Agreed. Babying them doesn’t help and backfires. I find it kinda icky, too, that Seb seems so reluctant to let her go. But I think that’s part of his “problem”–he’s attached to Maya, and that’s his best friend, and he doesn’t want to let her go.

ooooo Author please if you would deign to bless me with the smallest crumb, I’m dying to know just what tf was going through Sebastian’s head when MC walked into the diner. He seems to be an amazing dad- he knows better than most what kind of trouble kids can get into but he’s still letting Maya do things that she enjoys while doing what he can to mitigate harm (and he lets her say fuck)! But I’ve got to imagine her idol just showing up at a diner for them was 100 kinds of terrifying.

I will say that it would be a lie if I said Sebastian doesn’t have his reservations. Maya is only 17 and MC is 26/27 and while it’s all innocent, Maya’s infatuation and MC’s willingness to befriend her can get messy fast. Not saying MC would do anything weird, of course not, it’s more that Maya can get really attached and Maya has already experienced abandonment before so Sebastian is just nervous for Maya, mostly.

At the end of the day MC has a life of their own and stuff they’re dealing with. Sebastian also doesn’t know MC and Maya doesn’t actually truly know them, so Sebastian is just more feeling MC out in the best way he can: by being kind and getting to know them lol

Obviously those reservations eventually fade, but this does come up in his route. Maya plays a big part in how their relationship progresses cough cough cough cough

She did! Maya is basically always on MC’s side though, so if MC hates Seven, then Maya hates Seven. If MC is still in love with Seven, Maya would ship them. She’s MC’s ride or die lol

I hope Maya never approaches him and harasses him in any way. Since my MC is a little more calm and doesn’t experience mood swings, I at least want Maya to not cause any trouble. Besides, I can’t deal with the spoiled (?) I like Sebastian and in no way to saying he’s raising a spoiled child, just needs to be a little firm with parenting about boundaries. behavior of a 17-year-old girl and I won’t hesitate to tell her that to her face. Even though she sees me as her idol, I don’t want her to defend me or cross my boundaries.

On one of the asks, she made crying faces to a question about whether we’d be able to prevent Savina if not romancing Seven, and asked why we wouldn’t want Seven to be happy.

I’ve seen that, and it made me question why Seven is the only one with an outside romance. I can easily see Rowan getting romantically involved with Kieran, but then again, we’re only on chapter 2, so I could easily see it being implemented.

She also mentioned that, though Savina has argued, Avina always apologizes first (which works for Seven) and it’s never been that serious.

In a relationship like that, Avina would likely develop resentment for constantly being the one to mend problems and apologize. Apart from the party scenario, it doesn’t appear like Seven and the MC argued. This is why you’d believe the MC would be given grace for ruining the relationship from Seven’s perspective. One issue, and they couldn’t even give MC another chance, not even to fix it. I completely disagree with Seven and Avina being a good fit. Avina appears to have their own enabling issues, codependency, obsession, and drug encouragement to deal with. When it comes to seven, they also wear rose-colored glasses.

I think the reason she’s saying it’s spoilery is because Avina is going to be a problem for Seven-mancers, in some respect or other.

Sure, but isn’t that an obvious conclusion? Maybe the more the MC is involved with Seven, the more Avina’s rose-colored glasses come off. The more they see the Seven that we experienced and are currently experiencing. Seven isn’t hostile towards them, so if they witness a hostile interaction between Seven and the MC, it’ll shock them and completely change their perspectives on the MC and Seven.

Yeah, one thing I appreciate is that the MC isn’t really forced to flirt all the time and just have “thoughts” that can add romance points.

I agree; it’s very realistic as well. Not everyone expresses how they feel, courts the one they have a crush on, or has the courage to ask them out on a date. Instead, it’s sometimes a subtle interaction.

Avina does seem like Seven to Seven, but Amy has said their relationship is nothing like MC/Seven’s, so I don’t really get it, unless she’s saying their relationship–unlike Seven and the MC’s–is healthy.

LMAO, I would hope not. Their relationship has tons of red flags that, if it were real, I would side-eye and advise them not to date. They would need to seek intense therapy instead. I wonder if Avina will pull a Seven on Seven. Try to get over the fact that MC and Seven are rekindling their friendship or relationship, but then get drunk and blow up at Seven.

The MC on Seven’s romantic route doesn’t care about Lucy at all anymore. The same goes for Seven. He would be ecstatic if they didn’t exist, and therefore he never met them. The MC on Seven’s friendship route is open to having a conversation with a copious amount of booze involved. The three other MC’s I have aren’t dealing with them.

That makes sense as to why Sebastian made the remark; really, if he told the MC about her mother’s abandonment, the MC would have a clear understanding of that from experience. Maybe the MC and Maya could help each other in healing emotionally from their parents’ abandonment. Maya is 17, so I don’t expect her to be a therapist to an adult, but she might still be able to contribute.

Only orion and August (?) have some kind of normal relationship with their parents. Everyone else is either having a) missing father (good riddance), b) absent parents or c) altogether horrible families.

Maya started listening to mc band four years ago during a difficult period of her life. Wonder if that’s when her mother took of or was it earlier. I cannot fault seb for not sharing that with MC, it feels too personal you know?

But I can see why Seb babies her, the guy is a bundle of anxieties and insecurities and who knows if he blames himself for the mother leaving, adding an extra layer of guilt to that overprotectiveness.

Maya does not seem aggressive to me. I think she would only react if she was part of the scenario to begin with and she seems more the snide remarks type as she is to intelligent to be an agressor. But she also does not seem like someone who would stand by and let someone shit talk a person she likes.

I think that will be some of the angst in this route. Maya basically emancipating herself and him letting her go for good or for bad and also there is this new stranger who is a musician that he fears has more influence over his child than him who he also kinda likes. And there is not even any drama from the other parent in that dinamic.
