Good points. Wonder if seven is aware that he repeating the same pattern with avina, that he had with MC and led to their breakup. The unhealthy codependency, that almost suffocates another. What if that revelation comes too late.
As for his relationship with avina. They are probably in love with seven for years, but never crossed that line into a full relationship. So they are happy to be whatever seven needs. Even if seven sleeps with them (platonic or not). Or goes with out other people.

I’m of the opinion that Avina has had a crush/hero worship on seven for years. They/she/he (idk what pronouns avina uses so sorry if wrong) seem very starstruck with seven still now. My mc doesn’t see Avina as a threat but idk that could change if ex!Seven decides to be petty and get with avina just to p*ss her off haha

It’s a reality show. Anything is possible. Putting your history with the ex on screens. The place where you live in. The Relationship with the parents. Etc. And not to forget, the bands have microphones on with a camera crew following them most of the time.
Same, I think they’re just afraid to act on it in case history repeats itself and Avina probably knows that Seven still harbours some romantic feelings for an ex!MC, in a sense they can never compete with that which is also kind of sad for them. Anyway, I don’t know what to make of Avina, on one hand I’m happy Seven has found comfort in them on the other, especially after that Patreon drabble, I’ve very mixed feelings about them, as if my MC can never get their guard down around Avina. I’m probably being paranoid and besides the biggest threat is still the mystery person that has Seven giggling and kicking their feet whenever they call👀
On a side note, there seems to be a patter of platonic relationships in this story, and sometimes, at least for me, it hard to fully read between the lines because I always get the impression there’s more involved, like between the MC and Rowan.
I think it’s safe to assume anything can be used against the MC. One of my MC did hook up with Dakota…but the MC is single and a full grown adult, so who really cares about a random hookup when you have people like G who actively cheats on their wife?
On her tumblr she basically confirmed Rowan has zero romantic feelings for the MC.
And I’m sure that’s true canonically, but that isn’t really the impression I got on first read through. Like, I quite literally thought he was an RO. He’s fun, cute, one of our best friends… he’s a perfect fit for a friends to lovers. So, I totally get what they’re saying here
I quite like having a platonic friendship that doesn’t have to be romantic. Someone for mc to vent to and who has their back but is like a brother to them. Seen so many friends to lovers in other IFs…plus if your mc never dated seven before then that could be friends to lovers.
Maybe Dakota is cheating on their wife or husband too…we don’t know but if that is true it would be more ammo to paint the mc as a serial homewrecker if you go for either G or V.

I never got the feeling they were, more like brewing feelings that haven’t been explored yet.
I think that’s wise. Given the messiness of all of the LIs, and that Seven angst is rated a 10/10 by the author, I’m suspecting all kinds of shenanigans on that route. I can see Seven still sleeping with Avina even if the MC manages to make inroads with them, and it being reiterated that “it’s just platonic!” until you find out it’s not. Seven and Avina are attached at the hip, and I think trying to romance Seven will ensure that Avina blocks the way, one way or another. They could start having sex (again, because, like you, I think they have before), whether the MC is on Seven’s path or not. And if the MC decided to have UWB on the bus, their hotel room will be right by Seven and Avina’s, so they’ll get a constant view of the two of them together (and possibly hear noises that show it’s not so platonic, since Seven is loud!).
Avina already has Seven, no matter the label the two use—the MC is going to have to fight to get them away from them. It’ll be like trying to break up G and V, only G and V aren’t up each other’s asses 24/7. And I don’t buy Avina’s “nice” act, either. I can see them turning totally hostile to a MC who starts trying to romance Seven, which will just turn Seven on, probably.

