That ranking list was based on pre-show fan favorites yeah? I’d be curious to see it now. After Week 1 I doubt MC and co are in the bottom 3 anymore. I wonder where Triples band will land on it too since they were originally top 4. And SV…well if theyre still #1 guess I’ll laugh.
What’s their angle? Trying to downplay the MC to set up a surprise if they are good? Write them off as an untalented cheater?

The magazine is unlikely to be without an agenda, as it’s pointed out they have the unofficially official coverage of BOTB and would possibly be in contact with producers over their plans for the upcoming season. They might have received a few bullet points to cover.
I think it’s likely that this feature spread was trying to highlight a bit of the band’s history of “controversy” with SV/Seven and set expectations for planned scenes and storylines. So maybe there just wasn’t room for acknowledging the band’s merits, haha. Besides, why would that even matter when BOTB is trying to capitalize on the drama? They want people tuning in and whether or not MC’s band is good became largely useless for this the moment the cheating allegations came to light.

I had forgotten about when exactly the spread was made but UWB not being there yet changes things up!
Perhaps the original plan was going to put the focus on 7 and the story of the season would be about how SV is blowing their former band out of the water.
I guess the last minute addition of UWB is going to make them switch to all the drama surrounding the MC soon enough, and the public is probably going to go crazy for it.

BOTB has turned my MC into a slightly annoying “whatever happened to this being about the music, man?” sort of artist. I gotta laugh at it.
I’m looking forward to seeing how long I can continue to play the most unfilmable (read: boring) contestant. Ever so gently making Cory’s life hell makes my day.
I mean it’s a magazine, so its only angle is probably to cook clickbait one liners to sell copies. Plus this competition is like 95% drama 5% actual music, so anything around it is just as fun and delightful
Honestly, it’s wild that no one in-game has tried to point out that MC’s band v. UWB is basically David going up against Goliath. I suppose we haven’t gotten much time for it, but whew. UWB is massively more known than any of the bands that took part in MC’s final public audition. Like, yes, of course the results are skewed toward popularity rather than merit, in that case more than the other audition rounds, where bands seemingly competed against mostly equals.
If I were O, I’d be trying to turn the conversation toward the inherent unfairness of a band that’s nearly mainstream competing against glorified garage bands and then screaming fraud when a system already rigged in their favor fails. It’s a blessing in disguise that G was cut out of the picture. It’d be harder to argue against a conspiracy if MC were photographed getting cozy with G, as opposed to getting cozy with Victoria, who isn’t a direct part of the show.
Good point! UWB complaining that they couldn’t win with an advantage isn’t a good look at all.

I understand and agree, in part. She rewrote and to a degree reworked what we had before. Having rewritten chapter one, original chapter two and new chapter three could mess with things.
But it’s not like there won’t be later updates with the rewritten rewrite of chapter two, so again…only partly agreee

I feel the same. Like obviously I’m not going to be like that person and hound Amy bc it’s not her fault and she genuinely felt so bad about it.
However it was slightly disorientating jumping from stepping onto the bus to then the first elimination lol. I also missed the bus scenes a lot bc my mc and Blake had a good late night love-hate talk lmao.
So yeah whilst I miss chapter 2 and will probs not replay again until it’s added, I’m not going to be a douche about it. Some people just forget that authors are real and not some online presence.
I’m actually unsure how to interpret the update she gave, does she intend to have chapter 2 ready for when chapter 8 or 9 are up or for when chapter 3 goes to public access?
I read it as how long the demo will be open to the public?
I think Amy mentioning chapter 8 and 9 was her musing when she plans to cut off public demo access. As for chapter 2 being added shes probably just giving her hopeful tentative timeline. Chapter 2 is huge.

I treat this more of a Disco Elysium-eque setting of a broken person essentially heading their long journey to healing, instead of Harrier and his fragmented personality, my MC, Paz’ willingness to stay in emotional shitty situations for crumbs of love and learning to see worth in herself and STAND UP, also not to internalize and compartmentalize everything.
It’s kind of wild to think about how big Infamous will be at the time of Chapters 8 and 9… and how that’ll only be half the journey. Such an expansive piece of work she’s creating here.

Lol I didnt even get to read chapter 1 because of a bug. So I went directly from the fist fight at the after party to Week 1 performance. good times! MC’s career moving at the speed of light.
This work is truly one of the best. I love the MC and their family issues that I can’t wait to explore further. Amy created a masterpiece that makes the works or Shakespeare look like hot garbage!
