Regarding Romance

LOL! You’re welcome.

For me, personally, I adore the in depth look at things. This is all my opinion but token romance is… narratively boring. I’ve seen a few games where the mc and ro meet like maybe twice for something not related to the plot and it’s… narratively jarring.

“Hey we’re a thing now.”

I think that if romance is not inherently a part of the larger plot then it should just be flat out excluded. I personally like using romance in my games not because it is inherently important to the plot itself but because a romance can help flesh out characters better than simply being a part of a team with guns/swords/magic/whatever.

People are different with people they love than with friends.

I like the ro’s to be as natural as possible but even if they aren’t they should be at least somehow be relatable. I also agree with the other guy before me that they shouldn’t include romances unless they are part of a major plot. Some romance in some games are kinda boring and shallow probably because they want to focus on the main plot or because of the coding.
And I also agree with the other guy about some romance being so quick it feels force and it doesn’t spark anything with the reader. I much prefer a slow romance I don’t care if their first time holding hands took 5 books to happen as long as what they’re having is flesh out and nice. I also think that wayhaven chronicles is one of those games that did great at that yeah because it’s a romance focus game but still.