Has Amy said how the MC has to approach romancing Seven so it will work? I saw that, with G, MC has to not be a “yes-man”. With Orion, it’s persistence in the face of constant rejection. Seb, I think, was being nice to Maya but keeping boundaries. Saw nothing on how to approach Seven, though. I do have my own ideas as to what it will take, but…
Probably to do that, MC will need the patience of a saint.
Avina is too sugary nice, and I don’t trust them one bit.
Both Seb and Seven don’t really feel like RO’s to me with G being debatable but fine I could see that being a one sided celebrity crush of fanboy mc.
Oddly enough despite being just a sub-romance with probably no good end Blake feels more like an RO than either Seven or Seb do.
But given how the mc is presented in the game all romance routes seem to involve the mc being a yandere and needing to have strong masochist tendencies or at least all the male ones do, August and V may be slightly more healthy unfortunately my mc is only interested in guys sexually or romantically.
I don’t really get where the idea of Seven hooking with Avina came from, but even if they did, does it really matter? MC and Seven, in the ex-route, wouldn’t be in a relationship at the time of the hookup so…what’s the problem?
Though I seriously doubt Seven is the type to hookup with people she constantly has to be around with. It complicates stuff too much.

With Seb, it feels to me that they are a RO, but it’s that “you make a connection because of Maya” kind of thing, where Maya is the thing you have in common and that brings you together.
And G… I think I would’ve agreed with you before, but their POVs in the stuff on Patreon convinced me that G won’t be a one-sided thing, unless the MC plays it wrong. G seems to already feel a… connection, I guess? It’s like they see something in the MC that speaks to them, and it may be that the MC reminds them of who they once were, before fame left them jaded. Plus, I think G is kind of lost right now. I don’t think their romance, or the poly, is so much about fixing them but about reminding them that they don’t have to be the image they portray or what people want them to be. That may be getting too deep, but G is getting to me (so is Vic, really).
I agree that Blake feels more like a RO than Seven (my pillow feels like more of a RO than Seven right now!). Not so much where Seb is concerned, but I get what you’re saying. I think Seb’s obvious submissiveness and shyness, combined with their focus being 100% on Maya, makes them feel less like a RO than they are. Although, with Blake, it feels like that would just be a hate-fuck path, which may be the intent since they aren’t a real RO, anyway.
I agree with this, mostly. I think G’s may be one that won’t require either of those. Even if the MC romances G alone, I think it may be possible to do it without going in trying to be a homewrecker, because the MC might view G and V as being ill-suited for each other.
Of course, my husband is just going in with a wrecking ball to them for one of his MCs (he wanted to romance both Gina and Victoria, but wants to bang Blake–I told him that’d lock him out of G, from what I can tell from tumblr, so he’s going to destroy G/V’s marriage, lol. His other MC is torn between a full poly with them and going for Orion.

I’m thinking I may let one of them be bi and do a G/V poly just to see how it goes, with Griffin being the catalyst for her going for the poly. V really does seem like a sweetheart, and it’ll be a new experience for me, since I only play straight females. I may get squicked if there are sex scenes with MC/V and have to backtrack, but we’ll see.

Anyway what you describe still doesn’t seem to be a sexual or physical attraction it may or may not be romantic but my mc is not asexual either so just romance won’t do it for him either and anyway from your brief description it sounds like the mc is a pity project for G now? That might be even worse than just being a convenient tool to cheat into the contest to try and block Blake on G’s part.

No, that’s not what it seemed like to me. The way she wrote it… there seemed to be some underlying physical attraction from G, along with the connection they seem to feel (skin heating happened, and that doesn’t happen from someone you pity). If it does get shown in game–with G displaying some of the stuff going on in their head–I think it’ll be clearer and a bit more encouraging than it seems right now. If it doesn’t get shown in game in a reasonable amount of time, I’ll be right there with you calling it one-sided on the MC’s part.
Yeah, bad boys in leather jackets have always done it for me. I just need to make a MC who thinks that, too. My depressofest MC has written Blake off as one more of a long list of people who hate her and want her dead, and my not-depressofest MC thinks Blake is an asshole and would refuse to give him the time of day with him being out to destroy her for something she didn’t do (she also thinks he’s a fucking moron for thinking a bar band could somehow cheat their way into the contest).
