I loved Maria also, but I was split on Black Magic, my favorite part of that romance was in The Hero Project and you cast a stale vote, and the ever so dramatic scene that happens afterwards.
It was precisely because I was so split on Black Magic that I thought she was such a great character. Would I want a woman like Black Magic in real life? Hell No! But as a love interest in a story I found her flawed personality a refreshing change from the usual romance character, and in some ways more realistic. I played my character as a very inexperienced young man who was helplessly head over heels in love with a woman he idolized, but didn’t really know. It gave me insight into how easy it is to end up compromising our values in the name of “love” over the objections of our heads. Nevertheless I still dumped her in half of my play-throughs of Part 2 after she made that ultimatum out of the blue. lol.
Now Maria was an entirely different story. I compleately adored her. If I were to meet a gal like her in real life, I’d grab her up in a heart-beat. 
Have you tried keeping the relationship with Black Magic going through HeroFall? Instead of going insane and attacking everyone, she attacks everyone because she sensed the MC was in danger which threw her out of the coma, nearly kills everyone, and transports you to safety. That’s a little overprotective 
She isn’t perfect and far from it, which is why I enjoyed the romance because it felt more real that way instead of a flawless partner who does everything right and gets on with everyone.
But you’re right on Maria from Tin Star, she’s adorable and always tries to make time for you and your secret little dates, she’s a little sweetheart.

Also, having just played Guenevere, Morgana is by far the best love interest in that game. I don’t even know how that happened, but it felt really natural somehow.

I love the romances. Even though they’re usually sub-plots they are my favorite part of a lot of these games. It’s hard to pick a favorite but I’ll try.
Olivia from A wise use of time. At least in the beginning it felt very easy and natural. I could totally imagine dating her for real.
I liked Carla from Psy-high. But then who doesn’t love a bad girl.
And Evelyn from Slammed. The way the real romance mingled with the show romance…loved it.
A lot of people picked Prodigal from the Hero’s Rise trilogy and I just have to say…omigod!! I had no idea you could romance her??? runs off to replay hero’s rise

One way is to not restore the previous people that were brainwashed.
I think it is possible to stay together as well, even if you free the people, if you are also a ‘bad girl’.
She stayed with my character even when I freed her previous boyfriend. I had this stats:
