i use either abecrudele or Avery Blare as my pseudonyms.
For abecrudele, abe is my names and my middle initial together. crudele on the other hand is an Italian translation of my surname.
For Avery Blare, i picked Avery because i liked the name and because of how close i see it to abe, giving it a more gender-neutral feel. Blare was originally Blaire, another name i liked, but i did not like the whole firstname-as-a-surname thing so i looked for the closest word to Blaire. It is funny that i chose a word meaning loud when i’m rather quiet.
Many years ago, I happened across a website which promised to translate any name you entered into Elvish. I think it was basically a random name generator, but I was young and didn’t understand the impossibility of the claim, so I put my own name in and got Tarlonniel. I liked it and I’ve used it as my online handle/pen name ever since.
Apparently it does mean something or other in Sindarin/Quenya, but nothing close to what my actual name means. Oh well. Sounds cool.
I do have a pen name it’s Harriet Parker Jackson and the story behind it just shows what a nerd I am. Harriet is the female name of Harry and I got that from Harry Potter, Parker is from Peter Parker and finally Jackson is from Percy Jackson.
Oh and my username if because I like the name Serena but I was watching a lot of Xena warrior princess when I was younger and noticed a lot of usernames used Xena in it but I still wanted to put a nod towards my favorite show at the time so decided to an X and change the spelling a bit… Still shows what a nerd I am.
When I was at a military college one of my platoon sergeants started randomly calling me Mumbles. When I asked him about it, he was telling of this movie he watched where there was this character that was a bigger, kinda intimidating guy but would always mumble whenever he had to speak and was actually nice. He said that I reminded him of the character because of he similar i looked and acted so he started calling me that. It actually made me really happy because I’ve never had a nickname before so I started using it for everything
