Rosy is, I think, the RO that requires the most patience to romance. It seems to be very much a slow-burn. Rosy essentially has to respect you before they start to show any interest in your Button. I think the best way to put it in a more generalized way is: be confident about what you have to offer, but cockiness that is borderline harmful to yourself or others will put them off. I’ll put a slightly more detailed guide below:
Somewhat of a Rosy guide with some code stuff:
Coding-wise, Rosy has 3 stats being tracked: Rattraction (which is more how much Button is attracted to them), the general Rosy relationship, and Rintrigued. Rintrigued is how much Rosy is taking notice of Button in a romantic way. Rintriuged is a stat that is activated in Chapter 8, triggered by having over 30 general Rosy points, and at least 25 Rosy romance points.
I’ll put some examples below about when you gain points with Rosy:
- If you won the assignment: laughing at their jokes when you meet them in their office after the assignment, or just being more confident/playful
- Showing remorse for hurting K if that’s how you won the assignment (Rosy values confidence, but not necessarily at the cost of hurting teammates I think)
- Picking more of the “logical/rational” options when Rosy accuses you of setting off the bomb. I don’t think you lose any points by being scared/anxious, but being more forthcoming in answers gains some.
- General answers that indicate competence. So, for example, realizing Rosy defended you from Clarence’s accusations of theft, and putting those I Stats to work successfully.
- When training with Rosy in chapter 8, show confidence and take the mission seriously. Also, don’t get overly upset about being compared to Nick in that scene. The “intrigued” stat is set to false for Rosy if you do this (I think they interpret it as you prioritizing besting Nick than taking the mission seriously).
You get the option to write the essay if you fail the assignment in chapter 2. You make Rosy proud by passing the assignment, but of course, failing also gives you more time with them (and therefore points that way too). Going on the coffee date doesn’t lock you out of Rosy’s romance. It has to remain platonic, though. Dating Glitch or Sally automatically locks you out, as they obviously won’t take your flirtations seriously if you’re in (or have been in) a relationship with the other ROs.
You’ll know you’re on the right path with Rosy romantically if they call your Button by their first name by the end of chapter 8. There should be a ‘moment of realization’ during the Rosy training scene.
