Shadow of the Eagles

Did the character family member appear in the game. I mean maybe if the background of thr mc is old nobility they will show pride they survive the revolution and little bit obnoxious behind napoleon or maybe if mc family is commoners they will feels pride they rise this high but still acting out of place and many old nobility talk behind their back, you know did something like this included in the game? Feeling curious of this topic

I forgot to ask. If the player’s rising this high in the ranks, how much focus do you plan to put on Parisian politics versus military campaigns? Same mix as the Dragoon Saga?

You can choose one of four backgrounds as of right now.

Hm, well now — this catches my interest. I second the question above about politics — will it be all military stuff or will we engage in politics as well?

And will our character have the opportunity to get enrolled in the Napoleonic nobility that emerges under the First Empire?

There’s a political dimension, although you’re not going to have the power to play as a major political actor at first.

Yes.

Thank you!

I absolutely adore flintlock fantasy (or historical fiction), and the French Revolution is my favourite period of history, so this announcement had me beyond hype, but also dreading the inevitable ā€œgender locked because historyā€.

This is an extremely pleasant surprise and I will be watching with great interest.

An IF that just might fill the Wars-of-Infinity-shaped-hole in my heart. I look forward to releasing my inner Berthier.

I know about the background. I mean will the family member play important role, that what i mean. Sorry not being clear

It looks like the answer to that is no. We will need to fill in those details ourselves.

Unrelated, but if any of you want to ask Bernard Cornwell some questions now is your chance:

LOL’d at the Wars-of-Infinity-shaped hole. The good news is that this has a lot of potential to stand on its own and attract an even larger audience than the Infinity Series did, not to mention I saw someone say that this will serve as a good practice run for the larger command perspective in Wars.

Which is true.

Shadow of the Eagles walks so Wars of Infinity can fly.

Indeed, the 1792-1815 period is certainly more appealing to the general audience than going to some third-rate fictional country and having to deal with passing a budget. And Takarans.

It’s not like I already playing the demo because I’m not patreon so I don’t know if the writing is on same level as of narrative mesmerizement like infinity series, but i agreed with this statement because it’s true napoleonic war era is one of most appealing historical era that fascinated many people’s and will always fascinate many people’s

I can say that what’s in the demo so far very much meets these expectations. You get a good taste of just how gigantic the changes were in French society as a result of the revolution, including to a personal level (the Reign of Terror is, in fact, terrifying!), and the chance to meet historical figures during their early years before they became continent-shaking legends is quite fun.

I definitely recommend the demo, or at least keeping your hype up for when the early release comes.

I don’t have money for the demo patreon so hearing this make me happy. Thank you for the infošŸ‘šŸ»

On top of the fact it’s just really fun to play.

Cataphrak has a lot of passion about this topic and it shows. You can tell that there’s been so much research done and thought put in and it’s really refreshing.

Highly recommend following this thread and if you can spare some money that you join the Patreon.

Are you saying that you’re regularly working on bug fixes or actively writing updates and posting them? If so, i would get the 8$ option, also what’s the wordcount?

The Player character can easily just catch eye of Napoleon and evacuate with him

He is actively working on it daily yes. He did 5,000 words yesterday and 1,000 the day before.

They can also find their own way back, even if it means missing 18. Brumaire.
