That wonât be the only thing she can do, but that skill will serve as her specialty, an area she excels in. Remember that she is still very young, after all. If Augusta survives the events to come and becomes Empress one day, she may well become skilled in a great many areas, with the right tutelage.
Ace of all trades MC on their way to ascend the most min-maxed empress ever on the throne.
Iudian world domination is coming. What planet, thereâs just âGreater Iudiaâ.
âWhen youâre economy-trained every problem looks like tax break for the rich.â
By exploring technology you make yourself an existential enemy of the sorcerers. Outside of Darius, what would the position of other major actors be on the your âheresyâ, assuming you are aligned with them? How many of them would seriously consider backing you in that death fight?
You may have the chance to find out, though it will be a hard thing to convince anyone of.
I feel like your average Iudian is not too receptive to the idea that the foundations of their worldview are in fact a case of social engineering.
âBionic eye, huh? Is it some sort of barbarian dish?â -Some random Iudian
The great thing about this story, however, is that it is impossible to be great at everything. There simply arenât enough stat gain opportunities for that. By the end of Chapter IV I can be at Rhetoric V and Economics VI, and that makes me the the most administratively administrating administrator that Iudiaâs seen in a long time. But that choice to specialize is very good for my preferred playthrough (loyal Prefect saves the Empire) and very bad if I want to play Bonnie and Clyde with Darius (Subterfuge and Scholarship) and or as the second coming of Caesar (Warfare and Subterfuge, maybe with some Rhetoric).
I couldnât fight an adult off the street, I have no sense of tactics, have no academic knowledge, and canât tell a basic falsehood without everyone knowing. But I can balance the books and keep the Empire humming better than anyone else, and I can inspire and persuade people with my words. And that will dictate the choices I make with my playthrough. I will primarily stay in the palace, I cannot spare Tristitia, and Iâm going to be unable to stop Darius from doing whatever heâs going to do with his bionic research.
Economics is necessary for good administrative playthrough rhetoric not that much.
i will say that econ 5 is best stat check that is in game.
im playing econ V warfare VI and rhetoric II and i dont think there was single thing that i could not achieve that i wanted. i would say changing warfare with any other stat will still work.
Of course, Iâm being silly because the mental image of god-empress Augusta amuses me.
As a game, it makes things really interesting to be a weak and fallible human being having to shoulder the crumbling of a whole empire, being one of the last few pillars that keeps it standing. It forces you to make tough choices, and to keep going knowing you canât save everyone and youâll have to make sacrifices on the altar of what truly matters to your character.
Economy X prefect really is just the final boss of empire building, just throwing money at problems while striking gold with every swing of their shovel. Our glorious golden lord.
Making Balthasar Gelt look like a pauper.
Economy X prefect trying to make allies be like:
âFriendship is more valuable than gold⌠or so they tell me.â
i was reading old post and am interested what are theories about against whom julia was losing games maybe she has same eye like thing like darius??? and was communicating with goddess it certainly would explain many things
I still think itâs absolutely hilarious that Iâd have no idea about the technology stuff if I hadnât read it in this thread. My MCâs just not clocked it at all, and neither had I.
Ooooo now thatâs REALLY interesting. Iâve always focused on Rhetoric in the Library because Iâm a big fan of classical oratory (you might say Quintilianâs book on raising an orator impacts how my MC raises Augusta, see Quintilianâs definition of rhetoric as âa good [person] speaking well.â Canât wait to see what the results of rhetoric for Augusta are.
âŚand one day Iâll try alternate approaches. One day. (I say this all the time with BioWare RPGs and never do it, tho).
Imagine spending so much time with the old ladies in the Senate that you donât do an Indiana Jones run with Darius. This message has been sponsored by Kyroâs Cybernetics Club.
She definitely has that bionic eye. As for who she was playing against, there are a few possibilities. I say it should be some other bionic eye fellow. My assumption 'till proven otherwise is that itâs Sorcery Mom. Whatâs the proof? Pure gut feeling.
At this point, if anything is mysterious/suspicious/villainous I immediately think of her. Maybe I wouldnât be so biased against her if she wasnât actively trying to be suspicious.
Listen, if the Senate sponsored an archaeological dig Iâd be all over it. But we have other priorities. Namely, sitting around, drinking wine, and remembering the good old days.
First become an actual senator, then we can talk about the virtues of the res publica.
Take a seat, young Prefect.
Honestly, anyone who picks getting their own eye plucked out over sitting around and drinking some wine is sus.
